Does anyone know who the actor playing Bai Ling (Mu Han's General or whatever he was) is? I cant find him in the credits but I am sure I have seen him in another show somewhere.
Personally, I was initially going NOOOOO but then the episode continued and by the very end... I was okay with…
Thats a really nice way of seeing it. I guess it was predestined to end in tragedy and they made the most of it. It was a sad story, not being able to love each other openly without any mask or in their own identity. I was sad though because even the SML didnt get his happy ending and realised too soon that his love was Jin Yao and not Han Anning or Shu.... it was kinda sudden though because he dedicated a lot of his time chasing after the two others...
Loving it so far! The main leads have great chemistry and the FL is so cute. In certain angles she rminds me a little of Hu Yi Yao - I dont know if anybody else sees this? Ryan Ren is very seductive and at times they are both hilarious. We are almost at the middle of this show and I dont want it to end!!
I am on episode 10 and this is so good and for a short drama it looks pretty decent in terms of budget. I like the cgi, the costumes and everyone playes very well. Ok it might be a little cliche, but there are so many shows it is hard to be completely original. As long as it is fun, I am ok with it and I love Chen Fang Tong
ML in cdrama or kdrama always in deep love, they saw that by their action. In most of drama ML more loves FL.I…
Yes I think you are right, in a lot of cdramas or KDramas the ML is more verbal or expressive about his love than the FL. I know its not a nice thing ti say, but I kinda like that haha. It feels more passionate that way!
ok, I just finished it and I have to say that overall I loved it. Did it have its faults? Of course and sometimes blatant flaws, but the chemistry between the leads was so satisfying that it overwhelmed. Might just be in my top 5 couples in a show ever... I felt sorry for Chi Ye although he was deranged in the end, because the actor really showed a vulnerable side as well, not just all mad. I dont get why the FL got hated on. I mean I get that she hurt Jiahe with the long game she played in order to uncover Chi Ye and kinda broke his heart, but are we forgetting that Jiahe did the same thing almost brutally on their wedding day? Not only did he break up with her but he told her he never loved her etc.... Fan Zhi Xin was awesome and I think in this drama he shone, and was it my idea or was Jiahe shown to love Nuo more than she was shown to love him? Not that it was true, i dont know but his actions spoke of a deep love and when he was crying over losing her, it really moved me... He should get an award for this portrayal!!!
I have watched up to ep 20 and I like it so far. ML+FL have great chemistry. I really like how they play with each other. I also like the way ML does love her but still has his own plans and schemes for revenge, kinda like Xie Wei in The Story Of Kunning Palace- different setting but we knew he loved her, but had a lot of things to do... SML is not very likeable, she is a gold digger, but at least in the later episodes we see that it hasnt been easy for her and she is still human with feelings and guilt etc. SML I still havent figured oyt if he is a good or a bad apple. He is mysterious... I also know if FL's father is the bad guy. ML goes off his fathers diary but maybe thats not the whole story. And I honestly have no idea why FL mother gave the shares to the ex husband and what kind of agreement they have...
I decided to sub it, ok.[FINISHED EP 24/24]https://www.bilibili.tv/id/space/1125179129or https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/14oh6Cp2kfYMFku1pX-e7YB_X_tFs9LyE
I am not sure yet on the specifics, but from the very start, even in the first episode it was clear that the ML…
Yes, your points were more evident to me after episode 15 and I am starting to agree with you. Although it remains good and intriguing, I think they could have done a better job integrating those flashbacks..and at the right times to make us understand and not run around like a headlesss chicken haha. I am holding hope that it will all make sense in the later episodes.

I think that there are a lot of points still to be addressed in the later episodes, so I hope they dont leave us hanging, but I am kinda enjoying, or rather I was enjoying till ep 15... Now I am not sure how they are going to wrap everything up and not confuse us. But I like ML+FL and this kind of tortured love is right up my alley. But seriously how does one reject someone's love, refuse help, trap him with treason accusations and not remember. What happened then? I am intrigued to know if it will make sense
I just watched the first 6 episodes and it looks good. Artistically I like the cinematography and how it is filmed and the songs are quite good. Dai Gao Zheng acts well as always and he shines in those passionate roles. The trope is a bit common, but I love FL and SML. SML is super creepy and powerful in his role as well. I still want to know what happened between them ad how they lost touch. FL is so pretty, I watched her recently in Bound By Sin and Born To Die and she was excellent in both... <3 So far so good.
