verry pleasant
So overall it was pleasant, but much much much too vanilla. I understand that it's a first love, a high school love, but it's as if everything was held in place, restrained. And when U Hyeon accepted his feelings for Do Ha, he seemed to hold back, and when they met again after 1 year, I expected so much more explosive feelings, I mean, they weren't in high school anymore to think that they must be innocent, right? ... they were already after a year of college and the hugging and the discussion at the table it was as if they were 2 bored people, or without passion, as if they had seen each other 1 hour before. But I must admit that the character DO HA brought a lot of warmth to the film, and somehow it seems to me that the whole series was somehow around him, although it should have been the other way around (U Hyeon). Maybe it was because of the misunderstanding of U Hyeon's feelings that he was so restrained, but the character DO HA really delivered emotion, warmth, security, friendship, just about everything. And what I liked was that he managed to convey emotion with his eyes. I hope to see him in many films from now on.

amazing movie
"The Paradise of Thorns" is an exceptional Thai film. I don't know if it actually reflects only the Thai world or if it is simply a universal film about survival in poverty, about hope for a decent life, hopelessness, frustration, a lot of frustration... I think this can be found anywhere in the world. It seems to me a film about feelings, experiences, not about same-sex love, it could be any couple, it could be man with man, woman with women or man with woman, this film seems to be more of the inner life of some characters more than the fact that the main couple is gay. What I liked the most is the relationship of growing hatred and frustration between MO and Thongkam. The actors played absolutely superbly ... brilliantly ... I really felt all the hatred between them.
Then I also liked it, although it is ugly and painful for the characters, but I liked that "Sek" took a wife to take care of his mother and a husband to work and make money for him .... so the screenwriter is absolutely brilliant ... I really liked this duality and use, even though he died in a stupid accident, but ... in the end poverty pushes you to do bad things, and the thing in the end that Sek loved Thongkam didn't convince me 'cause he used his money for the land ... for his land ... so ... he used him ...... I really don't think SEK loved anyone but himself. But the ideea of the movie is great.
What I regret is that the relationship between Jingna and Thongkam was not developed. Somehow the whole relationship was in a hurry, and even if Jingna had some feelings of love for Thongkam, he was still on MO's side when Thongkam was at the temple, and flooded the durian plantation.
Somehow the film talks about duality, everything seemed to me to be about duality ... I love you, but I have to do what my family tells me because I have moral obligations to them ... actually you don't even know what the real feelings are, because everything is an abstinence and a frustration.
The landscapes were beautiful and the music actually completed this carousel of feelings.
Unfortunately the ending was quite bad, it left me with a taste of .... why so? ... the way Jingna died is quite stupid, MO's new husband doesn't even make sense to talk about him. It would have seemed fair to me for MO to stay with the land, ok, and for Thongkam to leave as he did, to start his life from the beginning, but with Jingna ... it would have been a fair balance ... at least he would have something left ... 'cause otherwise in the actual ending Thongkam loved SEK, who actually used him, he gave his money to buy SEK's land and in the end he loses the durian plantation and the new lover dies, he leaves beaten ... we don't even talk about frustration anymore, we're heading for depression. I mean why is Thongkam such a loser in life ... why life hates Thongkam? he lost 2 lovers (they both died in a stupid way), he lost all his money, he lost the right to the land, he lost evrything ... but why?

IT'S WORTH WATCHING
So .... this drama revolves around two men, both in relationships: Nakarai Sei with a man and Hagiwara Kazuaki with a woman. ........ and both work in the same company, but in different departments. Both have been in their relationships for a long time, one could say stable relationships, but there is no longer sexual intimacy in any relationship, and there goes the frustration. At the beginning, Kazuaki's relationship was normal, his partner still seems to like sex with Kazuaki, but somehow along the way she started not wanting any physical touch, something that obviously frustrates Kazuaki to the maximum (in my opinion, I think it would frustrate anyone). He keeps trying, but she always refuses without saying clearly that she wants a relationship without sex.
On the other hand is Nakarai Sei's relationship with his partner, which from the beginning was established that there would be no sexual contact, which at that time Nakarai Sei agreed to because of the abuses and his situation - him being gay.
And somehow, by a funny coincidence of fate, the two (coworkers and sexually frustrated) start to communicate through e-mails, that's how they discover that the heterosexual does not have sex with his girlfriend, and him, the gay, does not have sex with his partner. After discovering who is on the other end of the e-mail, they accept each other and somehow starts a friendship and continues to talk by e-mail and phone. I liked this moment because it was something very normal, like ... ok ... this is us.
And on a rainy night ... Hagiwara Kazuaki, after being rejected again by his girlfriend, calls Nakarai Sei and they meet ... and went to a hotel where they had sex. Here ... although very normal and expected, but in reality how many heterosexuals would accept so easily to have sex with another man, even out of frustration. Somehow here it seemed to me that Hagiwara Kazuaki really wanted to have sex with Nakarai Sei ... and not out of frustration, but that he simply wanted this. Probably for this reason they stayed at the hotel for 2 days and had sex non-stop. And even if they discuss that nothing will change in their relationship, everything will remain as "one weekend stand" it seems that they develop feelings for each other, from here I wonder how heterosexual the heterosexual was and obviously their partners find out about the escapade. And we have 2 situations:
1. - Hagiwara Kazuaki ' s lover is very forgiving and somehow she tries to reconcile with him, maybe because she realizes that she is the one to blame in their relationship, being the one who refuses sexual intimacy, but obviously he breaks up with her, because he already had feelings for Nakarai Sei.
2. - Nakarai Sei's partner rapes him in a moment of anger and jealousy. And even if everyone was upset that he could do something like that... well rage is surprising ... but in reality something like this is very possible to happen. So Nakarai Sei's partner told him from the beginning that he doesn't want sex, that it's a barrier he can't cross, and Nakarai Sei was ok with this. Soooooo ..... Nakarai Sei's partner didn't have the right to feel lied to, cheated on, angry? (in reality I really think that this was a scene that could really happen between a couple in this situation - and even worse).
The ending was beautiful. Not too syrupy, they took their time, not too little, not too much, exactly as it should be.
Except that obviously we would have needed one more episode in which we could see them together in everyday life as a couple who love each other and have sex and accept each other.
So the beauty of this series, I think, consisted in the realistic description of this 2 different couples and their lives, how non-communication ruins the relationship, how compromises ruin the relationship and that in fact you have to accept what you are, as you are and what you want (from yourself, from the relationship), and that you actually have to communicate to have a successful relationship.
It was beautiful!

