Its literally the 4th episode (for me it’s been really good so far) everyone complaining about development and…
In order to develop, the characters should still have a distinct foundation; whether that be strong-willed, intelligent, flawed or other. It's important to have a set of characteristics that makes the audience 'feel something' towards them and want to continue to follow their story.
PS - I do agree 100% that you always need to give a drama a few episodes before full judgement. Just was stating that the beginning episodes should set up the 'world' to attract its viewers.
If you're naturally not interested in the ghost stories or some of the support roles, then you won't naturally…
Yes, agree a mature romance is subjective. It's nowhere near mature out the scope of k-dramaland. But in the scope, it's quite mature in comparison to other types of romances shown. Nevertheless, the romance is too good to be true.
I did see development in their romance and it wasn't from the get-go. I won't go into it all but it started with CS curiosity and interest in the hotel itself. He had little no feelings towards MW. He's clearly an empathetic person and it grew from there...
Any ways, I like reading other peoples' insight too :)
This one was great, if watched selectively for scenes having the few main and support characters. It has literally…
If you're naturally not interested in the ghost stories or some of the support roles, then you won't naturally value their use as plot devices to move the story along. On the surface they may seem useless but most of them come back in some shape of form.
The main plot is Man Wol; from beginning to end. Hence, the romance is secondary. The plot in general is quite thin but I feel that it's more about the reactions and consequences of what Man Wol has to face. It shows both sides of leaving people and being left behind. The deities (Ma Go) are consistently trying to make Man Wol face herself by pulling out her deepest grudges and ultimately allowing her to choose her fate. The main moral of the story is learning to let go and moving on.
As stated above, the romance is secondary. It is barely present in the 1st half of the drama. It is definitely a different type of love that's being shown; it's mature to a degree. If you're looking for kisses and more romantic gestures, then this drama isn't for you. They show their love with their words and actions...(they do say, I love you). I found it actually appropriate the level of intimacy they had. It's hard to show a tragic love filled with sweet moments. Just being together is enough for them. They understand that despite their love, the more time Man Wol lingers in this world, the more time is 'wasted' from finding her peace.
Personally, it's right that the FL leaves to the afterlife. It was set up from the very beginning. So, you should be prepared to also let go of Man Wol or just don't watch the drama if you're not into watching that kind of ending. If the writers changed that conclusion, it would completely neglect the whole meaning of the story.
In my opinion, they leave the show with more than hope. Hope would be that they are unsure whether they will meet again in the future but still wish for it. Here, it is clear that they will find each other again, no matter what. In this drama, life is a cycle and their red threads are still connected through time and existence.
Sorry for the long response! Just me trying to show another perspective of the show and for whoever is silently reading these comments to decide whether to watch the show or not.
the first thing I didn't liked in this drama: how they handled CS's mother. I mean... that's all? I get he would…
Yeah, the reunion was sudden but how else are they supposed to meet each other again after being estranged? We don't know much behind her reasoning + life circumstance but there are countless possibilities. At the very least, she knew he was safe with his father. We don't necessarily need to know a reason but we do know that she did somewhat cared for him since she kept the photos and that's what kept her lingering in the world. I don't think it was solely to hide them from her family...
Since, GCS and his mother are almost strangers to each other, in a way there isn't much to be said that will drastically change his life at this point. The only thing that really mattered is a sincere apology and acknowledgment. Of course it still hurts.
For me, IU's delivering the appropriate emotions. For her character, it's more nuances and there are times where she isn't necessarily feeling one straight emotion but multiple. In those cases, you have to read into the dialogue + bgm too, or even how YJG (or supporting) is responding to get a feel of what's trying to be portrayed. Plus, the director is doing her justice this time around; her eyes are really being captured well + not just wide-eyed like Scarlet Heart, haha.
YJG is doing great! His character could easily come off as over-acting but he hits the right 'timing'. Plus, the way he is able to play-up being mature despite being a 'scaredy cat' (for now). His character is more straight forward but I'm sure they will dig deeper further along. Looking forward to it.
Any ways, I feel that both leads really bounce off each other well.
The brothets story are just so meaningful and amazing... Love their story and acting...i wish the drama was about…
First, I respect your thoughts/opinions but honestly I can't take this comment too seriously with that spelling and grammar. (Please excuse if it may not be your first language.)
Personally, I see no problem with the casting of the main leads. There are absolutely no 'gross' scenes. The story itself isn't based off a love interest but the interactions between characters at a human level.
Also, the media shouldn't come into play when watching this or any drama. Judgements on a drama/film should be made upon viewing.

edit. Quickly checking your watchlist. Just give your 1.0 rating to kdramas and leave. Job done and off to the next.

One possibility is maybe CM will posses CS's body :( But I feel like CM will also be reincarnated as a 'new' person.
