People I loved: DDG (drill king for a reason), 西部双子星 (I'm a sucker for fierce competitors. AND THE 新秀REFERENCE MY HEART), skyslimsKyoA, SIMBA (NOUS UNDERGROUND WELCOME WELCOME!!! I AM A FAN OF ANYONE THERE. also the PACT cameos during his part <3), Prince.Wang------------------------------------------------People I see potential in: UUX (no wonder XieDi last season kept picking Chongqing people damn), 八口Buck (it's such a shame he forgot the words... that shouldn't have happened. aww capper really wanted him too. I'm so glad that he didn't pull a Tao second chance), Cool-Aid (woah!! so much improvement from last year. I love the ferocity and punchlines), 叶尔林 (why did he reuse one. he had a good shot.), 儿几 (Tao confuses me so much. why didn't he get it? everyone agreed he should've got it...), BiP-T, Danny K (welcome back!! I loved his collab w/ VOB), Yellllow, blackthedevil (hello returner, I was rooting for you last year)---------------------------I'm a little bit against Tao for 韩铁牛 and 儿几 - both deserved a chance. But overall, I agree with quite a lot of his choices (especially against 三火flame). Some of the flows are so boring and easily memoriseable; I'm glad he's calling them out.

New mentors. Young blood. Hell, Top Barry’s only 18 and doing his gaokao right now. ———————————I found Ep1 Part 1 to be really boring - not even mentor performances now? Come on. Why’d they introduce the 大魔王 first? That and the pre-acapella ranking system was unneccessary if you asked me. I did like the appearance of PACT as a 大魔王 though - not to mention CREAM D being a particupant. NOUS UNDERGROUND forever (can you tell I’m a fan of chinese rap?) Purely based on people I know, I’m excited to see Top Barry, Shark, Rapeter, DDG, and Capper! People I’m not-as-hyped for: Lodmemo (how is he back after that diss track??), Kito and Ga One - sorry for any fans.———————————Onto the fun Part 2. The acapellas I absolutely loved were from Rapeter, Top Barry, Cream D (姜还是老的辣) and AJ Lai. Honourable mentions to 马赫mood and Winjay. Cream D being up there made me so happy - WHAT DO YOU MEAN HIM AND CAPPER HAD A FULL CIRCLE MOMENT. AND PACT BEING NERVOUS FOR HIM IN THE BACKGROUND WAS SO SWEET. Thank you for spotlighting this IQiyi. I really hate how this year’s set up. I loathed how Tao gave Lodmemo a second chance; I definitely agree with Yamy that auditions should be one-shot. Even with the second chance, I don’t think he deserved it. I also think 42/232 is such unfair odds for the rest of the participants. ——————————— Overall 6/10, with Part 2 significantly raising the score.

Lin GengXin! Fan ChengCheng! ShenTeng! Absolutely hilarious to watch and I love these original games. Especially the pillow game with Lin GengXin absolutely butchering everyone until they team up.

If I’m being honest, I expected a higher standard from the trainees. Considering Idol Produced and the three seasons of Youth With You that served as the prequel, this had a significant drop in the standard - even from my Youth with You 3 debuted members Kachine, Duan Xing Xing, and Neil. Overall, quite disappointed - like, voting based off “potential”? Really? I hope it gets better from here.

Ep20 was the end of the season (MDL for some reason has more than 20 episodes displaying?). It was amazing, and I cried, but I feel like it was slightly anticlimatic for an ending. There was no massive celebration of the final winner, no bringing back the past contestants, but I did like the interviews a month later, when they are back in reality. Overall, I loved this show, but the last episode had more potential.

God I love Zhang Da Da and Cao HuanDong, but I appreciate his choice of Zhang YunLong, even if I don't like him much from when he was grouped with Wu QiLong.And I dislike Shi Ming Xing so much I'm sorry, but the fact that he tried to get He Run to stop making little factions then he does the exact same?

