I feel the same way..
It feels like they just were searching for ways to make it more mainstream and appealing to the youth. I second just about everything you said, especially about the clothing. Just doesn't make any sense..
I'm totally disappointed now. Probably will still watch it, but I won't go in with high expectations.

But hurray for Akumu-chan movie! That is something I will be excited for!
