bfr, bfore this drama even aired, esther was already bringing the buzz. on weibo, douyin and xhs, it was her name trending, not heyu.
don’t downplay yu shu xin just bc u prefer the actor. if you don’t like her, then simply don’t watch!. no need to discredit her impact.
she’s 1st billed for a reason. this drama got attention because of her, not the other way around.

I just started this drama today. It’s been on my watchlist for a long time, and I finally decided to give it a try. I’ve watched up to episode 9, and so far, I really enjoy it. It’s a funny drama, and honestly, I don’t think it even needs romance to be good.

That said, I paused at episode 9 because I’m not really a fan of the FL’s character. Don’t get me wrong Tian Xiwei is one of my favorite C-actresses, and I absolutely love her in modern dramas. But here, her character just doesn’t click with me (at least up to episode 9).

So I’m hoping for some spoilers about the romance like, do they actually focus on the romance once the leads fall in love, or is it more of a side element that doesn’t take up too much space in the story? If the romance isn’t the central focus, I might consider picking it back up, so i’d really appreciate any spoilers just about that aspect.

I’m also curious about the FL’s character development later on. Personally, I like almost all the female characters except the FL so far. I especially love the sister, and my absolute favorite is the First Princess.

For now, I’ll probably put this drama on hold and maybe continue it later, depending on how the romance and character arcs develop.

no wayyy i was really looking forward to her wuxia drama after MJTY, so this feels a bit disappointing 😢. But it’s okay… I’ll patiently wait for her next wuxia or historical project. In the meantime, I’ll definitely support and watch her modern drama when it airs. Wishing her all the best and continued success, always ✨.

this happened to me today 😂 I was watching and thinking, “eh why this drama so fast-paced? This doesn’t even look like ep 1??” Checked again and yup, it was ep 1. Thought the admin messed up the order 💀 I was ready to give up on it, then I went on tt and saw a comment saying you gotta watch Part 1 first 🤣
