i just thought it was charming/funny how it cuts between scenes of people doing sports (skateboarding/rollerskating if i remember correctly) in an epic way.
my comment wasnt negative, it was particularly entertaining, thats why i left a comment so people would check it out
to make this work in my head i just pretend shes about 24 and therefore hasn't actually been his student for over a decade (so that he wasn't a widow yet while she was in his class.)
i think they just didnt wanna age her up because then people would consider her an older woman irl. (but if thats the case, why even make a show about her becoming a stepmother?...)
keep in mind the first few minutes of this show are meant to throw you off and make you dizzy (possibly literally) in the way it "introduces" each female secretary. if youre not used to older shows don't start here. if you've never sat through eccentric films or tv don't start here either. the show has intentionally chauvinistic language but it doesn't go unchallenged. was very impressed how it started off tiptoeing around each characters rough exterior and then eventually pivoted to being *about* their flaws, shame, trauma, etc. i really liked it.
someone recently uploaded gifs of this on tumblr so there must be a raw version online somewhere. if anyone knows where i can find it i would appreciate it
there was a hd60fps (apparently?) playlist on youtube.... i bookmarked it but its been taken down now and i didn't save any of it. if anyone knows where i could find another copy in higher than 560p thatd be very appreciated
has a few glaring logic flaws and doesn't lend itself well to bingeing because of some of the sound effects they use to emphasize line delivery, but it has a very interesting tone and relatively unorthodox cinematography/acting choices. really like the two main characters, and though the cuts to the other reoccurring characters were initially annoying, they gradually became more tolerable when their character gimmicks were toned down.
corny and ridiculous. if you've never seen an over-the-top hong kong comedy film this could be pretty jarring, but its fun for what it is. currently there's a vhs rip with eng subs available on youtube
