STARTER OF JOONGDUNK'S ERA

GURLLLLLLLLLL. MISS GURL. I LITERALLY HAVE NO WORDS BUT ALSO HAVE TOO MANY WORDS AT THE SAME TIME. Like… AM I ACTUALLY WATCHING A GMMTV SERIES?? BECAUSE WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK????? THIS SHIT IS SO GOOD. I mean, okay, sure, there’s room for improvement, but like, tiny, microscopic, almost nonexistent room. This series just completely SLAUGHTERED anything else GMMTV has put out recently. The pacing? The cinematography? The climax? The conflict??? BRO. EVERYTHING IS ON STEROIDS. AND THE CHEMISTRY??? BITCH, Y’ALL CAN TELL ME THEY’RE JUST ACTING ALL YOU WANT BUT IN MY HEAD, THEY ARE MARRIED. IN FACT, I WASN’T EVEN A JOONGDUNK GIRLIE BEFORE. I DIDN’T CARE ABOUT THEM. BUT NOW??? NOW I AM A CONVERT. I HAVE SEEN THE LIGHT. I HAVE JOINED THE CHURCH OF JOONGDUNK.

And let me tell you, the fact that they finally gave them a series with a PROPER plot instead of whatever watered-down nonsense they had before??? Like, THANK FUCKING GOD. Anyway, onto the review before I combust.

____________________________________

1. Plot

When I tell you this series GRABBED ME by the throat from the very first episode… Like, the way it started off strong had me thinking, “Okay, this is good, but can they actually keep up the momentum???” AND GURL. THEY DID. AND THEY DID IT SO WELL I CHOKED.

So, we have two main pairings: JoongDunk and FirstKhaotung. JoongDunk is giving enemies to lovers, and LET ME JUST SAY—THE SEXUAL TENSION??? SO SHARP IT COULD SLICE THROUGH A FUCKING DIAMOND. I WAS SWEATING. Meanwhile, FirstKhaotung is more of a “we like each other but let’s be dramatic about it” situation, and while it was cute, my brain was still looping back to JoongDunk’s tension every five seconds. SORRY NOT SORRY.

Plot-wise, we have Fadel and Bison, two hitmen working for some big boss they call ‘Mother,’ whose job is basically to kill bad people. One day, Bison meets Kant (while playing bowling of all things) and they have a one-night stand that turns into something real. BUT OF COURSE, Fadel, the king of cockblocking, is NOT HAVING IT. Enter Style, Kant’s friend, and suddenly we have a love square where everyone is either in danger or horny (or both). The conflicts just keep evolving, and honestly? That’s what keeps this series so addictive.

The pacing is chef’s kiss—not too fast, not too slow, just enough to make me DESPERATE for the next episode. ALSO, THE OUTFITS??? HELLO??? GIVE THE STYLIST A RAISE. I WAS LIVING FOR EVERY SINGLE LOOK. (STYLE, I SEE U). But let’s talk about the real elephant in the room. THE MASTURBATION SCENE. HELLO??????? UM?????????? I AM STILL SCREAMING.

A) JOONG? SEXY AS FUCK.
B) DUNK? SEXY AS FUCK.
C) VISUAL COUPLE ON MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE.

The vibes were kinda Only Friends but with better execution and a plot that actually makes sense. The only thing I wasn’t fully gagging over? Some of Joong’s action scenes were a little too… chill. Bro, YOU’RE A HITMAN. WHY DO YOU LOOK LIKE YOU’RE WAITING FOR THE STUNTMAN TO GIVE YOU A SIGN??? Just a little more sharpness, a little more BAM POW, and it would’ve been perfect. ALSO. Kant’s fear of the ocean?? I NEEDED MORE. WHERE ARE THE TEARS? WHERE IS THE FULL MELTDOWN? I NEEDED BISON TO HOLD HIS HAND AND HAVE A FULL “I GOT YOU BABY” MOMENT. LIKE HELLO, MISSED OPPORTUNITY.

AND ANOTHER THING. I KNEW Ruerat WASN’T THE KILLER. I JUST KNEW IT. LILY WAS LOOKING SUS FROM THE SECOND SHE STEPPED ON SCREEN. And when she got arrested??? THAT SCENE WAS TOO RUSHED. WHERE WAS THE STRUGGLE? THE DRAMA?? HOMEGIRL JUST WENT “oh no, u got me” AND THAT WAS IT. EXCUSE ME???

BUT LISTEN. The burger scene??? Fadel and Style having their last meal together before 5 years of pain??? STYLE WIPING FADEL’S LIPS????? OH, BITCH, I WAS WEEPING. And for a hot second, I really thought they were about to go full Bonnie & Clyde and commit a crime just so they could be with their boyfriends in jail, BUT NO. Kant had to be all smart and rational and turn them into prison teachers instead. I MEAN, SLAY.

Side note: I wish Keen got more screen time. GIVE THIS MAN MORE TO WORK WITH. His whole deal with the siblings could’ve had so much more juice to it, but nope. Wasted potential.

The ending??? I LOVED IT. No spoilers, but trust me, it’s satisfying. They basically have to rebuild their lives from scratch, but these men are talented as fuck, so I have zero doubts they’ll be fine. ALSO, CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE CINEMATOGRAPHY??? That one scene of Style drinking at the pool while complaining about Fadel? LOOKED LIKE A WHOLE ASS ART PIECE. THE COLORS. THE CAMERA ANGLE. PERFECTION.

____________________________________

2. Characters

- Fadel (Joong) – Okay, listen. I already knew Joong was a solid actor, but THIS??? THIS IS HIS BEST PERFORMANCE YET. I’M NOT EVEN JOKING. THE RANGE. THE DEPTH. THE SUBTLETY. Fadel is a character that could’ve easily fallen into the “broody, emotionless hitman” trope, but Joong understood the assignment. The micro-expressions? The way his voice would get slightly softer around Bison? THE POSSESSIVENESS? FUCKING INSANE. And his fighting scenes? OKAY, SOME WERE A LITTLE TOO CHILL, BUT OVERALL, HE ATE. And let’s be real… THE WAY HE LOOKED AT STYLE LIKE HE WANTED TO DEVOUR HIM. HELP. I felt the jealousy. I felt the internal struggle. Fadel looks clingy and cute as fuck when he is with Style after 5 years in prison got me like 👅. Fadel is becoming emotionally unstable because he starting to get clingy with Style LOL. AND THE AFTERGLOW SCENE????? MOTHERFUCKER WAS ON HIS ACTING GRIND. This man went from emotionally constipated to head over heels and DID IT SO SMOOTHLY. I AM BOWING. I AM KNEELING.

- Style (Dunk) – DUNK. SIR. I AM SO SORRY FOR EVER DOUBTING YOU. The way this man has EVOLVED AS AN ACTOR??? BITCH. Style is literally a menace in the best way possible. This man is the DEFINITION of power bottom energy. I MEAN, HE WORE A CROP TOP, HAD A COCKY LITTLE SMIRK, AND GIGGLED AFTER FLIRTING??? LIKE, HELLO, OFFICER??? I NEED TO REPORT A CRIME. AND CAN WE TALK ABOUT HIS CHEMISTRY WITH FADEL??? STYLE WOULD LITERALLY TEASE THIS MAN TO THE BRINK OF INSANITY AND THEN JUST SMILE ABOUT IT. I KNOW FADEL WANTED TO STRANGLE HIM (OR MAYBE SOMETHING ELSE… 👀). BUT THEN. OH, BUT THEN. When Style started actually catching feelings??? I WAS DONE. THE WAY HE BECAME SOFT FOR FADEL?? CAN WE ALSO TALK HOW HE DIDNT PULL AWAY FROM JOONG'S KISSES? THANK YOU, SIR.

