I’ll still watch it but if the revenge isn’t handled fairly it’s going to turn a lot of viewers off. This is Disney+/Hulu we’re talking about. They can go dark and gritty and they have but that doesn’t make it any less gross or frustrating. That whole part with the lawyer not helping him at all is already triggering and honestly enough to make viewers want revenge themselves. So yeah I’ll still watch but they can leave that part out. Dialogue is fine but I don’t need to see it showcased the way it was in the movie. Despicable.

Nope. As the one individual said below I there are other ways they can do it. There were frustrating things in the move prior to that scene that were already egging me on for revenge. I’ve seen enough prison movies and revenge flicks to also note this.

Yay! The trailer just came out and looks good. I just hope they don’t add that one scene in prison that really angered me (it was implied, but still). Like, prison is brutal but dang, we don’t have to have that scene to convey it. Heck, just add it in the dialogue and be done with it. But I’ll be watching! JCW <33333

That’s what makes it better because then we anticipate the villain’s downfall. At least that’s how I see it.

The first episode gave me an eerie feeling. I know people might have mentioned this (can’t scroll down fast enough), but it’s still a bit unsettling given the coincidental timing like Family Guy. Alas, I want to finish this drama but I don’t want to invest into something if the ending is so hopeless and unsatisfying. I can accept one character death maybe, and a few stressful close calls…but I can’t do open-ended and “realistic realistic.” The tone of the drama isn’t sunshine and rainbows but I still want to root for the protagonists’ happy ending that’s met halfway with a dash of hope and healing. Nothing bright but nothing bloody dark either, just a nice middle. Vincenzo’s ending made me mad but K2’s was decent. Maybe a mix of those endings but less “good guy” deaths.

Anywho, onto the second episode.

The soundtrack is amazing, and the cast is so cute. They just don’t make quirky romances like this anymore. This will always have a special place in my heart.

I thought it was evenly paced. The first two episodes are pretty straightforward as far as establishing the motive goes. It barely takes 2 episodes to make it completely clear.

Nope. “Study Group” and “Good Boy” share undeniable similarities in tone, delivery, and narrative rhythm. “Study Group” is purposefully chaotic, unapologetically goofy, and full of charm—a motley crew swept into a mess of petty criminals and over-the-top corruption that’s played for drama, flair, and fun. That’s exactly what it is, and it works.
“Good Boy” is cut from the same cloth—it just happens to come with longer episodes and a police-task-force skin. That alone seems to make people weirdly hesitant to admit it’s doing something just as entertaining, just as stylized, and just as self-aware. But it is.

You’re not seeing that because you didn’t even make it past episode 3. Which is fine. But don’t pretend you’re assessing it in good faith when you’ve barely scratched the surface. The show isn’t flopping—it’s just easier to dismiss something when you’ve already decided it doesn’t deserve a second glance.

And that’s absolutely fine. But I still think that’s a cheap deduction. But thanks for sharing.

I thought it must be the prison guard he tortured in the first few episodes or someone connected to one of the mafia bosses he killed. Perhaps it was the Russian or the person who gave Min Ju Yeong his first job.

It’s genuinely good. Not cringe, not overly dark, and the cast has great chemistry. If you enjoyed “Study Group”, you’ll definitely like this too. Please don’t let the comments turn you off—it’s either people fixating on Bogum because Kim So-hyun isn’t Hyeri, or others upset it’s not BL, or just folks who only want something super gritty with an ambiguous ending.

I believe you are being too harsh on Kim So Hyun. She has been in the industry for a long time and is very professional. I think she acts just fine. Even the actor who played the villain recognized her efforts. If you don’t like seeing her with Bogum, just say so. It's that simple—you can do it!

I don't understand why people say the leads lack chemistry when their on-screen chemistry was off the charts in the last drama they co-starred in.
