Yeah, I guess that's true. I'm watching a lot of anime at the same time and that works so I guess it'd be the same with drama ;D Although I prefer to watch one or two at the time, but when shows are ongoing, the wait for a new episode can be so .. ._. difficult!

He's my all time favorite japanese actor. I've watched a lot of dramas with him, and I never get tired of him. Actually I tend to get more and more impressed, because the charm he brings to every character he acts is amazing. Pride is hands down my favorite with him.

I've seen all but the first, which is on my to-watch list. I wish there'd be a reverse gender-bender theme some day, a guy dressing as a girl as cover.

Hahaha, this made me laugh. It's so true. For me, this was partly the reason I fell out of love with kdrama for a while. But it's also part of why I love it so much, now and before. I like the over-the-top drama and cliché, it's the perfect reality-escape for me. But yes, it's always really fun when you find dramas that differ from the usual manual. Currently watching Reply 1997 and that's exactly what I'm feeling now.

Just like you mentioned, I've had a pretty long period of barely watching any drama at all. I just lost interest in it, and the over-the-top themes just irritated me. So I watched anime instead, for about half a year. And then I came back in it, and now I'm back to being all "AH A NEW EPISODE IS OUT!!!!" and it's what keeps me going with all the stress that school means.

I actually really love the OST to both My Princess and Prosecutor Princess, they're probably my favorites together with Dream High & You're Beautiful (but those revolve around music so it's not odd they're good).

My first asian drama was actually Nodame Cantabile, but my first korean one was Coffee Prince. I watch kdrama a lot more than jdrama nowadays, even though they're mostly cliché and predictable I like to go to that world, for a paus in reality.
