I started the first episode yesterday (only watching for Tamaki Hiroshi), and I already had that thought right out the gate after the "Why can I eat?" bit. LMAO. What, would you rather you be like that one guy you saw? (Also, the family can't just take him in; that's not their responsibility. And I'd imagine she'd only come up with 'bandage solutions'.)

"I can't think of a single intelligent thought she had on her own."

Same thought so far. And the guy that was starving, thirsty, and homeless literally gave the reason for his state: "With the high taxes... No matter how hard we work, life doesn't become any easier." She still needed to go on a mini hunger strike (you helped out that guy, for sure...) and ask questions. I get that she was very young, but she was still silly. It's a "don't get involved if you don't know anything," situation, especially when she took an extreme approach that benefitted absolutely no one.
