I've got to Ep. 9 and I'm afraid I'm going to have to drop it. It's the first time I've dropped a currently airing KDrama because it was that bad. In general, you're supposed to make the viewer feel some sort of emotional connection towards the characters (eg. Park Saeroyi), or hate a character (Yiseo), but the characters just feel a bit bland, I can't connect to any of the characters. Yiseo isn't even a sociopath/psycho, she's just a someone with a narcissistic problem and that's coming from someone with a psychology degree.
I like that they tried to be progressive with representation in general, and pointing out the systematic racism in Korean society, considering they knew this was going to be distributed on Netflix, but still a no from me I'm afraid.