- Kant (First) – OKAY. HERE'S THE THING. Kant is sweet. He’s solid. He’s the guy you wanna bring home to your parents. BUT. HE WAS MISSING SPICE. LIKE, WHERE IS THE DRAMA??? WHERE IS THE INTENSITY?? I NEEDED MORE FROM HIM. But other than that, First still did a great job. And let’s be honest, Chubby First was the best decision they ever made. HE LOOKED SO SOFT I WANTED TO HUG HIM. I think its because he works out so he need to eat more protein.

- Bison (Khaotung) – I AM EATING MY WORDS BECAUSE I REALLY THOUGHT HE WAS GONNA BE MID, BUT NOPE. HE WAS SERVING. He had this playful, unhinged energy that just worked with Kant’s more reserved personality. AND CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE WAY HE LOOKED AT KANT??? THIS MAN WAS IN LOVE. LITERALLY BECAUSE HS IS SO ADORABLE. IM TALKING ABOUT BISON HERE AND NOT KHAOTUNG. OKAY MAYBE I DID TALK ABOUT BOTH OF THEM. LOL. Anyway, Character development? LOVE IT. After 5 years, Bison is more stable now. He is more rational than Fadel ( WEIRD I KNOW ) and trust Kant fully as their relationship grows.

- Keen (Pepper) – NOT ME LICKING MY SCREEN EVERYTIME PEPPER ON THE SCREEN. I’M SORRY BUT THAT NEEDED TO BE SAID FIRST. His character??? FULL OF POTENTIAL. WASTED. UNDERUSED. LIKE, THIS MAN WAS DEALING WITH FAMILY DRAMA, BETRAYAL, AND HIS ENTIRE LIFE FALLING APART—WHY DIDN’T WE GET MORE OF HIS STORYLINE??? WHY WAS HE JUST THERE??? GIVE HIM MORE EMOTIONAL BREAKDOWNS. GIVE HIM A REDEMPTION ARC. GIVE HIM SOMETHING.

Babe (Ken) – Listen. I try to be nice. But I HAVE to be real. Ken’s acting was STIFF. Babe was probably the weakest link in the entire show, and it hurts because his storyline could have been interesting. But every time he spoke, I was like… “Sir… do you even believe what you’re saying???” No emotion, no conviction, just vibes. And not the good kind. NEXT.

____________________________________

3. OST

OST? YAAAAASSSS OMGGGG FIT THE VIBE FR. I love the OST SO MUCH. I just know if the series have Khaotung, I just know the song is lit as fuck. AND LET ME TELL YOU. ALL THE SONGS THEY USE IN THIS SERIES ARE LIT AS FUCK. LIKE none of them actually boring ????? I AM SHOOKETH ????? I still cant move on from dancing scene cause the song is lit. AND THE INTRO is nice as fuck! Bro the concept? YESS!!! They dont even require much videos and only some pictures as the intro. Love it! THE CHOICE OF SONGS ARE GOOD LIKE UM HELLO???? NOT ME DOWNLOADING ALL SONGS TO BE ADDED INTO MY SPOTIFY PLAYLIST.

____________________________________

4. Chemistry

WHEN I TELL YOU THE CHEMISTRY IN THIS SERIES IS NEXT-LEVEL, I AM NOT EXAGGERATING. THIS SHIT FELT REAL. LIKE, I WASN’T JUST WATCHING A BL—I WAS WATCHING TWO ACTUAL PEOPLE FALLING IN LOVE IN REAL TIME. THE EMOTIONS? RAW. THE CONNECTION? UNDENIABLE. THE TENSION? ELECTRIC.

And let’s be honest… JoongDunk is THE main pairing here. FirstKhaotung?? LOVE THEM TO DEATH, but they were major support characters for JoongDunk’s story. That being said… FirstKhaotung was TOO DAMN CUTE, I ALMOST DIED. LIKE, WHO ALLOWED THEM TO BE THIS ADORABLE? THE DANCE SCENE??? I HAD TO PAUSE, TAKE A DEEP BREATH, AND COME BACK BECAUSE IT WAS TOO MUCH FOR MY HEART TO HANDLE.

NOW. LET’S TALK ABOUT THE JAIL SCENE. I AM ACTUALLY FOAMING AT THE MOUTH. THE KISS. THE TOUCHING. THE HEAVY BREATHING. MY MEOW WAS MEOWING. MY SKIN FELT ELECTRIC. MY BRAIN SHORT-CIRCUITED. LIKE, THAT WASN’T JUST A KISS, THAT WAS A LIFE-CHANGING EXPERIENCE. I SWEAR I SAW FIREWORKS EXPLODE INSIDE MY HEAD.

Now, onto the sex scenes… OH, BABY. FirstKhaotung got the good stuff. The choreography, the pacing, the eye contact—it was all there. BUT. JoongDunk’s scene??? It NEEDED MORE. Like, don’t get me wrong, the kisses were PERFECT—desperate, passionate, messy, full French action. BUT THE ACTUAL STEAM SCENE? IT FELT TOO SHORT. WE HAD ALL THIS INSANE, HIGH-BUILT-UP TENSION, AND THEN BOOM. IT WAS OVER TOO FAST. WHERE WERE THE GASPS? THE MOANS? THE LINGERING TOUCHES? I NEEDED MORE. I DESERVED MORE.

That being said… was it still good? YES. YES. AND YES. But would I have sold my soul for an extra five minutes of intense, breathless, emotionally wrecking realness? ALSO YES.
____________________________________

5. Overall

Alright, let’s be real. This is a SOLID 9/10. There are tiny things here and there that could be improved, but honestly? NOTHING CRUCIAL. The chemistry alone makes up for everything. The emotions? The storytelling? The visuals? CHEF’S KISS.

And let me remind y’all I DO NOT REWATCH SERIES UNLESS THEY’RE GOOD. Like, I physically cannot sit through the same thing twice unless it’s THAT level of addicting. AND THIS? OH, IT’S THAT SERIES. I WILL 100% BE REWATCHING.

Now, onto the important questions:
Would I rewatch? YES.
Would I sell my soul for a Season 2? ABSOLUTELY.
Would I commit a crime just to make JoongDunk do another series like this? No comment.

FINAL RATING: 9/10. A MASTERPIECE.

Nice Concept but plot can be develop even more!

I was so skeptical at this series because of the last JoongDunk series that I watched doesn't reach my expectation AT ALL. But this one is much better than the last one. The story started with Zo having a crush on Nita and asking for Joke's help to help him to date her. Though, I like the way they stopped the dating help halfway because of Zo realising his actual feeling towards Joke, I wish they shouldn't stop that way. I wish they could put more conflict like Joke suddenly back to being Nita's boyfriend because of the stalker thing. The concept is good but I wish the plot could have more conflict. The conflict of the series is just love triangle, family issues and thats it. I wish there is more.

I have no complain about the characters BUT I just wish that when Zo confront his mom about his feelings of never feel enough, I wish there is more passion, there is more anger. Yes, Zo is a nice person but he has been bottling up his feelings for a long time. I really wanted to see how Dunk's acting with explosion of anger and regret but it seems like that is not going to happen in this series. And both of them facing the same issues are a little bit.. hm.. how do I say... sound like plot is rushed to finish. They could have create conflict of Joke's father is being bias with his siblings more wide range. Like I said, there are no rage and not enough passion in this series that it makes them a little bit boring.

Joke's whole family except for his grandma is A WHOLE FUCKING RED FLAG. I am so mad that no one seems to care about him like ????? How heartless can yall be? Anyway, I still feel that this series have a good concept, moderately develop plot, amazing actors but very little conflict.

