Nice article! I love how she mentioned the drama Search: WWW, which is such a rare gem in the Kdrama world. I wish that the author would've written "Watch dramas on legal sites when possible" or "Watch dramas on legal sites if you can afford it" because that would be easier for people to swallow. For me personally, I am able to afford $10.00 a month on Netflix, but I realize that I am privileged to have a stable job. However, if I want to watch Japanese dramas or some really old Taiwanese dramas, I will have to watch them illegally since there is no choice. Watching legally is hard for many people and I think we need to be more understanding of other people's circumstances.

I've always liked Park Eun Bin, so I started watching this drama mainly because of her. But WOW! Rowoon really blew me away with his acting skills! He is able to convey his emotions so genuinely and with so much depth. It's crazy how there's so many idols these days who have top notch acting skills. Like they're already good at singing and dancing and on top of that they're good at acting too. What?! I've definitely become a fan and I look forward to Rowoon's dramas in the future.

Ugh...same here. I've been telling all my friends to watch Hometown Cha Cha Cha and I was so happy and excited because I haven't enjoyed a Korean drama in a long time. I thought about becoming his fan because he is such a talented actor and then this happened. It's so disappointing.

So good!!! Such a heartwarming show, really brings me back to the 2016 drama era that I missed so much and I NEEDED…
Yess! I totally agree with your comment. Ever since 2015 or 2016 I haven't been into Korean dramas because I feel like their rom-coms just aren't the same as before. I've mainly just been watching a lot of Korean variety shows instead. However, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha was the healing drama that we all needed and it absolutely exceeded my expectations. The leads had amazing chemistry and I grew fond of all of the side characters as well. It's definitely my favourite drama of 2021!

Thanks for the article! This is such an important topic and it's interesting to see how it doesn't get addressed that often in drama-watching communities. I'm glad to see that times are changing and we are more open to talking about these things. I remember I got into watching dramas when I was around 13 years old, so I was young and impressionable. Looking back, so many of those dramas portrayed unhealthy relationships and I just had no idea because I was so young. I thought it was normal and the drama would add beautiful background music to make you think that it's romantic when it really isn't. For those people who are saying "just chill, it's just a drama" no it really isn't. I am living proof that through many years of watching dramas in my teenage years, it really does affect you and how you view romance and healthy relationships. Thanks for sharing =)

Title Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha Spoiler
Pls, don't kill me for this unpopular opinion lol but I felt that minah performance wasn't upto mark in this ep.…
I have to agree with you. I think for most of Hometown Cha Cha Cha I thought Shin Min Ah's acting was really good. Of course it's not the same level as Kim Seon Ho because he is just a natural and so gifted. However, I was still able to stay very engaged and I could feel empathy for her. But for episode 15, something just felt so off. I was so immersed in listening to Du Sik's backstory but whenever they cut the scene and showed Hye Jin's face, I just felt a sense of disconnect, I'm not sure why. Anyways, I'm glad that we're going to get a happy ending tomorrow but I still can't get over Grandma Gamri's death. She was one of my favourite characters in the show and I know I'm going to cry so much. I'm not ready to say goodbye to this show =(

God damn, Do-ha and Seon-a annoyed me af so much. They didn't even apologize. and the nerve for Seon-a to say…
Yeah, honestly I think a lot of us felt very frustrated while watching that part. I was expecting Seon-a to say something along the lines of "I never said sorry in the past but I'm going to say sorry now". But she straight up didn't even apologize. I was like WAIT WHAT??!!

It's Okay That's Love is such a masterpiece. I remember laughing and crying with the characters as they matured and tried to navigate their own mental health issues. It was such a breath of fresh air because it was rare for Kdramas to talk about mental health. This will always be my favourite Gong Hyo Jin drama.

Some of you forget that HJ doesn't know that DS has mental trauma or that there is even a tragic story involved.…
Thank you for saying this! I was reading some of the comments about how people hated Hye Jin's actions and she was emotionally blackmailing him and I was like what the heck?? I feel like Hye Jin showed a lot of maturity by saying "I will wait". She is allowed to feel hurt because she is also a human being. Can you imagine opening up all of your heart and your secrets to a person and not getting the same in return? It hurts a lot. Hye Jin is also picturing a future with Dusik, but whenever she asks him questions about the future, he just ignores it or gives her a super vague answer. I don't know about you guys, but as someone with anxiety, that would just make me feel even more anxious about the future. Also, like you mentioned, Hye Jin doesn't know the depth of the emotional trauma that Dusik has experienced. She literally has no idea. She wasn't given the flashbacks and the insight that us viewers have been given. Hyejin is flawed and so is Dusik, but that's also why I like this drama. It portrays flawed human beings trying their best to navigate through life's challenges.

I don't get it. I'm on the first ep and he's nice and friendly to everyone but to her he's quite rude. Kinda cliche.
Usually it's cliche but in this drama it actually makes sense. He sees her as rich, spoiled and privileged so he treats her coldly instead of trying to get to know her. I was kind of annoyed with his attitude in the first few episodes, since he seems quite judgemental of people coming from Seoul, but he gets better and their chemistry in the drama is amazing. You just have to keep on watching =)

What a wonderful article! Being inspired by characters is one of the reason why we watch dramas. As Gong Hyo Jin once said in an interview, "I'm not as perfect as the characters that I play on screen, but I always learn something from each character and I use that to grow".

I think what I really like and appreciate about Cha Eun Woo is that despite his fame, despite everyone praising him for his looks, he still manages to stay humble. And in the entertainment industry, that's not easy. He's just such a sweet, down-to-earth kind of guy. I've only seen him on variety shows but I feel like deep down he's the type to care more about inner beauty and personality rather than looks.

Yeah I feel like you misunderstood the context. When people said that, it's actually a huge compliment to Cha Eun Woo. Because they're saying that no matter who you are bias is, everyone likes Cha Eun Woo.

I agree, completely. Nothing for him has worked for me since Suspicious Partner
I agree with you guys. I think Ji Chang Wook is an amazing actor but the dramas that he's chosen lately have been a bit lackluster. My favourite dramas from him are Healer and Empress Ki. I loved Healer so much I watched it twice and I'm not one to re-watch dramas.

Wow! You guys did an awesome job with this article =) I like how everything is so organized and I see that there's a lot of my favourite Kdramas on here. I think that's a sign that I've watched way too many dramas haha keep up the good work!

Wow! What a fun article =) Thanks for sharing your journey with us. I think I started watching dramas when I was 13? So it's been over a decade of watching dramas haha. I think it's always cool to remember which drama was your very first drama because it's always so nostalgic watching it again. For me, the very first Taiwanese drama I watched was Meteor Garden and the very first Korean drama I watched was Full House. These two dramas will always have a special place in my heart.

Yes! He was such a sweet and genuine guy in the drama. I was rooting for him too even though I knew that the ML and FL were going to end up together anyways.

What an awesome feel-good drama! I think my favourite part was definitely during their high school days, back when everything was just easy and innocent. Once they got older there were too many love rivals and I got slightly annoyed. But overall an amazing drama. The leads had so much chemistry it didn't even feel like they were acting. I'm glad to see more healthy relationships in the C-Drama world =)

I've stopped watching Chinese dramas for a while now, because they keep on reusing the same plotlines over and over. So I was pleasantly surprised at how good this drama was! Awesome chemistry between the leads and just a sweet love story ^^ I love how there was no angst and there weren't any villains. If you are looking for a feel-good type of drama, this one is for you.
