When you use another country's name, especially in a way where it portrays them in a negative light, do some research.

The issues were many. Africa? He volunteered in Africa? They couldn't even specify the country because they weren't bothered to do their own research. They see Africa as one huge hunk of poverty porn. The audio used *lion king-like audio* was used for comedic purposes, but imagine if we used "Xia piao piao" when showing poor Chinese kids. Wouldn't that be offensive? Gosh. Way to go, justifying appropriation and racism!

Really? "If you feel offended by that, stop watching?"
This is the exact statement used to defend racist remarks.
"If you don't like it, go back to your country!"

Hahaha someone who does not understand contrasting characters. That's really sad. Learn more about story telling theory.

Season 2 all the way

Also, the last episode and it's commentary on the Good vs Evil narrative is soo good.

I think people liking the first season better have just their nostalgia lenses on. Season 2 is so much better and here's why.

1. This showed the much relevant protests in Thailand right now.
2. Some episodes focused not on Nanno but to other characters. A breath of fresh air.
3. Yuri. I may get flamed for this but Yuri was a perfect addition to make Nanno question her beliefs.
4. Nanno's character development. Here we find out that Nanno is more than an omniscient character and she does fear something and is not a god-like character. She is in all actuality, still a human. She just has special abilities.

Yeah, I did check it out; and this time, I actually finished the whole season! Much better. Nanno feels so much better now.

I love the end couple since it's the most logical, I must admit... the writing could have been better, honestly.

Hyeyong backed-out on Season 1 because he is not like Sun-oh who abandoned their 18 years of friendship together for a girl. It's funny how you view Sun-oh's action as proper for some reason. You should never abandon friendship just because of some puppy love, geez.

Did you forget who fell in love with Jojo first? Hyeyong. Who betrayed their friendship? Sun-oh. And you're saying Sun-oh is a better choice? LOL he used the other girl he barely was in love with. I can't with people supporting male characters just because they are handsome.

LOL. JOJO IN LOVE WITH SUN-OH WAS WHEN THEY WERE STILL IN HIGH SCHOOL! GET A GRIP! Also, Season 2 felt extremely mature compared to Season 1's trop-y cliched tendencies. I loved the message this show portrayed about choosing the right person.

Also the way how Sun-oh vs Hyeyong handles disagreements. Sun-oh would lash out and shout, while Hyeyong would stay quiet and give the benefit of the doubt. *Face palm* I can't understand why people like the bad boys so much.

Also, I really hate it when guys say that they notice a girl because all the girls they previously met absolutely went crazy over them, but this girl is special and unique. I must make her love me! LOL. Don't they know Lesbians?

I see people complaining about Hyeyong and Jojo being selfish? Like hello? Why was Sun-oh not putting you off when he kissed his bestfriend's crush on episode 1 of damn season 1?

Funny point. I am complaining because of its predictable nature because shows like these shouldn't be predictable. Imagine watching a thriller, but you know what's going to happen anyway. Where's the thrill? And guess what? Girl From Nowhere is a damn thriller! Plus, Nanno's inconsistent character and lack of development really bugged me out. Anthologies are fine, but repeating main character anthologies without development get really boring.

Yeah, they underdeveloped the Nanno character. Nanno had no real emotions, nor feelings, nor fears even wants. She just feels off as a character. She's barely relatable, unfathomable and is more like a tool for the storyline instead of a character. (BTW, if you study story writing theory it states that the plot should help the characters, not the characters for the plot. This series was very plot-driven which is objectively worse than character-driven ones).

Huh? Gosh you just can't take criticism can't you? That's even sadder.

Uhm, I can't enjoy the show if it's too predictable.