I feel like giving everyone in Fu Huo Dao (Revival Island) a chance was such a bad move from the GM. I understand ShenYue, Hou Ming Hao and the other person having a chance because they won a game, and thankfully my favourite survivors (considering Wu Qi Long), Zhang Da Da and Cao Huan Dong, beat them. Shi Ming Hao is not changing my mind of his bad first impression after stealing Hou Ming Hao's light earlier and now this. Anyways, I don't understand why so many others, like Xiu, got the chance to come out. I hate the VIP IQiyi thing, it limits normal users by so much, and I hate how so many parts have clearly been cut out, albeit understandable.

[Spoilers]Zhang Da Da was clearly the highlight of this episode. Yes, you have Cao Huan Dong, who is undeniably the strategist here, but they screwed up. It was, ultimately, the fact that Zhang Da Da had managed to lead his group from the very start. The friends he made along the way, and their never-wavering loyalty made me cry. Wang Yi Wei and De De are both amazing examples of this.

I love these callout 1v1s! It's so refreshing and I love the aggressive punchlines. It is so entertaining to watch and pray that the judges agree with my personal decisions, and I learnt the names of so many new rappers through their songs, such as Majin and Nxmand.

This is the acapella episode where contestants had to show their skills without any background music as a way of receiving a 'gold chain' to show that they were officially in the show. The contestants and judges this year are top-tier! At first, I was very skeptical about Wowkie Zhang especially with his performance, but he lightens the mood so much that he becomes a nice asset. FanChengCheng's Go Hard freestyle performance was so unexcepted, and I loved KeyNG's 罗马 too! Then there's the contestants. I'll be the first to honestly admit that the only one I knew beforehand was Ice Paper, due to his TikTok fame, and G.G. 张思源 from Youth with You - [spoiler] I was going to cry if Ice Paper didn't get a chain, and was disappointed that the Free Out members didn't stay together. But the show introduced all of them so well that I grew to love how the Free Out members came as a unit, similar to the NOUS UNDERGROUND's C2C duo that I love so much.

Hoping my favourite 显眼包 gets better soon! He's so clearly sick but came onto the show regardless. I'm missing 白敬亭 and 魏大勋 - three 显眼包s on one show was such a rarity.

I literally love their friendship, they're so adorable??? I love the way everything happened in the last bit and they kept their secret alliance under wraps, ad the way Justin masterminded through everything, only to try make Yang Mi win, WHO IN TURN LET HIM WIN AAAAH. I love them they're so adorable. This plot is also really emotional, would definitely watch it out of all the episodes this season.

This episode was delayed due to the CaiXukun scandal (which also meant he was cut out), but it was definitely worth the two week wait! Things to note: Yuqi and MINNIE from (G)-IDLE! I really missed Yuqi <3 Fan Cheng Cheng has definitely established his permanent spot as my favourite! He deserves all the screentime and his humour is so amazing!!! I love that the producers put Zheng Kai and Baby on a team - I’m a huge huge huge shipper of them since the very start - even if they barely spent any time together (a bit disappointing but I get it). Li Chen makes everyone feel so safe and he’s so protective I love him (no wonder he’s never the bad guy I guess, wish he had a bad guy turn though), and I love the way he’s always looked out for Baby since the first season (although he definitely does it more now after Zheng Kai got married to Miao Miao and shouldn’t be looking after Baby so much).I also missed 撕名牌! Thank you for bringing it back!!

This is PEAK 蜜桃 with its scares. And I love that the two scaredy cats are deliberately put together (彭昱畅 and 许凯). If you want an estimate on how scary it was, I had to watch the last half with my volume very very low. Can't wait for the second half of this! (蜜桃 airs two episodes as one complete escape room)

I know he’s scared, but he really stepped up this episode and I’m super proud to be a XuKai fan! I love the plotline in this one, although I’d love more closure for the NPCs but I get it: the sacrifices they made.
