Get ready for a tear jerker
There’s a lot to love about Fangs of Fortune—the cast was top-tier, the soundtrack was equal parts moving and catchy, and the high-end production and cinematography really elevated the visual experience.Where it fell short for me was the pacing and storyline. The first 20 episodes leaned heavily into a fun murder-mystery format with great humour, stunning fight scenes, and nice character beats. As enjoyable as that was, I really wanted more focus on the central plot, which thankfully arrived in the final 14 episodes.
My main critique (and I know opinions will differ) comes down to two things: the excessive crying and the romantic payoff. The constant weeping in almost every scene started to drag the episodes out unnecessarily. And to top it off? Not a single kiss between that couple. I get that it might be aimed at a younger audience, but just one subtle romantic moment would have made their relationship feel so much more believable.
Overall, still enjoyed the series and now have some new actors I want to follow!
