Warning: This is a BROMANCE, not a BL.No romance.No relationship development beyond close friends.No hugs.No kisses.No…
Damn... are you camping in the comments to get reactions out of people by trashing this drama for no reason at all? Seriously though, this illusion of queer content being sexual and all about the body and actions needs to go. Why does it need to aim for any of the things you listed to be a decent bl? Queer romance is always expected to SHOW IT ALL to be valid and real which is bullshit and discriminating. You don't need to like it - go off and mark it as dropped but obviously you get the kick out of hating on it in the comments. Unnecessary and childish to attack the actors and rate their idol career as well.

Yes all of this! there is a difference between a romcom having dubcon elements without ever addressing the obvious…
I think that's the main issue........ lack of control and strong opinions on fictional content. I can write a review and rate on here but others might feel like that's not enough anymore. Though MDL bl comment sections have a strange dynamic anyways. Well, let's hope we get to enjoy more drama series that deal with darker content in a new creative way. I'm excited for the last few episodes.^^

I agree - TharnType is a classic example as it has a strong fanbase despite the controversy. I'm not sure how to explain this but recently I noticed a tendency to criticize darker elements in bl drama. I appreciate if it's handled with care and creativity. Tropes and healthy fluffy romance is fun but why is it so hard for people to accept other styles? We should be thankful that some early bl standards are obsolete and slowly but surely get replaced.

Just something I want to comment on while it's still airing: this drama is surprisingly well done... acting is natural, not stiff, not over the top and the chemistry is on fire. They portray the characters struggles and inner feelings really well. I like that it's not overdoing it with tropes and cringy skinship just to keep viewers interested enough to keep going. Instead the storyline seems to unfold steadily but in a slow pace, which I like. They are not playing games but still deliver imo. I also want to add my thoughts about what people call 'red flag and toxic' - telling others to avoid watching even - you can choose freely what you want to watch and what to drop but we need to stop confusing romanticized toxic bls that play with sensitive topics for the money grab and viewership and well executed dramas that follow a storyline and deal with issues as sth that actually exists and happens in real life. I know this is not high budget or has many episodes but I feel like they're doing a really good job with such a complex topic so far. The psychological tag fits here. Taehyun's self harm, intrusive thoughts, manipulative and careless, even mocking behavior here is a trauma response, while Dayeol has an anti-social character. He can't express emotions with words and can't communicate well with others. Not to be dramatic but it feels nice seeing characters with flaws that don't just resolve or vanish in one episode. The only thing that needs to go is whitewashing in k-drama but that's a well known issue on its own.

I've watched countless bl dramas for years and I have a handful of favorites (that I'm very particular with) but never has a series made it SO FAST in my top five! This is so wholesome it really makes my heart feel things. The best thing about it is that they're not even trying hard at all... nothing feels forced of anything, it just flows perfectly natural. That pinky finger holding might be the most romantic and pure portrayal of developing feelings of love I've ever seen. PLEASE.

I feel sorry for the people that are missing out on this gem just because they have that 'no more highschool bls' slogan holding up their head. I understand preferences but it's become ridiculous to hate on a series just for the sake of it. Please give this series lots of love! The cast deserve it!! The songs are addictive as well. I'm so happy GMM released this at the end of the year because this. gives me happiness in the cold season. <3

This series is doing soooo good! Like it feels very natural and the emotions are on point. I appreciate that it really touches on topics on a whole different level that I expected it. Family, loss and character's feelings. People might complain it's too much talking and they feel it's boring but I think it's beautiful and done in a sensitive and not rushed manner. I love this and ofc the rating on MDL is f**cked up as always.

I think sometimes it's also the lack of direct available translation or a word not really having an equivalent…
I agree with what you said in terms of language and I appreciate your example. I realized this with many terms that you call people, sayings and jokes as well. Though the wife and husband talk leave me a bit uncomfortable still. I feel like it's less the term itself but the context it's used in. It clearly is connected to power imbalance (nevermind the sexual orientation) and I noticed it was part of the plot in some other BLs already. For instance this scene in Bad Buddy when Pat was in the hospital and they had that talk about calling someone the wife. I do believe dialogue should be revised sometimes to adapt to new standards. Just what came to my mind when reading the comments here.

moreover why is everyone saying the acting is bad? id say both the leads are doing a fairly well job at making…
This is the most sane and accurate comment I've seen in this comment section so far. It's such a gentle and overall cinematographic vibe. Also the many references to other series, the natural chemistry and slowly coming together character portrayal is well done. I don't get why people hate on it so much already.

This comment section is by far the most toxic one I've seen in a while on here. Major movie critics all over MDL, we've been knew but this is really sth else. Can you just take it easy for once and say you don't like sth and be simple about it instead of shredding a drama to pieces that isn't even bad????? For real... there's a lot worse out there if you're into the genre for a longer period of time and this series is FINE. It has its flaws for sure but overall it's quite wholesome and the actors are really charming. It's non toxic (maybe this is sth a lot of people here love a bit too much???? if you can't live without a toxic and problematic plot... idk what to say) It's so tiring... there's people who actually enjoy this series and I even enjoy the flaws like the awkward romantic scenes. It's not that deep. I'll list some pros for anyone who wants to give this series a shot: beautiful scenery (this uni campus... wow!), overall charming actors, the music!!!!!!!!, force/book are endearing! would love to have them as a main couple again, CUTENESS! That being said - don't make a big deal out of it and let others enjoy the series. You can choose to not like it, be critical without leaving hate and overall rude comments.

Why stick to basic when you can widen the genre? I've read all the replies and I think you need to be more acceptable…
Coming across what you've written here in general I just wonder why you seem so ANGRY and furious? You can just say 'I don't like this drama and this is why' but you make it a mission to convince or kinda gaslight others to believe them liking and supporting the drama/actors/director is wrong and whatever negative word you can find to argue their opinion. That being said you will surely find a way to rip apart my short comment, too.

Funny that everyone seems to be complaining about the drama part in this ep. It's not even that far off imo?? These guys have been fighting over mediocre shit since ep 1 and just now you're like all surprised some other guy brought a gun in over a lost rugby game lol It's even more dramatic in the novel but I kinda liked how they scripted it for the series. Also Pat being just grazed is better than going all k-drama and him almost dying. It kept the suspense while the real drama is gonna start soon. Anyway, why is no one talking about PatPran breaking all the bl cliche norms and being the very opposite of toxic?!
