What, who is bashing Jeon Yeo Bin's acting in Vincenzo? How dare?? I think if anything, she's exemplifying that she understands the assignment. The more slapstick, over the top comedy has tapered off in this second half of the series, but this is very much an intended choice between her and the director.
Hopefully it maintains the quality! I'm up to episode 12 now and still enjoying it :D there's something about the naturalness (as natural as romance storylines go in cdrama land...xD) between the two main leads that I really love rn
I'm really enjoying this drama so far! The script feels more polished + the characters less over exaggerated / cheesy that just makes this so much more watchable for me. Also really enjoying the core 6 so far
I feel the same as you in several of the points here, but I do find the language in the beginning a little triggering. "May god have mercy on your soul" and using "wrong," shifts this, even slightly, into a "she has sinned" mentality which makes me so incredibly sad. None of us knew the real Choi Jin-ri, we can't imagine how much pain and suffering she has had to go through, dealing with the stresses of the industry, the high expectations from the public, and the rampant misogyny in the culture.
Instead of mentioning the wrongness of her actions (she must have suffered terribly for her to think this was the option left), let's focus the negativity solely on the systemic toxicity within the entertainment culture, from netizens to the celebrities, to the immense pressures of the idol industry. Simultaneously, it's terrible that so many of these celebrities are unable to speak about their mental state without it being taboo, that it's a reflection of their popularity and their "idol-ness" to talk about and promote mental health.
