I mean, he did experience betrayal from a loved one. Not asking for much, just a simple explanation would suffice especially since she only has 3 days to live based on the trailers. Which means that HE HAS TO WIN against Su Ying to save her. If he loses or is late, she dies too. At least, that's how it seems when he makes the decision.
Don't you think if YH was in his place, she would at least explain to him?
Tbh, I'm not arguing much cause I understand your point of view too but it's just tooo frustrating for me now 😭😭😭 He is definitely a MUCH better lead than the rest of the Xianxia leads I've watched.

I understand his actions. He was traumatised by seeing his beloved little elf-sister/daughter/clan member die especially after her parents and relatives all sacrificed themselves for him. He was shaken, afraid and furious all the same time desperate that history should never repeat itself. He never forgave himself and blames 'love' to be cause of his downfall and all the misfortune that occurred.
Now, he's embarrassed. He wanted to protect her but has to hurt the now he loves to save the rest. Better to just get it over with.
And yet... I feel like I cannot forgive him. At least not easily or readily.
He knew how painful real betrayal is BECAUSE IT COMES FROM THE ONE YOU LOVE THE MOST. He had 2 hours to say one line. JUST ONE. Explain the situation, the death and what needs to be done. The heart scale would be in his hands willingly in a matter of minutes. I get that he was embarrassed and frustrated but he should have known better. You don't treat the ones you care about like that.
The fall... He didn't even hold her and gently lay her on the ground. He stabbed her and left... *poof* It looked like she has more chances of dying from a head injury than a heart injury.
The kids MUST be saved yes. Her heart MUST be taken back yes. BUT you at least OWE her one sentence for all the kindness, compassion, love and friendship she showed to you. You can explain when you come back later. If you're angry enough to stab and apologise, you can just let her know why you're apologising. A sentence never exceeds over a minute. That's an insignificant part of 2 hours.
I thought I would scream and shout after this episode (I PROBABLY WILL) but for now, I'm just disappointed.