JoongDunk deserves better. There, I said it.

**SIGHS**

I am very very disappointed by the season 2 for 2 Moons. The original cast have average acting ( except for Copter and Kim ; they did an AMAZINGGGGG job!!). Wayo in this series looks like he pretends to be cute and looks a little bit fake for me though. Its really cringe for this series to be honest except for the kiss scene. It felt so fucking real. The story line is a little bit fast for me because they want to show the audience the other plot and the development in MingKit's relationship which is good. But damn! I wish they use the real cast instead of using the new cast and even if they did want to use a new cast, i think they should cast someone that have a better acting skills and have more natural charms.

Its kinda sad really. And disappointing because im looking forward to this series a lot and i don't understand why people requesting for season 3 with the same cast like ?????? I might have a higher standard for bl series but if they cast Gun and Off , it could be BOMB! but *sighs* really i don't understand but im looking forward for the season 3 who knows they could improve right?

p/s: shit i sound like an asshole in my review ahhaha but hey at least im honest

WHAT STINKS AND WHAT NOT?

First things first: WHAT THE F*CK DID I JUST WATCH.

This is only my second GL series after GAP (which was about as spicy as a f*cking glass of milk, let’s be honest), so my expectations were lower than my will to live on a Monday morning. And yet, somehow, this show still managed to play in my face. The first five minutes? I WAS CONFUSED AS HELL. WHO are all these women?? WHY do they all have the same ponytail?? WHY do they all look like they just found out their salary got cut in half??? It’s giving Angry Lesbian Detective Agency and I was NOT prepared.

Then, after squinting at my screen like a blind grandmother for what felt like an eternity, I finally figured out that Tul (inspector) and Ran (forensic doctor) were the leads. Cool, got it. But then I noticed something… WHERE THE F*CK IS THE CHEMISTRY.

_____________________

1. Plot & Chemistry

Alright, so we got Tul and Ran teaming up to solve murder cases, including the Raindrop Killer who murked Ran’s mom 18 years ago. Classic revenge setup, fine. BUT THESE BTCHES HAVE THE EMOTIONAL RANGE OF A FCKING TOASTER.

LIKE. HELLO??? I am BEGGING for a little sexual tension. A lingering stare. A bite of the lip. A fcking anything. But no. It’s dry. It’s so dry my skin started flaking just watching it. The ONLY thing that had me clutching my chest like a 19th-century widow? THE HAND-HOLDING SCENE. BTCH, THAT SH*T HIT ME LIKE A FREIGHT TRAIN. I actually felt something. My soul left my body for a second. But then? BACK TO DRYNESS.

And don’t even get me started on the action scenes. Tul, babe, WHAT THE F*CK ARE YOU DOING. YOU ARE A FCKING COP, THROW A DECENT PUNCH. The way she fights like she learned self-defense from a fcking YouTube tutorial??? Disgraceful. You are letting criminals do parkour around your slow ass while you just STAND THERE looking confused?? GET A GRIP, B*TCH.

Also, can we PLEASE talk about the wardrobe situation. WHY DO ALL THE TOPS LOOK LIKE THEY SHOPPED AT THE SAME F*CKING WORKWEAR CLEARANCE SALE. Baggy pants. Oversized button-up. Tank top. RINSE AND REPEAT. The costume department really said, “Lesbians don’t have rights.”

ANYWAY. Let’s get into the bullsh*t decision-making because OH MY GOD.

EXHIBIT A: Tul walks into a crime scene, sees blood, and immediately rushes to Ran. Sis. YOUR BROTHER IS MISSING. Maybe CHECK ON HIM TOO?? But no, let’s just ignore that for five business days.

EXHIBIT B: The FINAL CONFRONTATION. Tul has a gun. Tin is standing there, CLEARLY ABOUT TO MURDER HER DAD. And what does Tul do? STANDS THERE SCREAMING INSTEAD OF SHOOTING. I almost threw my fcking laptop. The way she just… froze??? BABE. WHAT THE FCK. SHOOT THE BTCH, MOVE ON, ROLL CREDITS.

_____________________

2. Characters & Acting

Tul (Engfa) – First of all, this woman is gorgeous. I’ll give her that. But why does she act like she’s holding in a massive sh*t in every scene??? Like girl. RELAX. Also, WHY is she so fcking stiff?? She’s supposed to be a badass cop but moves like a fcking NPC with one animation loop. DO BETTER.

Ran (Charlotte) – I actually kinda like her. She’s got that I’m a hot doctor and I KNOW IT energy, and I respect that. BUT, BABE. WHERE IS THE SPICE. WHERE IS THE FLIRTY BANTER. WHERE IS THE “I HATE YOU BUT I LOWKEY WANNA KISS YOU” ENERGY. Right now, it’s giving corporate coworkers who just tolerate each other.

Jew (Meena) – NOW THIS B*TCH RIGHT HERE. PERFECTION. She’s fun, she’s charming, she actually has a f*cking personality. She’s everything I WISH Tul was.

May (Lin) – THE MVP. THIS GIRL CARRIED THE ENTIRE SHOW. The comedic relief we desperately fcking needed. The way she ships Tul and Ran harder than the actual writers?? BTCH, SAME. An ICON. A LEGEND.

Now. I need to be honest about something. The acting overall? Mid. Sorry not sorry. If we compare this to, let’s say, Max & Inntouch? BABY. THE GAP IS GAP-ING. Max & Inntouch give you tension, give you emotions, give you ACTING. Tul and Ran? It’s like watching two attractive mannequins trying to solve crimes.

_____________________

3. OST

I literally do not f*cking remember it. That should tell you everything.

_____________________

4. Overall

As I said in all my review, I am not the type of person to rewatch a series unless if its good. Would I rewatch this? F*CK NO. Would I recommend it? Maybe if you just wanna look at hot women making bad decisions.

The plot twists were fire, I’ll give them that. But the pacing? The chemistry? The weak-ass action? TRASH. This could’ve been an 8-episode series instead of dragging us through 10 episodes of stiff acting and Tul fumbling every single f*cking fight.

Final rating: 6/10.

Now, do I suffer through Pluto next or just set myself on fire instead???

AMAZING PLOT X AMAZING CAST!!!

Holy shit. I don't even know where to start. First of all, i just came back from watching Kiss Me Again because i don't want to be left out when i am watching DBK but they didn't mention much about what happened in KMA so its all good! Just you need to know that Pete has a lot of ego and such a troublemaker. He rather use his fist first than talk out of it.

Pete x Kao. Ah. What do i comment about them. They are perfect! Love hate relationships at its finest. Pete is a little bit selfish and has too much pride in him though. I was shocked that he actually okay with Kao lose a student of his tutor just because he hates Non. Of course that Non can gtfo because he is such a devil in disguise. Bought his own merchandise and likes. Wtf?!!! But i don't think Kao is at fault since he is the victim of the situation. He need to choose between his boyfriend and his family. His sister need to have a part time job though, she keep on asking money but she doesn't want to have a job while studying???? But of course, after the rumours got worse, Pete come to the rescue!!! 💕💕💕💕 CAN I JUST SAY HOW MUCH I LOVE PETE'S DAD AND KAO'S MOM. THEY ARE SO COOL WITH THEIE KIDS BEING GAY. Especially Pete's dad. Lmao he even gave him condoms. AHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAH. Seriously, A+ for the kiss scene. They doesn't have much steamy and hot scene but the kiss scene is sufficient enough as it is HOTTTTT?!!!! THEY KISSED UNDERWATER THOUGH AND IT DOESN'T LOOK SLOPPY AT ALL. TRUST ME.

