as much as i'd love to see gorya and thyme kiss, i'm not disappointed with the romance aspect of the show at all. to be honest, i love seeing the good moments when they're together, like when thyme opened his eyes on his birthday and saw gorya. that scene actually made me feel something, and for me, that's so rare. it wasn't a kiss or a fancy setup, but their chemistry was SO strong there and imo, that just made it all the more romantic. that's just one example, i can think of plenty more scenes where i'm just happy seeing them together. overall, although there could be more romantic moments, this version's take on social issues is impeccable and i am loving the direction it's been going in
just finished this and it was definitely thrilling, the last few loops gave me goosebumps. the acting was amazing, sometimes chinese drama acting can be a bit hit and miss but all the actors and actresses in this drama were sensational. honorable mentions to the main leads and tao ying hong - her eyes were so expressive. also the ending! i was so happy when the watermelon uncle gave his son the watermelon and how the son was so happy to see him :') and the guy with his new motorcycle, i'm so glad things worked out for them both. overall an amazing drama, i didn't expect to like it this much
I literally hate all versions of Hana Yori Dango because 1. I hate school bullying themes, 2. I hate it when FLs…
I think this version definitely tackles the issues in a much better way than previous versions, but the story is still based on Hana Yori Dango after all, so these themes are still very much present. I would say don't watch it if you're strongly against all the other versions, as it follows the same storyline, but give it a chance if you're willing to see how the Thai version has addressed these issues
also can we talk about gorya's mum? I thought she was going crazy over the amount of money thyme's mum was offering but I'm so glad she confronted her! I can't remember if this happens in previous versions, but I love how the scene was executed and I can definitely see where gorya's strong will comes from
every week i become more and more convinced that this is the best version of boys over flowers. absolutely in love with the writing and the significance behind every scene
every week my mind is blown further by the sheer quality of writing, directing and attention to detail. some of my thoughts for this episode: - so glad tesla got what he deserved! the mall scene was fantastic, i love kavin and kaning's moments and him helping her get revenge - f4's friendship. nothing else else needs to be said tbh - thyme's speech at the end was so emotional :( i love how his change is highlighted so clearly, i think his character development in this version is the best - i had my doubts about ren but in this episode my mind was changed - dew is doing a great job at portraying his character. ren is very reserved but his facial expression says all. the date was pretty cute and when he SMILES :') in love with his dimples - thyme's mother is terrifying, her eyes give me chills... as always, i can't wait for the next episode. but at the same time, i can't believe it's been eight weeks since the first episode! that's actually crazy to think about
With every episode thyme's character continues to surprise because as sm1 who's seen all previous remakes you…
right! i'm preferring his character in this version way more, he's really just a soft boy who has been raised in a way that makes him act the way he is. i'm liking how the show is putting a lot of emphasis on his change and development
also the necklace in this version is so beautiful! and i loved the moment at the end of the trailer where they all sat watching a lakorn on the old tv whilst screaming at the characters - friendship at its finest 😌
the f4 thailand producers are SO GOOD at trailers. i'm rarely super drawn in by trailers and the first trailer really captured my attention, enough for me to watch the show whilst it's airing (it's painful waiting, but it's worth it!) the new trailer today was just incredible, they really know how to pique the audiences' interest and i absolutely cannot wait!! i can already see it being so angsty which i'm not a huuuge fan of tbh but that's the bof spirit :')
yup, I meant apologising in general about the whole situation, not apologising for the kiss haha, sorry for the confusion! but anything for a rewatch at this point to be honest 😌
every episode i fall in love more with thyme, i love his reaction after the 'kiss' and how he apologised so sincerely. bright and tu's chemistry is honestly amazing!! also june portrayed hana so well, brilliant acting :)
also the ending! i was so happy when the watermelon uncle gave his son the watermelon and how the son was so happy to see him :') and the guy with his new motorcycle, i'm so glad things worked out for them both.
