I've fallen head-over-heels for this little drama. It's super funny and carefree, yet doesn't forget to give us little, as you said, "nuggets of wisdom" that can go beyond the situations of the characters in the show. My favorite characters are Min Do Hee and Lee Jae Hwan, the Whipped Cream couple, but I love pretty much everyone in the house for one reason or another. It's a little heartwarming, a little slice-of-life, and a bit of birth secret madness (that thankfully doesn't focus on that so much that it drags everything down) that warms my heart every week!
Lol. It may be teeny-bopper cliche, but at least it's not makjang. I actually enjoy some of the characters, especially Do Hee and Ken's characters. :) Also, if anyone else is watching and can tell me who did the rendition of The Classics IV's "Spooky," I'd really appreciate it. I love that song and it was a good cover version.
I don't know about anyone else here but I'm waiting until the final episodes release next week to drama binge.…
Whatever. I think Sung Gyeom is incredibly selfish and possessive. I'd never go with a guy like him, a pretentious stick in the mud with zero personality or emotions. He's completely not worth it at all. Also, I'm not fond of this series because it's never focused on the mystery. I never said I liked it much, but I'd have liked it more if Sung Gyeom was the one who was murdered.
i'm disappointed dramafever got the exclusive streaming rights to this. unless you want to pay them $9.99 (more…
That sucks. I hate the DF app, and I'm not willing to pay that much per month (It's a tad ridiculous, considering the vikipass is 3.99/mo. and I like the subs much more) for crappy buffering. I've only watched one show on there, and I was disgusted by how many times I had to stop and wait for the thing to buffer.
I just noticed they lowered the episode count :'( why? :'(
It's really popular internationally, but it was not even reaching 0.90% in the ratings in Korea. Since international popularity doesn't count toward ratings, TvN decided to shorten Surplus Princess to 10 episodes. They gave an excuse for it, but it's really the ratings.
I love Wang Yu, Ta Hwan, and Tal Tal. All three of them are such wonderful, engaging characters. So many people on here dislike Wang Yu because he isn't the most handsome fellow, but he and Tal Tal have the most sense of any of the characters, except maybe SungNyang herself. If I could choose a ruler, it would be either Tal Tal, Wang Yu, or SungNyang....just saying. (I love everyone, though.)
Why? He isn't disgusting. He's the most righteous character on the show other than Tal Tal. What did he do that was disgusting? Nothing. Even though I like Ta Hwan, Wang Yu is a more sensible and logical leader with a good head on his shoulders. Shallow, much?
I never understood before those people that write fanfiction, imagining all sort of alternate stories and endings…
I think he's definitely attracted to Nyang. I saw that "no more reading quizzes" back when she was training for the consort competition as an admission, albeit subtle, that he couldn't take it anymore. He was finding her wits incredibly alluring, so he stopped the quizzes before he lost himself completely. Of course, I'm not finished with the show yet, but I agree. TalTal/Nyang is lovely as well, and should have been explored more.
I still don't know which guy I want her with. I like them both. OMG, that Namja Ramyun reference...I died laughing. I love Kim Seul Gi's character and I love Big too. All the parody in this is right up my alley.
Gong Hyo Jin is such a pig.
Lose some weight, goddamn it.
People who call other people names like "fat" are probably pretty insecure about themselves. Besides, she's beautiful and talented and she looks healthy.
Also, thanks for writing an article on this show!
