i grew up watching a lot of the 90s TVB dramas and this is just one of my all time fav modern series. I love the all star casts and the mature/deep storytelling of this series. It doesn't have just one ML or one FL, it has multiply leads and it keeps you on your toes wondering who will ended up pairing with who and who will have tragic ending or happy ending. You will cry and laugh with the leads and you will grow and SEE character growth along the way, but with all long dramas, there's fillers and boring parts that are side story, so yes, you may need the FWD button from time to time. however, the main characters storylines keeps the drama interesting and easily enjoyable so you will not mind it being 65 episodes long. It drama follows Julian Cheung's character as he entered his 1st day on the job as the head manager of the police team/division. young, naive and takes his job very seriously.
if you love investigations, detective, family dramas, and a good old fashion romance with realistic expectation of how relationship works, this drama has it all.
it's old but definitely a classic, a keeper and one that i have rewatched a thousand times.
i was hoping to like this series- but it fell flat for me. I ended up dropping this series and couldn't finish. I couldn't get attached to the FL and her journey. each time she's tries to solve a case, she's captured or passed out and when she wakes up...she's in a a diff outfit/female clothing...like the bad guys changed her everytimes she blacked out...?! huh?
The ML is good but as he continues to grow his relationship with the FL...i can't help but see the comparison of his head size next to the FL. with each new episode goes by..his head seems to be bigger and bigger next to her and it became a visual problem for me. They didn't seem to match well or look compatible to me. I got disconnected with their chemistry and didn't feel it.
This series is definitely lighthearted and not as realistic- if you want a drama to fill in a gap while you're waiting on a completion or another drama- or a hangover drama (one you want to watch while you're trying to get over another one) i would say give it a try- it wasn't my cup of tea but i didn't feel like i wasted my time to give it a shot.

- i know a lot of people compared this with ASL and TMOPB and i have tried watching both of those series but could never finished it. THIS series on the other hand was way more compelling and interesting. the overall arc was intriguing and it keeps your attention. you will want to keep watching to find out had really happened or what was going on. the pace of the series was good- i didn't realized i had finished all 59 episodes long! it didn't feel draggy as most long series tend to do.
so if you're like me- weren't sure about another xianxia if you didn't like ASL/TMOPB, give this a try!
