I'm watching the preview of next episode and Dan is making advances towards Little Jane and he's okay with that?…
I agree with you, he's not realizing who's actually manipulating him.

Why are so many of you defending Big Jane? What about my little Jane 😭? Listen, ik you guys think Little Jane…
It's true that they have little time to have nice and deep conversations, but straight up believing rumor isn't a good thing too. And the way little Jane brings up the rumor to be clarified, imo, sounds judgmental.

I think little Jane is just a little too dumb to see things clearly. Even if he knows that big Jane has a "secret" job, he should've known that what people asks is not a free lunch. There's an agreement that both parties need to follow, and if one them breaks it a penalty will follow. It's a basic understanding in business right? Isn't he studying business administration?? 🤦🏻‍♂️
And know suddenly people come up playing victim from big Jane, and he doesn't even ask why what happen in detail and just take a part of information and think it's the whole truth. Like?? Sir, are you okay? 😩

Title Don't Be Too Emotional Spoiler
If they follow the novel p dan is the main antagonist.
I knew it, he's to suspicious from the start he's talking to little Jane. He sounds so manipulative and little Jane is an easy prey.

Nope, mama never approve anyone. Shen Wubi is a crazy mama lolOh can't wait for that sweet revenge from xiaofan.
If you read the novel you'll see how crazy she is, but it's kinda funny tho. Hope we will see it too in the series

He’s a country boy, so his character is supposed to be like that. I actually like that he’s vulnerable, gentle,…
Oh you gotta finish it soon!

While not fond of what feels like some heavy binary stereotyping here, I am otherwise intrigued. I can’t help…
I hope we will see some character development just like in the novel. He’s a bit cunning actually.

They don’t understand any of that I guess

I watched the three episodes that have been released, and wow, it was really depressing...It's hard watching that…
I guess that’s how life was back then in the 90’s, a man from rural village in somewhat poor family. People are struggling. But, be patient, I think this worth to watch ;)

Forgotten; other than very mildly injuring evil Miles once and "fixing" the character of Wu Sheng Liu…
Oh what a shame, the sword had that potential to shine.

After watching the first episode, I can understand the rant that people are writing here. The opening scene does look like it's gonna be a "serious" bl, but as the episode progresses it doesn't seem so "serious". At least a bit. I guess they really are not positioned the series as "serious" or "dark" bl, the political historical aspect is just a background story. If you are looking for a "serious" bl this definitely not the one, at least for eps 1. Anyway, I'm adding this to my weekly watchlist, I miss Bas so much ❤️❤️
