I just finished this drama and it was so good. Couldn't stop crying at the end. When XF said that she forgave…
No XF dies. He made him self believes that XF survived and is living happily. It comes from the novel
The novel ending is when she and Adu reach the gates, General Pie says he can not let her pass, but if the CP is held hostage he has no choice but to comply. So Adu holds the CP hostage, but at same time GCW arrives and Chases them to a cliff, where CP jumps. But Adu jumps after her and shields the impact with her body, in result dying. So when the CP sees she tells Adu that she will join her in Western Liang, and stabs her self.
30 years later (Not sure if it was more) GCW is still heartbroken and remembers CP death. But everyone thinks he is morning the death of his only daughter. But when General Pie comes and asks him to come out of mourning (quit drinking and crying) He finds out that GCW is actually still about the CP, saying "I have not forgotten her for 30 years."
He dies and his son becomes king.
I love both endings, but the ending in the book is better in some ways. Cause when GCW lets CP go he shoots an arrow at her, but pass by her hair, and shots an arrow back which hits him. He is actually letting her know that he is now willing to let her go and remembers, but he also believes (holds on to the hope ) that the end that the CP survived and is living happily somewhere.
The writers went to the author an asked that he approve the ending they choose to follow. And he was the one who officially announced that the show will have a different ending.
Is the acting here good cause I’m torn between to watch it or not because I really liked the novel but I see…
I respect virtualvoyage, but she is completely wrong on the editing part. I read the novel and I think they did a great job at sticking to the material. To change the ending, the writers went to the author an asked that he approve the ending they choose to follow. And he was the one who officially announced that the show will have a different ending.
And I love the chemistry in this show. I would say watch it. Especially the first 10 ep.
Same here. It is a beautiful show and a novel. They did an excellent job following the book.
