No.they are still not promoting the drama.they only promoting xu kai's character "shen run" for xu kai's sake but they aren't making reservations or spend money to promote the drama like actors fandoms usually do.the boycott is still ongoing.
Some fans made reservations for xu kai's sake but as you can see from reservation count it's not the majority at all (check reservations on xu kai other dramas for comparison)

xk never tried to maintain a specific persona.he have a big fandom but his fandom is consist of people who got to know him through his dramas,unlike traffic stars who have more ways to attract new fans like singing,dancing,constant variety show appearance which xk don't have.his acting is the only way he attract new fans

and traffic actors don't play all type of roles.they usually stick to idol genre and never try other genre until they get old or lost popularity.xu kai is different in that aspect too.he never stick to one genre and express his desire to explore different genres since the beginning.unfortunately his agency is his worst enemy which made him lost good opportunities to explore new genres in his early days.
