Turns out there is someone even MORE despicable than DLR..!!

I'm loving this drama more and more with each episode. A Chou could give Xue Fang Fei (from The Double) a run for her money - magnificent strategist! Finally, a FL who isn't pining for the ML's love, a weak, misunderstood victim. Not her - God love her!

But that's exactly it. He portrays a man who's never been in love before and doesn't know how to handle it really well. The father he adored preferred his brother, gave him the cold shoulder and then left him for dead. He's learned that love isn't always returned and that you can't force someone to love you - he tried and failed with his father. He knows what he's doing is wrong, he just can't help himself

I enjoyed ep.14. YCX behaves like a villain, but I see a man crazy in love. Literally. Lost his damn mind. Thinks he can fix it by just getting laid. But is finding out it's not enough. He's not in control. That's driving him even more insane. I think he displayed the craziness really well. To be clear, doesn't condone his behaviour. But even he is questioning his own sanity. Meanwhile a trail of broken hearts follows him. Excellent drama, great acting

Ok, so I thought this would be another swaparoo a la Man in the Iron Mask - the real Wei Rao fading into the background, emerging towards the end, but with the show focusing on A Chou conquering Lu Zhuo's heart. After Pursuit of Jade, I was so disappointed.. BUT NO!!! There is so much more going on and after episodes 5 & 6! I find myself quite delighted!! So much more intrigue, with a story that is much less soap opera than at first it seems. Really looking forward to getting stuck in to this one now. Kudos to A Chou's intellectual chops in strategy - respect girl! ❤️❤️❤️

GREAT slap! Both times. But still no comeuppance. The takedown better be spectacular after this18 episode build up. I really hope Harry finds out so that the parents have to see themselves through his eyes - and their son through jail plexi glass

But this drama isn't about exploring that moral dilemma. It's about rationalising that each terrible thing you do is justified. But when each terrible thing you do is more terrible than the one before, it's just about seeing what else you can get away with..

If it was really about saving the child they loved, DLR would have divorced YM as soon as the child was saved/had surgery/secured long term treatment. He didn't. DLR and LH didn't just lie, cheat and steal to save their son, they stole enough money to send him abroad to University! But neither stopped there. I think DLR liked the lifestyle, the attention he got and convinced himself he was a good leader, a good boss and deserving [make that entitled] to take over YM's company. This stopped being about saving their son a long time ago. They rationalised their decisions step by step, turning into parasites that feed off their host.

I think for my BP, I'll wait until then. Too stressful, seriously

OMG, hot lawyer's hiccups are too cute!! I'm so over DLR, I was hopeful the live stream would turn into a big reveal with the son, his infidelity and hypocrisy exposed for all to see. But no. After all this build up, the take down better be bloody spectacular..! Cannot wait

Agreed. DLR is a parasitic, narcissistic bastard. But. YM did hand everything to him on a silver platter - you can't willingly hand over all your power and then complain you have no power. She's a self confessed princess who doesn't even know how to pay the bills. Remarkable then that she doesn't waste time crying over her own stupidity, but is trying to work with what she's got. Good for her! Time to bring on the romance with the hot lawyer!

Is anyone else losing their minds over Yu Meng not telling her parents???!!!! I get that she wants to protect them, but surely we passed that 5 episodes ago already?? They'd need to find out anyway and there's no benefit to keeping them in the dark. On the contrary, their ignorance is sabotaging her - and them. I can't help but feel all this could have been avoided with a simple, honest conversation. Before her dad had a stroke. Before her mum locked her up and threw her phone out. AARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!

Cold and harsh is how you are when you are deeply insecure, emotionally guarded and expecting rejection - and she pulled that off perfectly. Xiaoxi has deep trust issues from being lied to and dismissed by both her parents and witnessing the worst behaviour in men without a single decent role model. She entraps men into cheating as a favour to her fellow woman because she's only ever witnessed betrayal. Then she falls in love with Bei, is drawn into his imperfect world and realises the world isn't black and white. She sees Jiang Yifan through his eyes, starts questioning everything. She herself admits she's never given her whole heart to anyone. Now she has and she's scared AF thinking she's going to lose Bei. So her guard is up and she comes across as cold. I see a scared little girl. But when Bei runs after her and she turns around she is crying real tears and that's when you see the vulnerability. For someone so emotionally guarded, that's a big deal. How do I know this? I have similar avoidant attachment issues..

I'm loving this drama so far! I think it's a grown up, candid look at love, relationships and infidelity from all sides with an unconventional FL. Interesting to see the grey areas and how our insecurities destroy love. Wonderful to see Yu Ning as the ML of a modern drama, all of the nearly 2 metres of this lovely man! I love that despite the honest/real approach there's still plenty of romance to keep us believing.