Sun x Mork. OH.. MY.. GOD... SUN IS SO HOT!! HNGHHHH i love him so much! Just that he is quite hot-headed when Mork is about to explain to him what is going on and i don't really have much complain about this couple. I think they are really cute and i like it that they have the same screentime as the main pairing.

This is exactly the closure that i need after watching KMA. IT'S SO GOOD!!! I LOVE THE WAY THEY SHOOT THE OPENING VIDEO LIKE THE GOOD OLD TIME LAKORN. LIKE FULL OF DRAMA. I LOVE IT UGHHH AND NEW., IM COMING FOR YOUR ASS. AND I I FINISHED THIS LAKORN IN ONLY 2 DAYS. GO WATCH IT YOU FOOL!! 💕💕💕💕💕💕✨✨✨✨

Okay Here comes my honest and brutal opinion.

My expectation just destroyed after Episode 8-ish? I don't know what happened to this series, really. Is it too long? Not really but the first episode got me interested to continue but after they only focusing on the crime, it got me kind of bored but since i don't have anything to do, I did watch it. It's a waste though because the actor and actress are amazing. I only watch it because Park Bo Young & Ahn Hyo Seop. They are so cute together.

The cringe level is slightly above danger level. It's kinda cringe and makes me roll my eyes to be honest. What a shame. I think Hyoseop and bo young have more potential. For the plot, i think they should include something in it to make the audience to watch it even more. There is no cliffhanger ? I am not sure. I just ran out of words to watch this. And it seems like the ending is rushed to. They didn't exactly explain with details how Cha Min can come back to life and i don't know why but it ends with Go Seyeon got pregnant makes me feels.. "ugh srsly?"

Overall, the drama is okay. slightly below average but it's okay for you to watch if you have some time to kill but if you really want a good drama. This is not it.

Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! THIS. IS. AMAZING.

I never thought that Singto can act this good! FUCKKK!!! now, i think he is such a good actor he could play a lot of role. The first series i watched he was in , SOTUS makes me feels that his acting will only reach average level but it turns out that the character is like that and he plays it so well, i thought it's really him. BUT DAMN GURL. IN THIS SERIES, he is so cuteeeeee! Like the character that he is suppose to play, Mes is suppose to be cute and not too timid, match with Ohm who play Tharn. GURLLLLL GURLLLLLL HE IS SO FUCKING CUTE AND SUCH A HEART THROBBING GUY. DAMN DAMNNNNN

The chemistry between these two is perfect! Tharn is playful but at the same time when he try to unravel the way Mes died is so sincere like he wants to know what is the real reason behind Mes's death. The plot somehow is perfect! From the beginning, it portrays how they met and soon, Tharn grows up to be a very very beautiful man *winkwonk*. I love it how there is only 2-3 kiss scene? The series teases a little bit with the audience and it's just a right amount of teasing. It's enough to makes us wonder and interest us to watch it more.

The closure is good. We know what happened to Khiem, Prince, Tharn, Mes and Praifah. The plot twist is damn son. I never expect that Mes was Praifah's uncle. SHIT SHIT SHIT. Anyway, i like it when Khiem can see Ngoon. LMAO its his turn to help her now. HAHAHAHAHAH and slight slack in the ending for Tharn X Mes. I wish Tharn meet Mes in human form instead of still be with him while he is a ghost. Like that way, they could get married right? okno ahahahahha but really. Later or sooner, Tharn have to say goodbye to Mes too its just that he have to wait until Mes's present life to end. DAMN.

P/S: FUCKING WATCH THIS. Im gonna rewatch this next year. Damn Ohm. How can you be so hot and good at acting. This is illegal. anyway, i used to not like Singto because i think he is lack in acting but boyyyyy I AM WRONG!

FLUFF THEN WHAT?

OKAY, LET’S GET ONE THING STRAIGHT. I HATED THOMASKONG. Like, deeply, viscerally, "why the fuck do people like them?" kinda hate. So imagine the olympic-like marathon I went through forcing myself to start this series. But, plot twist—I actually ended up not hating it?? Like, they went from “ew, why are they here” to “okay fine, they can stay, I guess.” Progress!

Now, let’s be real. DMD is basically GMMTV's sluttier cousin (aka sex scenes). It’s got the same fluffy vibes, the same recycled plotlines, and the same energy that makes u say, “oh cute” while scrolling ur phone. It’s a decent watch, but did I zone out multiple times? Abso-fucking-lutely.

___________________________________

1. Characters - Give us too many green flag that it is BORING!

- Kong (playing Teerak) – Listen. His acting is almost there, but his voice? His EYES?? They need WORK. Acting isn’t just about looking cute—conviction, babes. And WHY does he force the uwu energy when he already looks like a baby deer?? Just be you pookie. But given that this is his first series, his acting is quite good. At first, his whole "can’t say no" thing was cute, but eventually, I was screaming at my screen like, "GAH DAMN,. JUST SAY NO AND THIS WILL BE OVER.". Also, I need him to hug people like he means it. Every time he hugged his parents, it looked like he was hugging a brick of wall. WHERE IS THE EMOTION?? And the constant self-doubt? Exhausting. Stand up, Teerak. STAND UP. His development is...meh. He gets bolder, sure, but also more irritating with all the self-doubt. Pick a struggle, Teerak.

- Thomas (playing Fah) – I KNOW Thomas can act, but his action scenes? Decent. Could be better. I do appreciate the little microexpressions (brows softening? We love to see it). But Fah as a character? Babes. He’s a plain boiled chicken breast. Green flag, sure, but where’s the spice?? Where’s the flavor?? Give me a damaged, emotionally repressed, hot-headed mess—not this AI-generated perfect boyfriend script. His “temper” was giving mild inconvenience at Starbucks. Like, I needed him to almost snap at Teerak at least ONCE. Just one moment of unhinged drama. But nope, we got a marshmallow. Oh, and his English? Immaculate. We stan a bilingual king.

- Por (playing Lee) – First of all, this man is so fine it’s illegal. Like, Park Jihoon-level fine. I was ready to drag him, but SURPRISE, dude ate. Acting? On point. Face card? NEVER declined. Lee is basically the designated matchmaker, and honestly? I need him meddling in my love life. But his matchmaker energy was too chill—I needed more big brother, protective, ready-to-throw-hands energy. Like sir, this is ur BESTIE, why are u letting him get played like this?? DO SOMETHING??? Also, he barely interacts with Fah, so I deadass forgot they were brothers half the time. Good acting though.

- Auau (playing Real) – THIS. THIS IS HOW U DO TSUNDERE. He was brooding, possessive, emotionally constipated—PERFECTION. The internal struggle?? The simmering tension?? CHEF’S. FUCKING. KISS. This man was carrying the entire emotional weight of this show while Fah stood around looking pretty. Daddy energy through the roof, and I am not complaining.

- Save (playing Hia) – His acting is solid, but his eye acting needs work. Some scenes felt stiff as hell. But when he cries?? SHOOK. Hia as a character? Clingy, spoiled, and ONLY soft for Real, which is hilarious. Lowkey the clown of the series, but suddenly turns into the biggest simp when it comes to his man. We stan a man with priorities.

- Mike (playing Oh) – LISTEN. I love Mike. The fact that I forgot he was even IN this series until he popped up is a CRIME. This man should be a lead actor, wtf is GMMTV doing? I am so glad he left GMMTV. Oh as a character? He was the only one spicing up this vanilla-ass plot. But real talk, Rak lowkey led him on by never saying no, so I kinda feel bad for him. Justice for Oh.

