Title Navillera
Well, I would say I always have this love-and-hate relationship with TVN. Most of the times, their dramas are either a cliche and boring rom-com (not to mention the infamous love triangle duh) or a meaningful and heart-wrenching slice of life. Navillera is definitely the latter. I just hope that it will just have a slight romance or no romance at all will be better. Because what Chae Rok needs the most at the moment is focusing on his life and purpose. Also a partner who can act as a parental figure (Deok Chul) will be more suitable for him rather than a girlfriend.

Title The Untamed
If you already finished The Untamed and you really loved it or felt like it left such a deep impression to you, then I suggest you don't bother to ask for recommendation (especially if you want to fill the empty feelings). Nothing will do justice, because this drama is one of a kind. Something that happened once in a blue moon or even a million years. I've been watching like a lot of dramas, but I didn't get the same experience like watching this one. I'm also not saying the others are bad, some even better (Well, in term of plot, production value, or technical aspects), but still they're different.

I'd like to say that just enjoy the other dramas as their own. Don't compare or you might get disappointed. If you still can't move on and miss this drama so much, the best advice I can give to you is..... JUST RE-WATCH THE UNTAMED!!! EVEN IF IT'S FOR THE 99TH TIME HAHAHA

It's okay if you don't agree with the confirmed casts, particularly the ones who got to play Xie Lian and Hua Cheng. You can criticize or give opinions, but please try your best not to disrespect or hate the chosen actors. Especially, if the main reason is about the visual or physical appearance. Things that make a great performance are how the actors tell the story, convey the emotions, and interpret the character's thoughts. It's never been about the accuracy of how they resemblance the appearance from the book. Well, it will be good if they have the intended appearance, but still it's not the most necessary.

For those who have their dream casts, it's up to you. But still, nobody ever promised to fulfill your dream casts fantasy. So, you don't have the right to throw tantrums at them.
For example, I see that many people want Song Jiyang to play Xie Lian. I'd like to say that I agree somehow, but the thing is he's already iconic as Xiao Xingchen (even if it's just a small role). Not to mention, he got a bigger and more prominent role in the upcoming drama, Winner is King. I guess the producers and the team want actors who will play Xie Lian and Hua Cheng that haven't got really iconic role (The "when-I-see-this-actor-I-instantly-recognize-him-as-a-certain-character" level of iconic).

As for Neo Hou, Ding Cheng Xin, and Liu Xiu Yei, at this point I believe that they already are part of the casts. Remember that there are literally DOZENS of characters in TGCF. One or two of them might not be Xie Lian and/or Hua Cheng. However, my prediction is that they are The Xianle Trio : Neo Hou (Xie Lian), Ding Cheng Xin (Mu Qing), and Liu Xiu Yei (Feng Xin).

they did great with lovestruck in the city... though that was produced by kakao i guess
Netflix originals can be confusing sometimes lol. Lovestruck in the city is actually just distributed by Netflix. The romance dramas produced by Netflix are "My First First Love", "Love Alarm", and " My Holo Love" (Maybe there's more but I forgot).
On Love Alarm Season 2 Mar 12, 2021
When I saw the list of K-drama releases of 2021 produced by Netflix, there's literally no new romance drama. I'm like "I have a really bad feeling about the 2nd season of Love Alarm". Tbh, I'm not even fond of the 1st season to begin with, but the 2nd season is just really awful as if Netflix no longer cares about this drama. Like they produced the 2nd season just for the sake of giving a "proper ending". Such a waste of talents though. Maybe Netflix just realized that this kind of drama isn't their thing.

There are rumors on Chinese sites that they've changed / might change the director from Chan Ka Lam to Jiang Wen.…
I personally still prefer Cha Ka Lam. Looking back at The Untamed, he knew what needed to be done and at the same time he knew how to entertain both fans or non-fans who watched it. The highlight of MXTX's works are emotional depth and complicated relationships of the characters. I believe with his track record on The Untamed, he will do justice to TGCF/HoB. I'm just kind of worried because most directors who are great at creating fighting/action sequences, their works tend to be less sentimental.

I'm feeling both anxious and excited for the cast announcement. Whoever got cast especially for the roles of Xie Lian and Hua Cheng definitely will face polarizing reactions. There will be noise here and there, but I guess it's inevitable for something anticipated by many people. I personally will be respecting the decisions, because they must be doing their best. Hopefully, this has the same casting team as The Untamed, since they were doing great job and hitting jackpot by finding casts that truly nailed the characters.
