From a Japan Today article published online on April 6, 2009, the actual event occurred in Handa, Aichi, Japan. Per the school vice principal, the 11 boys in 7th grade formed a club called "Make Teacher ‘A’ Have a Miscarriage" to harass their homeroom teacher in retaliation for changing their seating assignments and thought the teacher was giving favoritism.

It did not come across as a weird title since it is commonly used where I am.
In many countries, especially those with English as their main language, the "K9" or "K-9" term is commonly used by the police/military to identify their police dog unit.