___________________________________

2. Plot - Too many fluff that I keep on rolling my eyes.

Classic fake dating trope: cold, brooding senior + sunshine junior = predictable but fun. Rak’s family being all wholesome? Cute. But some of these lines?? BORDERLINE CRINGE. The chemistry between Thomas and Kong? Not awkward, no weird tension, solid. Speaking of conflict—where is it??? The biggest “drama” in this show is self-doubt and miscommunication. Literally, just talk to each other. The one interesting conflict was the fight in the bar, and even that was weak as hell. Why did that scene look like two toddlers throwing a tantrum? Where’s the intensity?? Vegas could NEVER.

But THEN, that soccer match scene? I LOST IT. Rak cheering in the middle of the game like this was a 2008 Disney movie?? PLS. And then when Fah got into a fight, Rak’s “NOOO, FAH, LOOK AT ME, THIS ISN’T YOU” energy?? GIRL, BE SERIOUS. Supporting characters? Carrying this entire show on their BACKS.

Also, LOGIC LEFT THE CHAT. They supposedly booked a WHOLE ZOO for their date, but then Mew just pops up out of nowhere??? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE. Then the almost-kiss scene? WHY was the pull-away so unnatural?? Fah just stood there like a goddamn lamppost. I needed push and pull energy, not this hesitant virgin nonsense.

Oh’s confrontation with his mom? LACKED. EMOTION. Bro just asked if she ever loved him and she went silent?? AND THEN THAT WAS IT??? WHERE IS THE BREAKDOWN?? WHERE IS THE SCREAMING?? WHERE IS THE RAWNESS??

And OF COURSE, I was more invested in the side couple than the main one. Real and Hia actually had tension, while Fah and Teerak were just out here playing house. Even with minimal screentime, they outshined FahRak’s bland-ass romance.

Sex scenes? Normal, basic, vanilla. No butterflies.

Ep 12? Pure fluff. Cute, but felt like filler. Also, they crammed all the side couples into the last episodes instead of pacing them properly, which made it feel rushed as hell. It’s like they suddenly remembered, “Oh shit, we have more couples to wrap up.” Mess.

Sex scenes? Vanilla as hell. They had potential but didn’t do anything with it. No butterflies, no excitement, just… sex. Yawn.

___________________________________

3. OST - Didn’t care. Just more fluffy-ass love songs.

___________________________________

4. Overall

6.5/10. It wasn’t trash, but it wasn’t great either. I finished it, but by the end, I just felt… empty. Like, okay cool, that happened, but did I feel anything? Nah. Would I rewatch? HELL NO. ( Then again, I never rewatch a series unless if it's really good. )

ThomasKong went from my blacklist to maybe a tiny chair in the back of my mind, but that’s it. I said what I said.

They

Okay, first of all, EXCUSE ME, but why did my entire soul decide Jaonine and Nokia were the main couple??? Like, I was already planning our wedding, picking out baby names, and then BOOM—plot twist. It’s someone else. The BETRAYAL. Not gonna lie, my feelings were hurt, but I’m a strong independent viewer who adapts. So I kept watching, and okayyy... the actual couple is kinda cute or whatever. Do I still wish Jaonine and Nokia were the leads? YES. Am I gonna cry about it? ALSO YES. But I’m here, I’m watching, I’m locked in. Let’s ride.

____________________________________

1. Plot

So boom. Junior (played by Jay) is a whole-ass penguin who turned human (yes, you read that correctly). Man woke up in an empty cage like “where tf am I?” and instead of panicking, he said, “Bet. I’mma slay this.” And what does he do? Enrolls in school. Because obviously, when you turn into a human, your first instinct is to get an education.

Enter Sun (DELICIOUS AS FUCK) (played by Ben), who looks at Junior like he just unlocked a secret level in a dating sim. But instead of exposing him, Sun goes full mysterious bad boy mode and starts acting all protective for NO REASON. Then we got Jodd (Jaonine) and Jeng (Nokia), their chaotic besties, just vibing while illegal animal traders lurk in the background, trying to snatch Junior back into captivity. The audacity.

The plot? Surprisingly solid. It stayed on track (unlike my last relationship). Jeng barely got screen time, which I will be filing a complaint about, but overall? Fun, engaging, and THE DRAMA??? Oh, baby, the TEA.

Now listen, I was enjoying my little silly goofy show, and then suddenly… BAM. Sont is the villain. HELLO??? Junior thought this man was his long-lost dad, and now he’s out here selling his brother to the black market??? The way I GASPED. The BETRAYAL. My man was one "I’m not like other dads" away from fooling us all.

AND CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE MAIN COUPLE? Sun and Junior are giving grumpy x sunshine but make it feral x confused. They’re adorable, but also, Sun… SIR. WHY DID YOU BLUEBALL US IN THE STEAM SCENE? My man was all up in Junior’s personal space, inhaling his neck like he was sniffing premium-grade catnip, and then??? He just??? STOPPED??? LAID DOWN??? SIR, THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO SLEEP.

Also, WHY did Jodd and Jeng just DISAPPEAR in this one episode? “Oh, their parents picked them up.” BABE, Jodd LITERALLY SAID his parents are too busy. SO WHO PICKED HIM UP? A GHOST??? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.

The ending? It was fine, but I’m PISSED. Jodd and Jeng got no proper closure. No fluff. No cute moments. Just vibes and disrespect. I’m throwing hands.

____________________________________

2. Characters & Acting

Junior (Jay) – Absolute BABY. His emotional scenes? ATE. The sass??? Top-tier. “U bully me? Fine, but I still slay.” ICONIC BEHAVIOR. Also, the confidence this man had wearing that gym unicorn-turned-crop-top??? He SERVED.

Sun (Ben) – The tension was there. The angst was there. But WHY was it taking so long for them to get it together??? Every time Sun got all soft and caring with Junior, I was like “YES KING, THIS IS IT,” but then he’d just… walk away??? For what??? To stare dramatically into the distance like some sad male lead in a music video??? BOY, IF YOU DON’T—. Anyway, he had some great moments, but sometimes his eyes betrayed him. Like, he’d be saying something intense, but his face was like: 😐. Ben’s acting needs a lil’ work because sometimes his eyes betray him. And the action scene? Stiff as hell, but the CGI tried to help.

Jodd (Jaonine) – Jaonine is a crackhead. I already knew this from Knock Knock Boys, but I wasn’t expecting him to play another almost identical role. Except this time, he's giving "delulu but make it funny." The man is out here DESPERATE to join any club because apparently, he has zero talent. (LIES. Slander. The man is FINE, what is the director ON???) But instead of joining a normal club, he tangled with much messy friend group not because of the friendship mess but more like 'someone wants to kill my friend'. But let's talk about Jodd. MY BABY. I love him. His comedic timing? IMMACULATE. Jaonine’s acting? IMPROVED SO MUCH. His eyes??? So expressive now..

Jeng (Nokia) – Nokia’s acting has IMPROVED SO MUCH since Knock Knock Boys. He’s a nerd, but he’s also unhinged. I just wish he had more screen time. Justice for my boy.

Mole Goddess – Scene stealer. Icon. I would die for her.

Overall, Jaonine and Nokia’s performances were on another level compared to the leads but I understand that because it's their first series. COME ON.

____________________________________

3. Steam Scene + Kiss Scene

Steam scene? TRAGIC. The buildup was EVERYTHING. The tension??? Off the charts. AND THEN SUN JUST STOPPED??? Sir, you had ONE JOB. Or is it because they are still underage? Tbh, i'm not sure cause they are 20 years old tho? But if it still consider underage then understandable.

Kiss scenes? LIFE-SAVING. Sun and Junior’s kisses were actually GOOD. Like, shockingly good. The chemistry was chef’s kiss, the tension was there, and it felt real.

