Now I’m quite confused, aren’t they the same yaoi and boys’ love (BL)?
I know Yaoi is used by female in Japanese culture and the term had been around for many decades. Also, I know that in term of BL it is mostly webtoons and non-japan bade manga (and novels) that gets adopted into BL series or movies. Yaoi and BL is similar, no doubt. However, depending on where you live, or where you originated from, Yaoi is mostly Japan (work done by Japanese whether it be manga, anime or novels) while BL is contents made for International viewers. And while I could be wrong by saying this, I’m not saying I’m 100% right either. I do acknowledge there are similarities, but while each term relates to male and male content. They are still different, at least from my standpoint.

Like 4sakeofart said, Yaoi is commonly used in genre of Manga and Anime while BL is used for Live-Action. And while BL can be explicit at times, Yaoi is on another level of its on.
School 2013 is not BL yeah WYEL is the first drama
Janna is right, School 2013 is not BL. Bromance, if we can call it that, but Namsoon and Heungsoo were just friends, at least from the directors and writers point of view. Us, the viewers, are the ones who wished it to be romance between the two characters. School 2013 bromance can be compared to Guardians bromance. The chemistry between the two main characters were amazing both on and off screen, and fans would rather they had been a couple than the original couple (at least from what I have read and fmv I have watched.)
Either way, Where Your Eyes Linger is the first Korean BL drama. Although, the first Korean drama to have lgbt couple is Life is Beautiful.
that could be possible bc he literally came out of nowhere + he didn’t do anything to the story
My perspective on the random guy is that, it is Hye Mi’s mother new project (good looking guy to replace Gook who is irreplaceable lmao) since Gook chose to leave to Japan to forget Taejoo.
I treat both of them differently, yet love them equally. The characters are so complex and since the author was…
That part I liked, like keeping faithful to the characters in an exceptional way for censorship that is. And the actors did amazing, I just didn’t like the ending. I hope the ending in the book will be a bit better-
The drama is amazing, not going to lie. Right now I am reading the novel, and I am shocked to know that a lot of information was cut out. For example, Second Master Cheng is more of a playboy in the novel than in the drama where he is a loyal family man. And as for men showing their affection for Shang, well it is there! I mean, it was understandable and reasonable as to why they cut explicit details and homosexual contents since it is a Chinese adopted. Still, the Bromance was great to watch in the drama. As for the novel, it is so Gay and I love it!! But honestly though, if you watch the drama, and then read the novel like I am doing, you will be speechless.

Can't wait to watch and review this.