interesting but it could have been even better
ok, so I watched this series because of the comments and I can say that I didn't find anything scandalous. What instead seemed exaggerated to me was the multitude of filler characters, I understood that there are topics that need to be debated, such as drugs, BDSM, ownership on somebody, crime, sex, sex everywhere with anyone, at any time, but I would have preferred fewer characters and with the development of the crime thread.
For example, I thought the way Nant died was very stupid (he was waving his hands like a cockroach when "Phop" cam from behind and put his hand on his nose and mounth, him being taller and stronger than "Phop")
what I didn't understand:
1. - "Zouey" in the first episode is a virgin and his friends call him a male whore so that he can finally have sex poor him, and then we find out that in fact he had been raped and his friends knew about it ... and then I wonder how his friends understand rape that way, why this side was not developed, why the show does't let us know how he managed to get over it ...... don't tell me that "Teena's" patience did everything, because then I think we don't understand what a rape is and what repercussions it leaves on a person's mind and life, plus it would have been extremely interesting to debate the subject of a man's rape - because most of the time we only talk about the rape of a woman, but not of a man ... and it could have been something extremely interesting
2. - "Zouey" leaves the paintings of his obsession covered by a cloth in the middle of the room and tells "Teena" not to look... oh... seriously????...
3. - in the last episode we found out that "Zouey" was obsessed, in love and RAPED by Jason Lee ..... like WHAT??????????? ... HOW ???????? .......... more details were definitely needed (because when "Zouey" won the scholarship it was as if they met for the first time, him and LEE)
4. - it seems that "Zouey" had some stronger feelings towards Nant, it was a little bit more than just friend love from "Zouey's" part ... and we don't know how Nant was feeling about him ... could there have been a development?????
5. - I didn't like this exaggeration of sex anytime, anyway, with anyone, anywhere ... I mean, if someone tears your ass and you're bleeding, how much would you want someone to come and give you a handjob??? .... like .... WTF???? , or, you have to perform a dozen a night for a dozen of customers, because your crush was mad on you and didn't want to work and left it all to you, and then your crush comes to you to make love .... like ??? really??? aren't you tired???? you were the only one working that night ... like take a break, sleep ... eat ... and then fuck again
6. - all the actors had the same underpants ... why???? ... at one point it was funny, but then ... really????
what i liked:
1. - the relationship between the 4 friends: - if it had been a little more developed it would have been even better, but it was beautifully brought to life by the actors
2. - I really liked the relationship between: "Zouey" + "Teena" and "First" + "Soong"
what I would have liked to be more developed:
1. - "Zouey's" rape
2. - "Zouey's" feelings for Nant and for LEE (he was obssesd with his rapist - that is a topic)
3. - I would have liked Lee's character to be much more developed, him being a negative character, and it seemed that he could play it very well - I really would have liked to see him play this tyrant who owns a club and who rapes and ... so on
4. - and even the character "Prom" should have been more developed (just to be the one who wears masks when having sex and that's it, it's a shame because he's a good actor)
I would really like there to be a 2-nd season at some point just to see what happens to the characters, how they develop, what happens Nont

entertaining, fun
it is definitely entertainingthe actors play very well, the action keeps you hooked on, there are no unnecessary romantic or side plots that drag out the story.
The relationship between Baek and Yang is very beautifully portrayed by the script and the actors' performances - somehow it reminds of DR ROMANTIC and GHOST DOCTOR. And the relationship between Baek and Han Yu is the comic element that you somehow need and it's nice that it's not extremely exaggerated, they managed to keep it within pleasant limits.
I wasn't actually bored for a second
I can hardly wait for season 2

beautiful and amazing
"Spare Me Your Mercy" was such a beautiful and different series.Everything is about euthanizing people in the last stage of suffering - it will always be a controversial topic all over the world.
Although I understand that the film is different from the books, but the way it was filmed, the growing tension to find out who is the one who "kills" the people who would die anyway after suffering a lot, the music, everything is superlative.
The acting is superb, everyone played very well and brought the characters Onanong, "Boss" and Somsak to life. I felt their fear, despair and frustration.
The end of the series with "Thiu" and "Kan" in the car, with KAN in handcuffs on the way to the police, but with a Thiu who forgave him, with the blue flower... what a wonderful ending, what a battle was going on in Thiu's heart to choose between duty and love... absolutely wonderful end of the series.
