Consent and sexual harassment never being brought up in the discussions about the hotel situation is... interesting. And it's interesting when it comes to Chisato trying to be so moral about other things (bad wife moment) and no one, not even his boss, doing anything about him being preyed upon. There were too many characters that knew of or got involved with the situation and not a soul said anything, which tells me that the writer never thought of it... and that's not good. The story wouldn't be able to turn out exactly as it did if this was acknowledged. Come to think of it, I haven't seen ANYONE say about this.
I just can't get over the fact that Chisato couldn't understand that Haruno was explaining a sexual abuse story. She couldn't get past her anger, though the incident wasn't the main reason for her wanting to leave him. At no point did she try to understand him with this, but at least he had to understand her, I guess. Haruno was actually innocent from the start because of the lack of evidence, and I'm sure as shit that if the same thing happened to Chisato, she would be screaming rape and "innocent until proven guilty" on rooftops. That's when the writer would acknowledge this stuff because it would involve a female being taken advantage of and not a male. Oops.
I knew that Kaori didn't actually do anything with him when he was heavily drunk, but we would've found out earlier on if the court (you would've needed competent characters, though) got involved because she would've had to confess instead of being placed on the sex offender registry, which would ruin her life. LMAO. I don't like the fact that she received no punishment and then Haruno apologised. Sir, you were taken advantage of and were about to have your fucking life completely ruined for no reason. Please, pookie... Put your foot down.
This is an unexplored weakness of Haruno... and it was "sort of" brought up in regards to Chisato. That was him being scared of her. He quickly showed this weakness to Kaori, which in turn made her come back over and over to abuse it some more because she got the reactions she wanted. Haruno being so close to his boss and his boss being too soft/weak and encouraging stupid shit as well means that Haruno had no authority figure to step in and sort things out besides the police, but that would be if the police in the series would written properly and not be dismissive goofballs like Haruno's boss. Kaori would've found a challenge if he was a stronger character, but if he didn't budge one bit and just ignored her, her interest and motivation to tease would've dwindled. There would be nothing to get out of him.
I do think that Haruno's boss should've been the one to point out Haruno's weakness early on after a few teasings because such a thing would lead to worse in the future. Thinking about it, this is a better alternative than starting him off as being a strong character with this because Haruno acknowledging and getting over his weaknesses is important and would lead to development and more interest for the audience. It would able make his boss a more stronger character and have some authority rather than being another doormat for people. You can say that Haruno is disappointing, but it's admittedly not good when others around you are blind or dismissive to your struggles and don't help out when they can. Everyone is disappointing.
This is not all to say that what we got as all terrible, but I did have more sympathy towards Haruno because others didn't understand him and he's honestly not the best at understanding things fully and getting his thoughts out properly, just not helping his cases. His calm and perfectly spoken, "I can't believe you would be thinking was having an affair," comment just put him in a bad light even though he didn't have an affair at all. Just more weaknesses that will cause further trouble for him in the future. Poor pookie.

I have got to stop falling for ragebait, especially after 結婚しない (2012) because that was like a Turkish ice cream guy trolling me, but at least I got my sweet treat in the end. I started the first episode yesterday (only watching for Tamaki Hiroshi), and I already had that thought right out the gate after the "Why can I eat?" bit. LMAO. What, would you rather you be like that one guy you saw? (Also, the family can't just take him in; that's not their responsibility. And I'd imagine she'd only come up with 'bandage solutions'.)

Same thought so far. And the guy that was starving, thirsty, and homeless literally gave the reason for his state: "With the high taxes... No matter how hard we work, life doesn't become any easier." She still needed to go on a mini hunger strike (you helped out that guy, for sure...) and ask questions. I get that she was very young, but she was still silly. It's a "don't get involved if you don't know anything," situation, especially when she took an extreme approach that benefitted absolutely no one.
