I personally believe that Xiao Chen did feel remorse, but, understandably, he did not want to give in to his guilt, as both his parents had passed away because of his close relationship with Lu Feng. Yes, he did annoy me as well, but if I were in his position, I probably would have done the same. Additionally, I found Lu Feng not to really fit as the “devoted partner” as you describe him to be. In no way should it be necessary to inflict psychological abuse on a person or try to make them “jealous”, since it is inhumane and can in no manner be excused. Otherwise, I definitely agree and hope for more Chinese bls which feature creative concepts! :))
