Article Borders: Crossing over to Jdramas
I like Jdramas the most for one reason, they aren't as overly flashy and melodramatic as the kdramas I started with. Don't get me wrong I enjoy some flash and melodrama but, kdramas are just saturated with it. Sometimes they feel like they alternate between looking like pop videos and crying competitions (if that was a real thing). And that's cool, but too much of that and I start to feel like I've eaten too much cake or a candy that is very sour. Once I discovered jdramas, which for a long time I never thought to even watch because they didn't look as quality as the flashy kdramas I was binging on, I became hooked, and now they're pretty much all I watch. Well, I plan to return to south korea some day but I need a break. But, I don't mean to say jdramas are better than kdramas mind you. It's just personal preference. I like stories that are more realism and that talk about real life situations. Jdramas have plenty of that. I would even say that's their strength. The weakness would be, only 10 episodes usually T_T. So many good dramas I wish were longer.