____________________________________

4. OST

It existed. That’s all I got.

____________________________________

5. Overall?

8/10.

Lost two points for:

- Jodd & Jeng’s TRAGIC treatment (I’m still mad)
- Plot holes and lack of transition

As previously mentioned, I am not the type of person to rewatch a series unless if its really good.

Would I rewatch? No.
Did I love it? YUP.

DIRECTORS, NEXT TIME, GIVE ME WHAT I WANT. Thank you. 💅

BEST SOFTBURN SERIES

First of all.. I DONT KNOW WHY I DON'T LIKE EARTH BEFORE????? I think he is a really good actor. The way his eyebrows twitches for the slightest concern really adds into detail in his acting. I really really love this series. It's a type of series where you don't have much heart-throbbing scene but I could feel that they are really connected to each other because of the heart. Seriously their acting is a new level. Mix's acting is good. I could feel that he act 100% and doesn't really takes care of his image. I really respect that and love him because of it. And this is kind of off topic but his face looks like Jin BTS mixed with Off. XD

I love how the concept is Northern Thai and the fact that Tian took his time to get to know the villagers but doesn't really depends on Torfun's journal 100%. What they shows in the series are real. Most of Northern Thai people doesn't really feel education is necessary. What they portrays are really beautiful and the fact that every episode I keep on rooting them to kiss. OH MY GOD. The last episode is everything. They kissed once but it is so heartfelt that I went BOOM! BOOM! This series kind of give the vibe DOTS but not really.

Really love this series. I removed this series from my list before because of Earth but he is such a good actor now??/?? I don't even know what's wrong with me. Regardless, this series are 10/10. Love it. Really really love it. The chemistry is 100% on spot. New crush is Earth. Thanks. Hhahah. Will definitely watch the series again.

ABSOLUTE BORING

I can't believe New directed this series. I mean the plot is weak and I couldn't afford myself to stay awake the whole time to understand the plot. Everything about this series is weak. From the plot, the acting, the music, everything is not up to average good series. Why is everyone say this series is good? It's not. It's just plain. The plot is going round at the same place and I wish there are more emotion in this series. Logically speaking, if you found out you travel back in time, wouldn't you lose your mind for a second and then try to figure out shit? Nah bruh. Suansoon legit say "aight imma just go with the flow" like ?????? I think Wabi Sabi is losing its touch with good series. I am sorry but they need to release more good series sooner and instead of this boring shit. I mean My Only 12% is having the same vibe but its not boring tho ? like there is a difference between plain boring and good plain. Like everything about this series is so boring, i applaud myself for finishing this series. I hope there is more conflict like murder, reincarnation or something. I dont know but this series is just not it. Bruh bye.

GURL. HOLD MY DRINK.

Affair The Series is hands down the first GL that had me gripping my phone like it was a lifeline. I was HOOKED, gagged, and fully emotionally invested, but also… I wanted to personally square up with half the cast. The chaos? The toxicity? The sheer nerve, the gall, the AUDACITY? Gurl, this show dragged me through the mud, spat on me, and then whispered, “You liked that, didn’t you?” And guess what? I DID. But also… WHAT THE FUCK.

At first, I thought this was gonna be Petrichor 2.0 (aka another slow-burn sobfest), but NAH. This show said, “You want trauma? Bet.” And it DELIVERED.

_____________________

PLOT – AKA MY BLOOD PRESSURE IS HIGH

We start with Pleng, a rich girl who’s basically glued at the hip to Wan, the housekeeper’s daughter. Classic “childhood besties with too much tension” GL setup. I thought, Okay, they’re gonna grow up and have a cute little love story with some social class angst. WRONG. BITCH, I WAS SO WRONG.

Because BOOM. Pleng’s daddy is out here committing corruption, and next thing you know—BAM—he offs himself. And you thought that was dramatic? HER MOM DIES TOO. EXCUSE ME? At this point, I had to pause and reevaluate my life. Like… did I sign up for an emotionally stable viewing experience? NO. But I also didn’t sign up for THIS MUCH TRAUMA.

Fast forward 13 YEARS, and the girls are all grown up. It’s giving second-chance romance, but OH WAIT. WAN. IS. MARRIED. BITCH, I SCREAMED. My soul left my body. And Pleng? She had morals. She said, “I ain’t nobody’s mistress.” QUEEN SHIT. But then we find out… WAN AND HER HUSBAND AREN’T EVEN TECHNICALLY DIVORCED YET? THEY’RE JUST VIBING IN A PENDING SEPARATION??

And THEN. Oh, you thought we were done? YOU THOUGHT. GIRL, SIT YO ASS BACK DOWN. Because Wan’s mom drops a nuclear bomb:

“Y’all might be siblings.”

EXCUSE ME???

No, because why did I throw my phone across the room? Pleng was like “nah wtf” but WAN??? WAN SAID “IDGAF, WE STILL TOGETHER.” MA’AM. MA’AM. THAT’S A CRIME. I WAS READY TO CALL THE POLICE. The way my skin CRAWLED. Like I get it, she’s ride-or-die, but GURL. GET A GRIP.

And throughout this whole MESS, my boy Ek (Wan’s husband) was out here getting dragged through hell and back for NO REASON. Like y’all really did him so dirty. No explanation, no closure, just straight-up ghosting. The poor man was like “So I’m just a side character in my own marriage?” And when he shot himself (DON’T WORRY, HE LIVES), all Wan did was blink. NO TEARS? NOT EVEN A FAKE “I’M SORRY”??? I—

Gurl. This show STRESSED ME OUT.

_____________________

CHARACTERS – AKA A THERAPIST’S NIGHTMARE

Pleng (played by Sonya) – MISS TOXICITY IN HD

At first, I was like, okay, she’s rich, a little selfish, whatever. But no. NO. This girl was out here playing mind games like she was training for the Olympics. She wanted Wan all to herself but then turned around like “Hmm maybe you should stay with Ek.” GURL. PICK A STRUGGLE. I swear she just enjoyed the drama.

That said, after the 13-year timeskip, she finally developed a little common sense and became the only stable one in this dumpster fire. Growth? We love to see it.

Acting? BITCH SHE ATE. That breakdown scene when her dad died? Oscar-worthy. I actually gasped.

_____________________

Wan (played by Lookmhee) – FROM BABYGIRL TO 🚩🚩🚩

Past Wan? Adorable. Loyal. Ride-or-die. LOVED HER.

Present Wan? UNHINGED. POSSESSIVE. JEALOUS FOR NO REASON. Like girl, relax. The way she was throwing hands over Pleng hanging out with Earth… MA’AM, THEY’RE JUST FRIENDS. TAKE A DEEP BREATH. And don’t get me started on the whole “wearing an old bra” thing. That shit was gross. Why are y’all glorifying funky lingerie???

Also, sis, COMMUNICATE. Instead of throwing temper tantrums, try using your words.

But acting-wise? YAS QUEEN. SHE SLAYED.

_____________________

Ek – THE MAN Y’ALL DID SO DIRTY

Listen. Was Ek perfect? No. But did he deserve that level of disrespect? ALSO NO. Homeboy was in love, okay? He gave EVERYTHING, and what did he get? Gaslit, ignored, and emotionally annihilated. Y’all couldn’t even give him a proper breakup?

And then, when he shot himself, WAN DIDN’T EVEN SHED A TEAR. GURL??? YOU SHATTERED THIS MAN’S SOUL AND THEN WENT “oh well”??? THE AUDACITY.

Ek, sweetie, you deserved better.

