watching how Wu Zi Shu hate human and want to change WZ to fully demon, I dont think it will be easy for MZY to marry her. but this is just what I thought.

if you read my whole comment I did say the drama also focus on on 'demon market'. From ep 1-19 all we see about demon market and MZY want to protect WZ but at the same time dont want to be close because he is still a disciple.
and I don't think they will get married easily as the drama make Wu Zi Shu has feeling for WZ too, his character in the novel not even important as the drama.

for people who already read the novel then want to watch this drama, I can say you can't expect the the storyline will be the same.
In the novel Mei Zhu Yu (ML) is no longer a disciple of Changxi Temple, and consider the strongest Daoist. While in the drama he still a disciple and not the strongest.

I believe the drama want to focus on 'fobidden love' between demon & disciple of Changxi Temple. disciple can't marry so that's why the drama show how Mai Zhu Yu fall in love with Wu Zhen but at the same time trying not to be close to her.

The drama also focus on Demon market & subtle feeling between Mei Zhu Yu -Wu Zhen. while the novel focus on how Wu Zhen - Mei Zhu Yu protecting each other without knowing their partner are Cat Lord and strong Daoist (his overflowing spirit energy alone can cut demon). and in the novel after married, Mei Zhu Yu help Wu Zhen control the demon here and there.

the drama is still good and I give 7/10 (ep 1-19). for me the boring part is just when the drama focus on demon market story instead of the development between Mei Zhu Yu - Wu Zhen character. But I can see from the teaser future episodes that MZY will soon cut ties with Changxi Temple to propose Wu Zhen. It's getting interesting.

well for me the ml portrayed same quiet unfriendly side in the novel n drama but not his strong daoist prodigy . the drama already take different path ml dont want to marry fl (while married in the novel), so bringing the married life moment to compare is unnecessary.

i watched the drama n finish the novel. yes he killed the demon but his character in the drama still weak compare to novel. the novel showed both strong fl n ml secretly protecting each other. idk maybe the drama want to focus more on fl n demon market.

i dont think the rating is bias. for novel reader, this drama failed to show Mei Zhu Yu strong character like in the novel. He's ruthless n kill demon like just a snap of his finger. the drama dont show any development in his character at all.
