Truthfully I was skeptical because they brought on two Korean idols as the leads. From watching "Oh! My Lady"…
I remember reading somewhere that they had planned on using Taiwanese actors, but everyone bailed on the project. Plus, using popular music stars garners publicity. I was skeptical about this too, but it has worked fairly well.
So funny. Every episode has a message, a new friend, and hence and new animal. I started this drama on a whim, but fell in love with it instantly. Love Yama, Taipi, and Yuto here!
Kame has been and will forever be my ichiban. His acting is so versatile and I truly enjoy every performance he gives--whether in acting or KAT-TUN. much love to kamekun<3
This is the drama that introduced me to Yamapi, and subsequently made me fall more in love with Kame. Maki has always been one of my favorite actresses, so the combination was perfect. It's so witty and funny, yet filled with enough substance below the comedy to be remembered. <3
This show is one of my fav. dramas of 2011--for all of the things its criticized for, actually. The acting is okay (I love Kame, though), and the special effects are kinda hokey. However, I see this as a homage to the time period that the original anime was made (the late sixties) and the cheesy-like monster movies of that period. In that, YNB deserves all love and respect for its genre. (And Kame in low-rise pants, just saying)
I love the movie when I don't compare it to the drama. I think JGS and Matsujun play good versions of Momo, but in different ways. The j-drama will always be first in my heart, but when I need a case of the giggles, I'll definitely be turning to this film.
