I’ve only watched part of Ep. 1, but I’ve read the novel, so I don’t know if in subsequent episodes they get into the difference in character between the original owner of the body and Li Su Su. The original owner of the body was not a nice person (nor too bright, either) who was extremely resentful of her marriage to Tantai Jin, and so she mistreated him in various ways. As Su Su is not familiar yet with her current body or her situation, she lapses into the habits of the original Ye Xi Wu. So her behavior you are describing could be a result of the combined resentments of Li Su Su and Ye Xi Wu.

It's funny that Tang Lian, who's somebody who's lived life by the rules, has a shifu like Baili Dongjun, who's more into alcohol than anything else and just wanders off whenever he feels like it. Poor Third city Master, the other two are just no help in administering the city!
I am wondering if both Lu An Ran and Mu Ze have been reborn, but neither of them is aware the other has been reborn with memories of their previous life. The story so far is reminding me of The Way of Favors, the novel on which The Blooms at Ruyi Pavilion was based. In The Way of Favors, after rebirth, the FL wants to stay away from the ML, who was her husband in her past life, and just help her family. But, the ML still wants to marry FL in the new life. She also had another husband in her previous life, who was very nice but weak (ML was her second husband). So Lu An Ran and Mu Ze have been reborn due to their respective regrets, in her case her family, and in Mu Ze's case, Mu Chuan's death. So he's super-protective of Mu Chuan in this life, and now that his advisor has made him suspicious of LAR, he's going to try to keep LAR away from Mu Chuan. I'm thinking there might be a second rebirth in which LAR and MC get together without all the complications of the first and second lives. I just don't see how they can get together in the current life with all of the complications and regrets that have built up.
I am following a Korean blogger's recaps and I like her nicknames for some of the characters: "the adultery couple" for FL's sister and Cai Wang Jin and "Puppy Prince" for Mu Chuan. Would the Adultery Couple count as a side couple in this drama? lol

I also got annoyed at CSS character, but then when I thought she's only 15 and the upbringing she's had, and now how her mother is treating her, it felt perfectly understandable (I was certainly an annoying teenager at her age haha). I am much more annoyed at CSS's mom, she's refusing to listen to the advice others around her are giving her on how to approach her daughter, and in the process she also seems to be damaging CSS's relationship with others in the family, such as her brothers.
Just what happened with the writing for the last 2 episodes? It's as if all the characters except the bad guys suffered brain damage between episodes 31 and 32.