_____________________

STEAM/SEX SCENES – MID AS HELL

Okay, I’ll admit. The teasing scenes were cute. BUT. The actual steam? Mid. Lackluster. No butterflies, no toe-curling tension, just… vibes. The lingerie was hot tho. So points for that.

_____________________

OST – FORGETTABLE AS HELL

Like… it was fine? But will I be adding it to my Spotify? Nah.

_____________________

FINAL VERDICT – 8.5/10, WOULD NEVER REWATCH LMAO

This show was a ROLLERCOASTER. The plot? INSANE. The characters? STRESSFUL. The drama? UNHINGED. And yet… I enjoyed every second of it. But would I ever put myself through this trauma again? ABSOLUTELY NOT. ( Only because I don’t rewatch a series unless if it’s really good )

If you love messy, toxic, high-stakes romance with zero chill, then congrats, bestie. This show was MADE for you.

If you prefer healthy relationships, emotional stability, and characters with common sense? RUN.

TL;DR: This show had me gagged, stressed, and emotionally exhausted—but also? Lowkey iconic.

Trailer-Bait, No Stockholm Syndrome, and WTF Did They Do to This Plot?

Let me just start by saying this: I'M SORRY. If y'all don’t vibe with my review, then oopsies but also… not really? You can fight me. Anyway, let’s unpack my trauma real quick because I was SO HYPED for this series. Like, Ohm in a BL post- Bad Buddy? Leng being adorable IRL and OhmLeng TikToks giving BFF-to-lovers energy? Sis, I was READY.

And then the trailer? Sheesh! It was giving gritty, it was giving Stockholm Syndrome realness, it was giving “morally grey character development arc.” I was salivating. But GUUUURL. WHY do I keep getting scammed by trailer bait? First Jack and Joker, now this? Is this my villain origin story? Probably. Let’s dive into this tea, because Miss Gurl is HOT.

---

Ohm as Mint: My Sweet Green Flag with Red Flag Tendencies

Listen, Ohm slayed. Mint is a stuntman who’s broke, clumsy, and soft, working overtime to save his sick baby bro. We stan a hardworking king. He’s a family man, super protective, and just the right amount of clueless to be charming. A certified Green Flag™… except for that slight overprotective Red Flag™ energy.

Now, here’s the gag: I wanted Mint to be a layered, complicated man. Like, give me tortured anti-hero! But noooo. The writers kept it basic. Yet Ohm, bless his talented soul, gave this flat character depth. His action scenes? ICONIC. This man was out here throwing hands like rent was due (which, it was). Ohm could’ve made reading a cereal box dramatic. We don’t deserve him.

---

Leng as Q: A Puppy with Lazy Eyes and No Sass

Leng… sweetie… listen. I love you but you gotta step it up. Your resting serious face is giving “annoyed at the world” when it should be serving depth. Like, we need to work on those eyes, babe, because right now, your vibe is “placeholder meme material.”

And Q? GIRL. His whole personality is just trauma and vibes. They took 10 episodes to unpack it, and by the time they did, I was like, “We been knew.” Q could’ve been bratty, spoiled, or even savage, but no. He’s just… meh. He’s lucky he’s cute because otherwise, I’d be snoozing. If Leng doesn’t hit acting workshops HARD before Only Friends 2, I’m gonna cry in 4K.

---

Mheen: Mint’s Rebellious Lil’ Bro Who Deserves a Spinoff

Mheen (played by another Ohm, because why not) is Mint’s sick younger brother. And guess what? He’s the surprise MVP. His acting? Solid. Not groundbreaking, but solid. I love how he’s always giving Mint love-life advice like some teenage Dr. Phil. Rebellious, a little naughty, but wholesome? We love that for him.

---

The Plot: Y’all Catfished Me

Oh. My. GOD. Y’all, the trailer had me HYPED. It was giving Stockholm Syndrome, action, drama, tension—all the juicy stuff. But what did we get? TRAILER-BAIT BULLSHIT.

So here’s the gist: Mint takes a kidnapping job because he’s broke and needs money for Mheen’s medical bills. Enter Q, the rich kid with daddy issues and a hit on his life. Mint is the world’s worst kidnapper, so Q just… stays at his house? Like, “Cool, this is fine. Better than being murdered.” And then they fall in love. The end.

The plot could’ve been so much more. Like, imagine if Mint faked Q’s death and Q had to hide while hitmen that were promised with bounty came for him. Or if Mint betrayed Q but regretted it. Or if they leaned into the Stockholm Syndrome vibe and gave us a morally complex love story. But no. They chose mediocrity. By episode 8, I was like, “Okay, can we wrap this up?” And the last 4 episodes? Pure fluff. Unnecessary.

---

Action Scenes: Ohm’s Fists Could End Me

The action scenes are the saving grace. Ohm knows how to land a punch, and every fight was poetry in motion. Leng? Ehhh, he tried. The choreography was solid, but the fights couldn’t distract me from the dumpster fire of a plot.

---

Chemistry: BFF Energy Instead of Butterflies

Okay, hear me out. They have chemistry, but it’s not hitting. Like, I wanted butterflies, heart palpitations, the whole deal, but instead? It’s giving “besties who sometimes kiss.” The steamy scenes were fine, but the emotional connection felt shallow. I get it—they’re new, but PLEASE do some workshops together before Only Friends 2 because I’m rooting for y’all.

---

OST: Forgettable, Just Like the Plot

The OST? Trash. I can’t even hum it for you because it’s THAT forgettable. Also, why is the opening a soft, romantic song when the show’s supposed to be action-packed? Make it make sense.

---

Final Thoughts: Trailer Bait Strikes Again

Great actors, mediocre plot, and wasted potential. The action scenes are fun, and Ohm’s acting is worth watching, but the chemistry and story just didn’t deliver. Would I rewatch it? No. Would I recommend it? Only if you’ve got nothing better to do. Anyway, here’s hoping Only Friends 2 gives these two the redemption arc they deserve.

TOP THE BEST BL DRAMA!!!!

TharnType The Series. I love this series SO FUCKING MUCH! This is the series that i have been waiting for my whole life! I feel like every series that I watched seems like missing something except Theory Of Love. That's another case huhu. I feel like this series is so fucking real. Everything about it felt to fucking real. From the acting, to the kiss and the argument. I could feel the sadness, the anger in the actor's eyes. It felt sincere. Somehow, i do believe any series that related to Love By Chance has this one spark that i couldn't even explain.

Moving on! I am going to talk about P'Type. I really hate bottom like P'Type. He is so stubborn, hot-headed, rude and his words are always vulgar. He thinks that he can do whatever that he wants and no one can change his point of view. He also likes to say things without even consider other people's feelings. I understand that he has a trauma where to the point he hates gays but he need to know that the person that assault him is not mainly GAY. I think the person is actually a PEDOPHILE. I also feel like he is very rude to Tharn eventhough Tharn didn't do anything to him except care for him and even after he open up to Tharn, he still hurt his feelings and steps on Tharn's feelings like trash. UGH I HATE HIM! Type is the type of person that would use his first to talk instead of sort things out, when Type finally dates Tharn, he somehow soften up but i still feel he is somehow rude and there is no two way effort, only Tharn is the one that care for him and all he does is get angry. Anyway, I REALLY LOVE THE WAY GULF POTRAYS TYPE. It's so accurate.

