“unwarranted physical violence“— you are referring to my comment. So FL punching the sleeping ML when he…
the tone of the words "unwarranted physical violence" make it sound like the scene is some serious violent shit when it's a really goofy comical scene with cheesy sound effects. So yes, you're objectively correct, it is "unwarranted physical violence", I just think it sounds goofy and over the top to phrase it that way, that's all :)

After seeing the rating and comments I was expecting a total shitshow but the show is actually pretty good imo. A lot of people are really exaggerating here, for example people saying "unwarranted physical violence", lmao. All the "violence" is used in a really cheesy comedic way, not shocking or disturbing at all.
As for the friend character that everyone's so worked up about, totally agree. While him having dreadlocks isn't racist itself (there's a good long comment below explaining this), the entire character just screams of black stereotypes and really rubs you the wrong way. All of the scenes with him so far didn't add anything interesting to the show and weren't funny at all. However, if I'm misinterpreting the character, and he was intended to represent something else by the writers, I'd like to know how. It's totally possible that there's just a cultural disconnect that makes the character seem like a racial stereotype, but with stuff like him even wearing the jamaican flag as a shirt I'm less inclined to give the show the benefit of the doubt.
Humor is kind of hit and miss, but definitely better with the second episode. I also see a bunch of people destroying JCW, but I honestly think he plays the role totally fine. Chemistry between the leads is really solid and there are a bunch of really cute scenes. As long as the show keeps steering away from the dumb silly action comedy and stuff like her flying in the first kiss scene, it'll be completely enjoyable.
