Its a romance drama of course it will focus more on the romance. Literally nobody cares about the birth secret…
Plot is always important, how is it supposed to be interesting and different from all the other dramas if there's no story at all and just leads making out for no reason. Even a romantic comendy has to have a story otherwise it's just that, 2 people kissing for 16 hour-long episodes, a torture.

"Literally nobody cares about the birth secret or the palace politics. We just want our leads to make out every other episode. " Watching a drama just to see straight people kiss (which happens in every kdrama ever) and not caring about the plot at all sounds awfully pointless.

The last two episodes were a bit disappointing tbh. I'm always expecting the inevitable same old tired romance part of the plot to start towards the end of a drama, around ep10/11, but here we got into it out of nowhere in ep 5 already (well 9/10). With 11 (22) episodes left I can only imagine how soppy and corny the plot will become and I really hope I'm wrong cause the first 4 (8) episodes were amazing.

Title Moment at Eighteen Spoiler
I am SO annoyed by Da Heen and her relationship with Oh Je, she basically forced him to date her in front of the whole class knowing that he would never turn her down like that with everyone watching. Also annoyed that Oh Je didn't solve this quicker but I guess he really wanted to "try" to fall in love with someone he considered to be just his friend. But now the way they're guilt-tripping him with Romi basically saying he's OBLIGED to date Da Heen because she likes him is so infuriating. And let me not even start with him obviously being gay cause that makes this whole "you need to return the love" thing even more messed up. "Stop being gay and date this girl that likes you!". I will be SO mad if they decide to pull a Reply1994 on him and just go with a "he was just confused because he hasn't met the right girl before" plot and make him suddenly fall in love with a girl in the last episode...

I was gonna rate it 10 and then that druggie scene happened. Why would they do that to him? I was so attached…
!!! The only reason I gave it a 9.5, everyone got their happy ending and he got the worst case scenario...

Title Reply 1994 Spoiler
I honestly was enjoying this series even more than 1997 until episode 17 happened. Throughout the whole season Binggrae was having an obvious crush on Trash, always following him, blushing hard when they kissed, he was the only one never involved in any romance, never showing any interest in girls and at some point you could just FEEL the episode when he confesses his feelings coming. Basically the rehash of Joon Hee's story from previous season and I loved it. And believe me when i tell you I got HYPED during those last episodes when his plot thickened. When he went out to see someone in 2013 and the car was coming I was ready, and then when in the next scene Trash met the 1997 crew I was ready AF, because at this point I was sure that Binggrae was going to somehow end up with Joon Hee. And what happens next? He meets this random girl, for whom he seems to not care at all, he does not answer her calls, never shows up at any meetings with her and all I can think of at this point is how awkard it's going to be when he's going to have to reject her, because clearly she's crushing on him hard. And then the next scene, he sees her for the 2nd time in his life and miraculously he is in love. Next scene 15 years later BAM she's his wife. What a love story. What a way to ruin the show. Goodbye. I can't even bother watching the rest.
