Watching weekly dramas and only then coming to MDL comment box is always so fun, because I'll be watching it and talking with IRL people and everyone agrees its a fun comedy with very well crafted INSANE characters and situations. Then, I scroll here and the most tame comments are like "... anyways so this is basically why he is the modern equivalent of Adolf Hitler".

Title Doctor Slump
When other k-dramas do something like a breakup trope or something it's usually a matter of miscomunnication that starts from episode 1. Dr. Slump has always been a great exception when it comes to the characters sharing their feelings and thoughts. Episode 8 keeps the realism/good communication aspect of it as well, 'cause Haneul is *literally* diagnosed with a mental disorder and what happened in the episode triggered her. Haneul knowing that her misery is affecting her boyfriend obviously was going to make her do what she did, 'cause she doesn't want other people to be affected by her own problems. If you hated it and think it's somehow cliche, keep in mind that, unlike 89% of the other k-dramas that do something like this, this one actually connects with the message of the drama per se and it's a great way to portrait how depression affects how people act in relationships. It's a refreshing take that i'm anxious to see how they gonna follow it.

funny how your reason for not liking the ML is pretty much cause he's "old" and "fat" like. not only he's not…
I mean, as you get older, it's pretty normal to like... be attracted to people around your age, who are not (and doesn't look like) teenagers anymore. If you're a teenage yourself it's normal 'cause he literally is an grown man but if you're at the same age or older than him and think he's unnatractive 'cause he doesnt look like a teenage boy anymore.... that's just a very creepy behaviour. Also you seem to be a very terrible person overall lol.

So first episode, I am already engaged with the female lead she is so cool and second male lead. Have no interest…
funny how your reason for not liking the ML is pretty much cause he's "old" and "fat" like. not only he's not even close to both of these things, hyungsik on his dilf era is WAY hotter than his skinny teenage years

Title Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha Spoiler
I said this as a joke to my friends when Cho Hui showed up that she was a lesbian but I actually think this is the plot? Like maybe I'm wrong and projecting too much, but considering everything maybe she got a thing for Hwajeong? Like the setup is all there but I still think its probably going to be something like Cho Hui likes her and Hwajeong knows about but she's straight so that's what it makes more painful for her to watch the man she loved be hung up with his first love (who will never love him back) and he ruined his marriage on the process while HJ best friend actually loves HER back and she can't answer her feelings. Like... IDK

dropped the drama in the first episode because I didn't liked it (I only watched it for Nana) but it's so funny coming here to see the angry reviews and try to understand what happened in this mess

Not sure if its because I'm more leaning towards the business side of the drama or because I'm just enjoying more than most people in here buuuuut I'm really liking the show and its development. Most of my criticism goes to the fact that WIJ should have more screen time.

Damn finally! Record of youth got so much potential. It started good, the first few episodes .. well pretty good…
Yeah, totally agree, the characters were trying waaay too hard to seem deep dialogue-wise (specially Jung Ha “reflections” every time she talked with Hye Joon, it was so surreal for something that tried to be realistic). The BTIMFL comparison is on point, that drama knew how to work the reality aspect without sacrificing the integrity and rhythm of the whole thing. To me, writing is the thing ROY needed the most, everything else was there, great directing, a lot of competent actors and a story with potential, but the screenwriter didn't deliver it even with all of this at her disposition. Such a shame honestly.

These two episodes a banger already, it's going to be so hard to wait til next saturday :( They really managed to get so many elements I like in rom-coms (business background, underdog fighting his way to the top, good balance of plots and sub-plots and detailed character development). Park Hye Ryun always got my back <3

Honestly Lee Do Hyun deserves all the praise for his work in this drama, that boy can act. He makes the drama (which is already pretty good) 100x better, everytime he's on the screen I feel totally immersed, he is so convincing and charismatic.

I also want the ml taking different route, i mean, it looks like his ex-wife is too stubborn want to divorce,…
I've been thinking the same honestly, it would be a bit of a turn off if they follow the movie route to the end, unless some huge plot twist come in when they explain the mechanics behind him going back to his younger self, but it's more likely he'll be back to his adult self. Hopefully the writes can wrap up this in a good way because as of right now I really want the wife to suceed, the kids to be happy and he helping them but only because he wants to see that too and not because he wants to be back with her.

Review Was It Love?
Dropped this early, thought it was awful!!
I should have done that too, but I was curious to see the "movie" happening and thought the "reveal" was going to be interesting but boy was I wrong. I only finished because I invested so much time already, might as well see if they would redeem at one point (spoiler: they didn't).

Considering how predictable (and frustrating) this has been, pretty sure we will get the most of 'romance' and cuteness on the next episode, everything will be resolved except maybe one or two things and in episode 16 they will remember they have a movie and it will be like two or three scenes of shooting and a time jump. At this point this is the best scenario for me, I just want freedom from this drama.

This is so weird, I hate every character who isn't the two kids, the mother and the bar owner yet I still watch every week. Solid hate watching television.

I usually struggle with tragic and depressing stories too, but I'll be honest: Pinocchio is REALLY REALLY worth it. I started with the same type of thoughts, fearing it would crash me, but it's surprisingly optimistic, in some sort of realistic way. Yes, there are a lot of sad things to unravel but everything is done in a very captivating way and the drama does its best to keep you balanced between the traumatic backstory and light-weighted moments, also the romance is very cute and interesting. You definitely should give it a shot 'til the end.
