I'm usually a sucker for dramas where two broken people find love while healing together, but this drama is making me appreciate when the damaged person finds the person who will endlessly support & encourage them through their healing process. like sang yan is so patient & emotionally intelligent that he knows when to push & when to wait for yi fan to come to him. he said no matter what i will always catch you & he meant it omg

Yeah, all his friends are so understanding & only make jokes about how he never has time for them. I don't think it's that serious either but there have been moments where I would've been upset with him if he were my friend lol. Like that scene where Haoan was going through a lot & called him asking him to hang out bec he needed to tell him something, and Sang Yan was basically like you can always ask me when you need actual help but I can't hang, I gotta figure things out with my girl. Also I agree that friendship is not central to the story, but you can still see how little sang yan prioritizes friendship compared to yi fan who's always there for her bestie & vice versa.

those flashbacks are all from when yi fan wasn't in his life though. also I'm not saying he never hangs out with his friends, just that when they call him to hang out, he's usually saying bro I got things to do (involving yi fan lmao) that's interesting that that's considered bro code
