Even if a poor or powerless people is pretty, they won't get the same compliments as they don't wear those pretty, expensive clothes but wear ugly clothes. Not sure about other versions but here they never mentioned her being ugly or less pretty, I'm not sure if they ever commented on her looks, it was all depends on status.
