Thanks god... What would this drama even be without Ding Yuxi AND Zhang Haixia? It's just.. I feel like I'm not…
Oh sorry I replied earlier in regards to a different post. The actual post should be: Ding Yuxi posted this as a hint, telling fans to not be too sad: 7.2.136.17.11. Fans decoded this as: 7 = Volume 7 of the novel 2 = Chapter/Section 2 136 = Page 136 17 = Line 17 11 = The 11th character in that line = See you in Xiamen in 30 years.
After Hai Lou stabbed Hai Xia, he collapsed due to the injury. Hai Xia is not dead. Later, Hai Lou carried Hai…
You're a perfect person and I hope your days go on with peace and joy and you find small miracles in everyday life. THIS is the ending. (I am delusional atp. he IS alive.)
1. Wasn't Zhang Haiqi already old and killed by Zhang Haixia? Yet in the last few minutes of the final episode,…
1)Zhang Haiqi is a she/her. She was aging fast because she was poisoned by Mo Yungao, but her old age in normal context isn't a threat to her because she's from the Zhang Family. Depending on how Haixia killed her (we see him "kill Hailou" but it was just a trick on Black Shrimp), she might still be saved. Especially because the person who saves her, his blood has medical properties and is kinda like anti poison. 2) I think Zhang Qiling appears briefly and late because he has many responsibilities, moreover the Zhang family had REALLY chaotic and turbulent situations during the Republican Era, so Zhang Qiling had a lot on his plate.
Censorship did strike quite a few times because there were a lot of uneven edits due to it.
I think it's like he finally realized all of the things haixia did for him and the things haixia went through, that in those final moments he couldn't bear to center his sadness. instead he says thank you - and recognizes haixia's sacrifice, his pain, and shows appreciation. Just my interpretation tho.

Although I DO ship Salt Shrimp (yanxia, louxia idk call it whatever) I honestly don't think them kissing would've contributed anything to the narrative or solved their problems. I don't even ship them as lovers instead I ship them exactly as they are; friendship, family, and a secret third thing which defies all relationship hierarchy. Also, in one of your other comments you call this series dangai, however for context the source material is not a BL novel at all. But! the author himself is pretty supportive of shipping, it's just please don't hold this to censored danmei standards. Though.. yes 😭 please let them have a hug scene. And about the censorship😭💔 Its worse than just skinship censoring! I'm mad about them cutting out Haixia's self harm scenes, Hailou's struggle to fix his expression after Haiqi died, and THE DAMN PINEAPPLE SCENE WITH HAIJIAO. I loved haijiao..
I thought I was being over sensitive thinking like that but yeah y introduce those random snake with memories…
LMAOO 😭 I LOVE U THIS IS HILARIOUS TO IMAGINE. AH YES, ZHANG QILING IS PROBABLY HALF AN ALIEN TOO OR CAN SPEAK ALIEN (are we really REALLY over the fact he speaks to snakes. like you pass through a forest camping and then you see a shadowy man crouching and having a conversation with a snake)

Personally I really disliked the hug scenes in the drama! They get hugs in the worst moments ever (haiqi & haixia in THAT scene) and salt shrimp in the last episode. Y'know a domestic group hug when no one is emotionally imploding or dying would've been great. In retrospect, at least they get hugs. I wish I can personally enter the screen and hug them then hide them under a box where the narrative can't chew them anymore.
Saw edits and people are bashing this drama that wtf was this ending, not watching the show, blaming hailou why…
Although I really love this drama, and I agree with you that Nanpai Sanshu SHOULDN'T get threats over this or lose ratings, I want to explain more why I personally hate some things in the drama. I rated it 10 — i personally dislike the ending. It's not just because it was sad, it is honestly a narrative Injustice to Haixia himself. Despite the drama being marketed as double male lead, Haixia's role as a protagonist is not very central and instead his narrative revolves/ orbits around Hailou. In the very first episode he follows him, protects him, cleans up his messes, loses many things for him. By the end he's suicidal and barely holding on. I think the deviation from the source material is great - based on what I've heard the original novel didn't give Haixia a lot of weight as in here and he doesn't survive for long, though I have to form my opinion after I read Chongqi, then read Southern Archives - regarding Haixia's character, however, it became sloppy by the end. When you take a character and make them carry the plot, act as an anchor, a symbol, a driving force for the plot, an excuse for things to happen, an opportunity to make the protagonist have emotions; I don't think that's meaningful or deep storytelling. I am not only speaking emotionally about this but also objectively. All the narrative choices regarding Haixia really makes me feel helpless and rather frustrated. I also don't want Hailou to suffer. Their love is equal, they just express it in different ways. I will never call Haiqi, Haixia or Hailou emotionless. Most of the things they did was because they loved each other. Even Haiqi who gets criticized for repressing her feelings and being a true Zhang, I see her as someone who loves those two she raised deeply. So no, I don't want Hailou to suffer (being the one left behind is truly the greatest suffering either way, especially for someone as codependent and attached to the people he loves as Hailou) I want the narrative to take Haixia seriously. You can argue that his Black Shrimp arc gives him agency, however I felt like it's just a way to make him suffer more. I love it. Definitely. Despite plot holes and AI and poor explosion scenes. I will definitely read Southern Archives and cherish those characters deeply. It's just I think this really wasn't the best ending. Though I do feel better if I interpret it as Haixia's final act of agency is to escape the tragedy. To be alone. To have the chance to disappear on his own terms (if he's alive. Especially with the hints people have dropped. However, I refuse to see his death as his final act of agency. It was devoted. But nothing more.). I'd like to hear what you think about the way the narrative shaped around Haixia's story.
I supppse he ships himself with every partner of his 🤣
I think it's more like he ships the characters he acts as with the most popular ship in that fandom as a marketing strategy and to feed the fans 😭 lol we love him for it
oh my God i knew it!!!!!!! thank you for giving us hopehttps://www.tumblr.com/yooooowhf/820564670809341952/dont-be-sad-i-have-left-you-with-a-question-at?source=share
