⋆ ✩ Hello! ✩ ⋆
♡ and welcome to my MDL page ♡
I have been watching dramas for around 10 years, although I don't always find the time or am in the mood for them, so I am going through my watchlist rather slowly, but I am still convinced I will finish it one day. I am very much a mood watcher, and often my enjoyment of a drama is just as reliant on it being the right time and place as much as its actual quality.
I watch mostly Korean and Chinese dramas, although I've been more into the latter recently.
My favorite genres/tags include:
Historical, Fantasy, Xianxia, Wuxia, Romance
I also really enjoy more bittersweet and even tragic stories and endings, and love it when there's pining, yearning and angst lolol. I do enjoy some comedy, but tend to prefer stories that are a bit darker/mature.
As for my ratings, I try to be fair and consider "objective" quality, but I will lean more towards personal feelings if I feel like there is a gap between my own enjoyment and the actual quality, as I see MDL as tracker I use mostly for fun and for my own sake. I also try to use the entire scale, although I find it hard to rate something below 5. I also sometimes struggle to drop dramas as I am a stubborn completionist, but I will do it if I find it very boring and/or bad.
My ratings are as follows:
10 ★ Excellent - More or less perfect. These are dramas I became obsessed with and that continued to stay on my mind for a very long time. I very rarely come across these though (sadly), especially as I have become more critical over the years. This is also a rating I feel is highly reliant on mood, time and place!
9 ★ Very Good - I loved it, but it still lacked a little something. It also didn't necessarily stick with me the same way the ones above did.
8 ★ Good - I liked it very much! Anything I rate 8 and above are also dramas I would likely be willing to rewatch and confidentially recommend!
7 ★ Enjoyable - Had several good parts, but also some that were boring or maybe bad. This is a rating I often give to dramas that I feel are objectively very good, but weren't necessarily to my personal taste.
6 ★ Fine - Not really bad, but didn't care for it very much, and likely had several things that I disliked or annoyed me. Had few parts I liked.
5 >= ★ Mediocre to bad - Really didn't like, and I most likely dropped it. If I finished, there was something in particular that I was curious about and still wanted to see how it would play out (although I often find it wasn't worth it..)
