Zhou Jun's gf Yao Xin was sexually exploited by Wei Jin in exchange for a promise of promotion. However he never…
I get the murder attempt and why it was so. Although I don't understand why she would knowingly risk her life like this. Even mentioning she might be dead in the recording. But that I get. What I don't understand is should I perceive her as a good girlfriend who was in an unfortunate situation (in terms of the intimacy with boss or sexual harassment) or was she unfaithful to her boyfriend since she accepted (reluctantly) in turn for promotion? Like ideally a good person at least as someone ina relationship would never should accept this proposal. Was she pressured into accepting this proposal ? Could she not have disagreed with this? Or did she agree to to it because she was scared the boss would harass her anyway. So she did it in the pretext of promotion . I guess I just can't seem to understand her in terms of if she was a good girlfriend in an unfortunate situation or not. The drama shows it as if she accepts the deal the boss made. But yeah confused about this
Regarding XHS mom, she was unable to bear the stress and emotional burden of being a criminal defense lawyer's…
Ohh. I guess the novel version seems much better and makes better sense. I just cant forgive a mother who ignores her son completely like this. At least not without an apology. If like you said she visits him in the hospital and is on touch with him through calls then that makes much more sense. Other wise who is she protecting?. Does she think it's okay if the son is in danger and she will just keep her distance from him? I get it may be no to endager the sister but she should at the very least keep in touch with him and frickin visit him in the hospital when needed as in the novel. Thanks for your response.
I liked this series. It was very refreshing. I just don't understand some of the cases towards the end about sexual harassment. I feel they could have done that better. The leads schoolmates girlfriend situation was very vague, or maybe I just don't understand. Did she agree to be intimate with the boss in exchange for promotion or something?? Isint that like such a bad thing?? Like was she forced to do this or did she make a choice to do this? Of course the boss got what he deserved and was completely annoying. But I was very confused about this aspect. Maybe someone can help me with this. I also did not like how they brushed off what the mother of the ML did to him. She completely ignored and abandoned her child simply because he chose a profession she did not like or scared off. Who was she trying to protect? Also it was resolved as if the leads and the father should have apologized and she accepts their apology in some way whereas it should have been the other way around. Other than these aspects and the small over reaction from FL in ep 14 I liked the show and it was really enjoyable. I wished the second couple got more screen time though.
What ep do they learn about each other's first love/novel/diary?
- ML gets to know FL liked him 10 years ago in 1st episode itself ( but he is unsure if she likes the real him) - FL gets to know that ML knew her and in turn about the novel and the fact that it was about him in ep 13 (end) ( but she does not know he likes her as well) - from ep 15 she slowly understands the ML likes her as well by the end of episode 19 or 20 she is sure if this fact. Now both of them know they like each other and it is kind of like a dating phase but not officially together - ep 23 end FL gets to know about ML liking her for 10 years as well - ep 24 starting itself they get together for good.
Genuine question, is it actually mutual love and understanding? As in they show up and support and love each other…
Woww , you beautifuly put one of the most fustrsting points about cdrama I find these days. I am fine if the lack of effort is addressed properly and they resolve it and move forward as an equal couple. But most of the time it's pushed to the background not addressed and acts as if this is how it should be. Ps. I don't know how it is in this drama since I have not watched it yet. I'm afraid of the same thing you are
Add another one to the disappointment pile.I know this drama has sky-high ratings and a sea of glowing reviews.…
Yeah sadly, what you say is mostly what I felt as well. I did watch all the episodes from start to end, but that's mainly because I love the leads. But yeah as you said was not as good as I expected it to be.
Great recap! I felt the same way about all your points—so much so that I initially gave it a luke warm rating.…
Yeahh exactly. I think for me I went into this seeing the hype around the drama and these very forced coincidences and made up rules to make song Han go from nothing to be able to marry a princess?? Where did that come from. It felt like all the conflicts were forced. The characters took unwarranted decisions and acted as if they had no choice. And as you said the clearly evident plot holes also kept me from enjoying this drama. If I went into this just for watching it for time pass I might have enjoyed it more.
