Someone please help me . Since this is a reboot of the whole Tomb series, I already know the story is going to…
volume 1-2 of the novel series - time raiders season 1, the lost tomb 1 (2015), the lost tomb 2 (2019) - for these 3 series, they essentially overlap and i highly rec just watching time raiders instead of both of the lost tomb's volume 3 - the lost tomb 2: explore with the note, not to be confused w 'the lost tomb' series above, also this one barely follows or works well with the others in the series so many either just skip or watch as a stand alone volume 4-7 - ultimate note, overlaps a lot w 'the lost tomb 2: explore with the note', this is definitely one of the best in the series, casting was perf and the details are pretty good volume 8 - no show yet made for this one, but i do know the hopeful plan for the production of 'time raiders' is to remake all 8 volumes with the current cast so im hopeful!
along side the main story, theres sooo many sequel adaptations too, the timeline for that is basically adventure behind the bronze door, its based on the first sequel and it explains more into zhang qiling/xiaoge's past and family if youre interested tomb of the sea, many people loveee this one and i thought it was pretty good!! i never read the sequel novels to daomubiji so idk if its similar or not the reunion series, haven't watched so im not sure
side stories: archives: the nanyang mystery, more about the zhang family, not out yet there are also adaptations of 'the mystic nine', one from 2016 and one upcoming but just know theyre completely separate honestly and have nothing to do w the iron triangle, just a shared/similar universe
essentially my recommended shortened timeline is time raiders + ultimate note for the main story, and the adventure behind the bronze door + tomb of the sea for the sequels
Why is this show so popular? Anyone give me a reason to watch, I'll listen! Just wanna hear cause 8.8 is crazy…
it think its bc it feels very new and fresh!! theres a huge circulation of dramas rn and a lot of ppl said this show got them out of their kdrama slump
plus most of the cast is all relatively not as seen on the main screen, so a more creative plot + new faces just make it seem so unique and helps it stand alone within this extremelyyy dense lineup of currently airing shows
plus the action scenes are choreographed very well and even those seem extremely creative and fun!! the og material it spawned from was extremely well known bc of how good it was as well, so the popularity of that plus how good this adaptation has started has boosted its popularity for sure
