In the book, this conversation/argument happens on the horse after XZ grabs FCY from the field and they ride away. They fight and argue. XZ's crazy self tells FCY she should not have risked her life and if he died, she should just leave with her sister and marry someone sane, then XZ forces another kiss, thunder claps and it starts raining. He then back tracks and tells her she's never going to bear anyone's children except his haha! FCY punches him which knocks him off the horse and she rides back to camp by herself. XZ laughs on his back lol. I loved the scene so much in the book.

There are leaked photos of them face to face on the horse but it looks like they cut it all out and chose to just have the scene play out in the woods, and no forced kiss which I'm not opposed to either

lol tbf, in the book it was winter/snowing for the longest time too hahah

omg what?? that can't be. this is THE scene. you cannot have this drama without her finding out he lied to her and him trying to reason with her while on the horse and thunder clapping!! :'(

i can't believe we're already a fourth of the way! this is torturous after waiting for so long, but i also don't want it to end! i love them so much.

lol! they were both in the book. we didnt get gongsun yin's character until after the village when xz went back to his army. they were mostly together at battle camp. he didn't meet fl this early nor was he a headmaster, that's all new. li huaian as well. i believe we met him after the village when fcy was on the run after getting split up from the zhaos and her sister and ran into him briefly.

people thought it was zlh too in TPR right?

it's not him. i also thought it was him but some parts did not sound like him to me so i rewatched a bunch of clips from interviews and other series too. his voice is lower.

he didn't dub himself though.. it's a really good voice actor who's dubbed for zlh before which is understandable why everyone is confused.

I watched parts of The Best Thing to compare because I thought I was going crazy but I don't think it's him :(. The voice actor is good, but ZLH just has a lower voice.

omg haha there's such a wide spectrum between Xie Wei and He Suye! Like everyone has said, Xie Zheng is more like XW in the sense that they're such good "red flags" imo but he was never mean just to be mean to FCY. I couldn't tell if XW even liked FL at points, he's definitely a truer red than XZ. They're both pretty crazy and obsessed when it came to their FLs overall though. XZ is just as ruthless, if not more since he's a general and basically went on a whole killing spree if my memory serves me correctly thinking it'd make him forget FL. Judging from just the trailers, they seem to have lighten up his character though, so I think he's probably more tame than XW! Still love them both. HSY is just a baby ha :)

I didn't read SOKP so I'm comparing book XZ and drama XW.

I mean, it's never a bad idea. Live adaptations and books are their own experiences.

With that said though, I thought it was worth it. it was a thick book, and it took me a while to get through the first part (FL's village). I started it because I couldn't wait anymore, but it was definitely a good experience!! Once you get past the village, the pacing of the book picked up. When clips were leaked, I could guess what each clip was depicting from the book. It was all very exciting to me!
