Title Make Up with Mud Spoiler
Haru carried this show ngl, the gaslighting and love bombing was on point and Miku's mother is sadly an accurate portrayal of how women often uphold patriarchal values

wooow i was not expecting ep 3 to end like that, this may be the first jdrama i've seen where the woman isn't passive-aggressive and is just straight up aggressive! i totally understand mitsuki's frustrations but like damn woman that's definitely assault 😱

at least otoya recognizes he's trash but that doesn't make his actions any better. classic case of a man thinking it's totally okay when he steps out on his marriage but dislikes for his wife to do the same 🙄 he already ruined birthday plans with his wife yet he only starts feeling regret while he's about to spend the final night together with his side chick. and then when he suddenly decides to shut it all down because 'he's such a good husband that values his wife and wants to rebuild his marriage', he had the audacity to hit her with the 'let's still be friends tho 🥺' ughhh what a scumbag, like i said i honestly get it but still mitsuki took things way too far 😭

all this after he conveniently forgot to tell mitsuki that his wife essentially gave him the green light to be in an open relationship a year into their affair. mitsuki has way more on the line to lose and she doesn't even have the benefit of a loving family. meanwhile otoya couldn't be honest and tell her he only wanted a physical relationship on his terms, and never had any plans to divorce his wife and definitely no plans to become a stepdad to a child with special needs.

of course ichiko isn't perfect and she high-key started this whole mess by treating intimacy with her husband like an annoying chore. but i'd be lying if i said i'm not looking forward to next episode with rei 😜 he's legit so pretty and his voice is so smooth, it's not fair at all! i can't wait to see her calm sea transform into a raging waterfall lmao and to otoya, i guess i wish him a speedy recovery 💀

it's been a long time since i've enjoyed a drama this much - especially since it wrapped up so cleanly. i will definitely rewatch when the mood strikes!

i also wanted to ask if anyone recommends a similar drama with slow burn romance and amazing chemistry. the closest example i can think of is lost (2021), i feel like that ML also has very expressive eyes!

Title Lost
Rewatched this masterpiece the last few days and it's still hitting hard after a few years. Originally I gave…
knight flower has a slow burn romance and the yearning between the leads reminded me a lot of this drama, so maybe check that out if you're into historical?

Title One Dollar Lawyer Spoiler
first of all, let me say that nam goong min is so hot 😭 kudos to the hairdresser for that glorious perm and wardrobe stylist for occasionally leaving his shirts unbuttoned and makeup artist for letting his melanin shine! now onto my midpoint review:

the main leads' chemistry is amazing and their bickering really reminds me of many OG enemies-to-lovers kdramas! this is my first drama with kim ji eun and she is outstanding, so excited to see more of her work 😁

i've really enjoyed the comedic writing in the opening episodes and i would have probably been satisfied with more $1 cases and hilarious antics between the trio, but damn these last two episodes took it from my fav currently airing kdrama to my fav kdrama of 2022!

i loved nam goong min in chief kim and knew that he always delivers when it comes to comedy but i wasn't expecting such a spectacular dramatic performance! i'm usually one of those people who avoids dramas and skips any scenes that are related to corrupt politicians but i am so invested in this slush fund b-plot and cannot wait to see where it goes from here!

that rain scene was so emotional, anyone who's ever experienced grief and loss deserves someone like lee chung ah by their side 😭 she is up there with ali from squid game for most unfair character death!

and omg that mercedes! in all my kdrama viewing years never have i appreciated a product placement so much, what a stunningly sexy car! anyways, if the cast of one dollar lawyer don't get mad awards and cf deals after this, i'm fighting everyone!!!

accidentally ended up watching while airing which i usually avoid because i'm very impatient. based on ep7 preview, shit hits the fan and i'm really curious to see where the plot will go from here. i'm down for a timeskip, hopefully so that the main pairing feels less morally dubious 😂

one of my favourite things about MSCL so far is how well the actors convey their characters' range of emotions. i feel like their eyes are so expressive which makes each scene vivid beyond just parroting the dialogue. i often replay scenes just to watch their facial expressions closely as a lot goes unsaid. shin's passion is practically boiling over at this point whereas akira is constantly wavering between his head and his heart. meanwhile, asuka going from this cheeky little devil to a complete soft boy in front of shuu nearly broke me 😭

anyways i can already tell this is gonna be a comfort drama for me, the opening song has been on loop in my head all week 😂 hopefully the last half of this drama doesn't crash and burn!
