It's an original series. The script came first then the novel. The official novel is hosted on an app called 熊猫看书 which updates alongside the tv series. If you read it anywhere else it's probably a fanfic or sb on the internet messing with you. It's rumoured to have a BE (bad ending, angst/tragedy) but it's not certain/true so don't be fooled. Anyway, tv series is the source material.
Woke up at 6am for 恨君's live broadcast with Mao Zijun & Yi Bochen, and the host. #NoRegrets They were both so adorable, the host was awesome, and we got fan interactions. The host might be a CP fan himself or he's been very attentive to fan wishes/questions. --Both their voices are so nice!
Highlights: - Zijun and Popo entered the room eating dinner (could hear munching noises xD) - This drama was filmed 2018. They're both watching it too and enjoying it a lot. It's strange and familiar to them at the same time bc it's been two years. - Popo reveals that he had heard Zijun's ringtone as "Leap Frog". Apparently a fan had edited it and Zijun used it as morning alarm for some time. - Fanservice (福利) included the both of them voicing some lines from the script, saying cheesy pick-up lines to each other, and recording a morning wake up call - Shared that it was both their first time acting a character quite different from their past characters & real selves. - Zijun says he will grow his hair out again. He had shaved his head for ancient/costume dramas. Both remark that long hair (grow past the ears) can be fairly uncomfortable, and hard to take care of. - Imagined what it would be like if the drama was set in contemporary time instead of the republican era. He's also super expensive, so whenever he's on set, they film the scenes with him in it first. - Also mentioned in another interview, Popo was most anxious about crying scenes. He's learned a lot from Zijun (if you've watched his other dramas, he sheds tears very naturally and beautifully.) - Host asked about what would they do if they switched bodies and made the two very shy lol. So, as the show's official Weibo post says, we are halfway through the series now (I'm sad). For anyone who is up to date with EP 13-18, it's becoming clear who 三爷, the hidden boss, is. For me, this is the first drama I've watched while airing (it's my style to stack and binge) and has accompanied me this season. I know for most people it would've been Guardian (which I loved too) or The Untamed (as it is dubbed as the unforgettable summer of 2018 '怀念，18年夏天'). This is the first series I've heartedly and eagerly anticipated each week. The story and characters too will have a special place in my heart. I've also become a loyal Mao Zijun fan (will definitely be following his activities and acting career from now on). He's the biggest present I've gotten this year. 子俊哥哥我爱你 ;-;
Killer and Healer has dropped into the broadcast list out of nowhere, no promotions, no nothing. It's not in good hands -- MangoTV is a coward, deleting all the highlight scenes and goodies. It's a drama set in republican times (there's a saying that of republican love stories, 9 out of 10 are tragedies ‘民国爱情，十有九悲'--prepare yourselves!) It's also overshadowed by another BL/bromance-oriented drama, Word of Honor, airing around the same period which has gotten a heck lot of trending, publicity, and audience love. SO, I HOPE EVERYONE GIVES 恨君 KILLER AND HEALER MORE LOVE! ❤❤ Thank all the ppl who's been working hard on the subs and making it available to int'l watchers~