I just finished watching this drama and I’m really unsure what to think about it. I really enjoyed it for the…
Really well put. I honestly don't understand the hype around this drama. The direction felt good in some episodes and felt there were sudden skips or choppy editing in some others. I guess I really have different tastes than most. I felt the same about "The Prisoner of Beauty". I guess these are just not for me personally.
In terms of historical or costume drama, I have not seen one that I could rate a 10 but here are some of the ones I enjoyed.
If you like the revenge trope similar to Blossom: - The Double (it's not perfect but felt it better than Blossom) Costume Dramas: - Coroner's Diary - Princess Royal (The ending is a bit rushed but I enjoyed the rest) - Fated Hearts - How dare you
If you like romance :
- Be passionately in love (Hidden Gem and personal favorite) - The Best thing - Shine on me
These are just some, which you may already have watched 😅. But I enjoyed these.
Oh my God. this is my thoughts exactly. For some time I put off watching the drama because of some negative comments.…
Yeahh exactly. The Birthday moments solidified it for me. There are Too many dramas where ML is mostly the only one who puts in all the effort. In this the feelings from both the leads were made very clear and it was evident how much they cared for each other. There were Soo many highlights moments between the leads and were never over shadowed by side characters.
This drama is sooooo damn good .... Definitely one of my favourite.... The only drama where there's no intimate…
Oh my God. this is my thoughts exactly. For some time I put off watching the drama because of some negative comments. But when I finally did, this turned out to be probably in my top 3 drama (at least in terms of romance). The characters and relationships are Soo good. And this one of the very few drama where it stayed interesting and good (maybe even better) even after they get together. It was such a mature relationship, with meaningful effort from BOTH sides. There were so many highlights to remember this by and certainly has high rewatch value.
Yes, they have to. It was a very difficult warring time back then, if you're not cunning enough, kiss your entire…
I completely understand this. But where I find the problem is the FL tantrums when she finds out the ML was investigating the letters before sending them. I mean what else can one expect? And the funny thing was that she infact actually was sending secret info that gave the others strategic advantage. I understand why FL should send the letters but the reaction does not fit their situation. This was just one of the things. There is the ML being oblivious to the cousin intentions for too long and being childish to he FL
I'll just put it here. I really really wanted to like this drama. But I just somehow can't. It's clearly doing something right as there are a lot of raving reviews. But I find this to have a lot of forced conflicts and main leads behaviour to be completely conflicting of either the situation they are in (For the FL) and the buildup and progress of the relationship (for the ML). This is just my opinion, and I am all for the enemies to the lovers trope, but this was just not it for me. The action, and acting are great, and I like the leads (especially the FL) but just can't seem to enjoy how the story is progressing.
Some may like it some may not. I'm about in the middle. The cinimatography is great. The acting is okay. The plot, initially was great, but there really was a lot of inconsistencies in the characters that was honestly off-putting. The drama I would say is very much over rated, like one of the most overrated ones out there, but that is not to say you should not watch it. Its an oscillating situation of good episodes and definitely not good ones. I guess its a decent revenge drama.
I would highly recommend watching, "Be passionately in love" (this is my personal favorite), "Shine on me" , "The Best thing" (was already mentioned by someone else) but watch these if you haven't Im positive you'll like it.
I will never understand the raving reviews for this drama. Love the leads but really could not bear to watch this. I have no problem with this drama except for the script. Just like there are dramas with business and medical themes, s this seems to have a Core misunderstanding theme. As in, just like new medical cases, there are new misunderstandings that don't get resolved for the majority of the drama. I really wanted to like this but sadly it was not the case.
Previously when the drama was released i loved it so much that I ended up being so disappointed that they did…
Yeahh. I was put off by the reviews, but found it to be one of my favorites once I actually watched it. The progression, chemistry, the bickering and the care for each other is soo good and naturally done.
- FL gets to know that ML knew her and in turn about the novel and the fact that it was about him in ep 13 (end) ( but she does not know he likes her as well)
- from ep 15 she slowly understands the ML likes her as well by the end of episode 19 or 20 she is sure if this fact. Now both of them know they like each other and it is kind of like a dating phase but not officially together