Lol how the heck does the ml planned everything ... This is so ridiculous and outlandish.. Nothing make sense...…
I am not sure yet on the specifics, but from the very start, even in the first episode it was clear that the ML was playing some kind of long game. He already knew and expected everything that the chancellor and potentially the emperor would do/was doing, and I think in episode 4 or 5, ML's guard said cryptically" they took the bait"... we were not sure what he meant.. Was it the remaining members of the Xiao Clan, was it the Emperor's spies? I think in the following episodes we will know more... Imo ML treated FL badly for show because he wanted the chancellor and the others to believe that he wasnt saving the FL but rather he was keeping her alive either for revenge, or lust and not because he was suspecting that there was something fishy with the whole Xiao clan being condemned as traitors...
I started watching this and I am enjoying it, although it really is somewhat like other revenge cdramas. I love Li Jiu Lin and the fl I saw in BLind Woman and she was quite good. A little confused about who is whose father, but that might be the English translation which leaves a lot to be desired imo...so I might wait till ti comes out with better subs...
I just watched the first six episodes and artistically I like the cinematography and the music as well as the starting and ending credits, Its a weird thing to say, but I like it. As for the show, I am not convinced yet about the motivations behind ml and fl actions as shown in the drama, both in the past and now. If someone speaks Chinese and maybe things get lost in the English translation, could they clarify?
1.The Male lead, although a general was some sort of hostage in FL's mansion, like a hostage prince or something. But he couldnt read or write if it wasnt for the FL as he said in episode 6? So they grew close, if she taught him to read/write. (imo as she acts in the flashbacks she looks and sounds very immature- could she teach anyone anything?Apart from pouting?) I think a lot of things should be clarified in flashbacks in the following episodes.
It has not shown a lot about how they fell in love, especially FL acted very childish. Maybe thats how the director wanted her to act? The ML however looked like he was mesmerized by her - or rather by her being good to him, since no one else was? So i can buy it for him. The actor did a decent job, although he looks a little stiff. I like them both, though, they have chemistry.
2. How did he lose his ability to walk? Probably through torture, because he was captured and interrogated? that is why he is blaming her? 3. Can that really be cured through blood drinking? o_0 In the context it was shown, his immediate standing up, looked like he made an effort to grab her, so maybe it was his longing of her that gave him the strength and it wasnt the blood?
4. Probably everything is a misunderstanding because when they agreed to elope together, her younger brother saw them, so I kinda believe he was the reason ML was captured and the FL really didnt betray him?
5. If ML was really cruel enough to slaughter her parents in front of her, then why didnt he kill the rest of her family members i.e her younger brother, Could it have been a trick?
Because if it wasnt, I cant think of any way she could fall in love with him and ignore that. Although it was alluded that they were already in love, so that is interesting because that complicates feelings.
Anyways I am not that appalled by ML's cruelty, not because he doesnt deserve criticism but first it happens in the past, where slavery and such things were widespread and accepted. It just shows a reality, it doesnt mean it promotes it. It just shows the harsh living conditions of slaves etc And I am not entirely convinced that everything is as simple or as black and white as it looks. So I will keep watching, because I find it interesting so far.
I just finished this drama and I really loved it! From beginning to end it was intelligent and fun and serious and every character had motivations that you could wrap your head around and not mere stupidity like in some other dramas. Well done. I really loved the chemistry between the two leads as well.
and if she is, what does she look the same and both of the look about the same age. I think they made a mistake…
Thanks so much for clarifying that. Watching the later episodes I think it showed that they are step siblings and I guess he consideres her mother, his mother as well since his father married her and she treats him well? I liked how close they were as a family even though they are not blood related. Her step brother is a good person. I thought he was not good in the first episodes.
Ryan Ren is very seductive and at times they are both hilarious. We are almost at the middle of this show and I dont want it to end!!