Tharn. Ah. My Tharn. I love Tharn. He is such a sweet boy. He is an opposite of Type. You know what they says, Opposite attracts each other. Tharn on the other hand is soft-spoken person, very careful of his words and a straight-forward person. He always try to sort things out with Type whenever something happened or they had an argument. For me, Tharn is a very mature person but he somehow hides a lot of things from Type. Type is a mean person but if Tharn would tell him about himself, I do believe that he will listen to it. Tharn is so secretive and he has too much empathy so people would use him easily. He is a big puppy when it comes to Type and he couldn't get mad at him too long LOL. Btw, i've always know Lluong likes Tharn because I can feel it. The first time he holds Tharn's hand, i thought they were sex friends and when he looks shocked at the confession that Tharn Type dating, I already know something is going on. AHAHAHAHHA

Anyway, Hands down to the top best BL ever! I love this series and I can't wait for LBC S2 because TinCan UGHHH!!! <3.

WARNING: THIS REVIEW CONTAINS STRAIGHT-UP VIOLENCE

They should’ve called it The Boy Next Confusing Mess, cuz WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK IS GOING ON. If you came here looking for a sugarcoated review, babe, you better hit that little ✨X✨ in the corner cuz I ain't sparing anyone today.

So when I heard that Boss and Noeul were starring in this, I was like “YAAASSSSS, WE ABOUT TO EAT” … Gurl... Lower. Your. Fucking. Expectations. This was microwaved leftovers at best. Like the concept? It had potential. The execution? A crime. They really pulled a Love Sea on us, where the only thing keeping it from flopping is the spicy scenes.

Now let's get into it before I combust.

_________________________________

1. Plot - 🚨 WARNING: THIS REVIEW CONTAINS STRAIGHT-UP VIOLENCE 🚨

Okay, first of all, WHAT IN THE ABSOLUTE FANFIC WATTPAD MULTIVERSE MESS DID I JUST WATCH?? From episode one, my brain was already buffering like a Windows XP update. I thought, "Maybe it's just me being dumb as hell," but NOPE, the confusion persisted. I'm sitting here waiting for a PROPER backstory, a little bit of sense, a crumb of logic—but instead, I get Cir looking like a professional stalker while claiming he’s from a parallel universe. EXCUSE ME, SIR, DO YOU HAVE A VISA FOR THIS WORLD OR??? Up until episode 8, I was flipping between "okay, maybe it's good" to "GIRL, FOR REAL? THIS IS THE PLOT Y'ALL GOING WITH??"

Also, why is the chemistry so FLAT?? The second episode wasted its whole runtime showing clips from episode one—HELLO? Episode 2 straight-up gaslit me by playing clips from Episode 1 like I got amnesia. BABE, I REMEMBER. MOVE ON. We get it. Cir ran. Phu got confused. SAME OLD SAME OLD. Give me CONTENT, give me SUBSTANCE, not a rerun of yesterday’s mess. I didn’t sign up for a damn recap episode disguised as progress.

And let’s talk about the false advertisement. The synopsis made it seem like we were getting some high-stakes, thriller, multiverse mindfuckery, and what do I get? Some half-baked, comedic nonsense with no clear direction. Like, if y'all wanted to make it funny, at least COMMIT. If y’all wanted to make it serious, then STOP PLAYING. Personally, I would’ve done the whole “Cir is really stuck here, and Phu helps him find a way back while they slowly fall in love” kind of storyline. AND THEN—BAM! CIR GETS SUCKED BACK TO HIS OWN UNIVERSE, HEARTBROKEN, PHUK LEFT BEHIND, TEARS, ANGST, ACTUAL STAKES. BUT NOOOO, instead, I got a storyline that feels like it was written by a sleep-deprived fanfiction author rushing a deadline.

AND THEN. THE HEAD BUMPING SCENE. GIRL, I DIED. I RESURRECTED. AND I DIED AGAIN. IT WAS TOO CUTE. THE WAY PHU WANTED TO CHECK CIR’S WOUNDS AND THEN YA KNOW WHAT HAPPENED 👅. I WAS SCREAMING. And don’t get me started on the fact that throughout the entire series, I was waiting for a big reveal like "Oh, maybe Cir isn’t actually from another universe; maybe he has a twin who just HATES Phu." WHICH, BY THE WAY, WOULD’VE BEEN A BETTER STORYLINE THAN THIS WHOLE ASS MULTIVERSE FIASCO.

And ummm, the side pairings? TRASH. Not even a single ounce of chemistry. Usually, I’m the type to get obsessed with the side couples, but this time? CHILE, I FELL ASLEEP. Every scene felt like they were just filling up time. At this point, I was just WAITING for Phu to get sick so Cir could take care of him, AND SURPRISE BITCH, IT HAPPENED. PREDICTABLE AS HELL.

OH, AND ABOUT THAT BIG "REVEAL" IN EPISODE 8? BFFR. Y’all wait eight whole episodes to EXPLAIN what the hell is going on? At that point, my soul had already left my body. The pacing is bad, the execution is worse, and I just sat there, staring at my screen like, "Okay, so Cir got a fever and just teleported into another AU???" WHERE IS THE SCIENCE??? WHERE IS THE BACKSTORY??? HOW DOES THIS EVEN MAKE SENSE??

AND WHO THE FUCK IS THE CIR IN BLACK SHIRT? WHY DID Y’ALL INTRODUCE HIM IF YOU WEREN’T GONNA EXPLAIN SHIT? GIVE ME ANSWERS OR GIVE ME A REFUND.

Also, Rome deserves a love line. I DON’T CARE. HE’S TOO CUTE TO BE LEFT OUT.

AND CAN WE TALK ABOUT CIR’S MOM??? Cir’s mom in one universe being the total opposite in another could have been a BANGER subplot, but instead, they said, "Let’s make this as basic and underwhelming as possible." Cir’s dad? Sir. SIR. EXCUSE ME? I was waiting for some deep, gut-wrenching backstory, and instead, I got "Oopsie, I chose one kid over the other." Nah. We beefin’. BITCH, I HAVE NEVER WANTED TO SWING ON A FICTIONAL CHARACTER SO BAD. You mean to tell me he straight up abandoned his son like HE WAS RETURNING A FAULTY IPHONE?? JUST SAID, “NAH, THIS ONE DON’T HIT, I’LL KEEP THE OTHER ONE”??? AIN’T NO WAY. AIN’T. NO. FUCKING. WAY.

AND ANOTHER THING. THE WHOLE RESOLUTION BETWEEN CIR AND HIS MOM???? GIRL, THEY JUST GLOSS OVER THE FACT THAT HE BASICALLY SACRIFICED HIS BROTHER FOR HIS OWN FREEDOM????? WHAT IS THIS SELFISH BS???? AND WHY DIDN’T HIS MOM HAVE A REAL REDEMPTION ARC? MAKE HER ACT LIKE A MOTHER FOR ONCE, DAMN IT. And Cir’s dad? WEAK AS HELL. My guy, you couldn’t even outsmart your ex-wife? BOY, BE SERIOUS.

Overall, the plot gave me "Vice Versa but make it Walmart." The lack of chemistry, the weak-ass plot, the wasted potential—girl, I expected better. Maybe I hyped it up too much, but damn. They really fumbled this bag.

2. 🔥 Characters: Aka "Some of Y’all Snapped, Some of Y’all Fumbled, and Some Need to be Launched into the Sun" 🔥

- Cir (played by Boss) - aka “Mr. I Will Make You Forget Every Other Role I Played”
BOSS. BOSS, YOU SEXY LITTLE MAN. HE DID IT AGAIN. The way this man just waltzes onto my screen looking like a whole damn five-course meal, expecting me to focus on anything else?? I AM ACTUALLY SCREAMING. Boss’s acting? BITCH, HE LEVELED UP. I was so deep into Cir that I forgot all about LITA, and that’s a feat. AND DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE ACTION SCENES. Crisp. Sharp. HOT. I needed MORE. You’re telling me this man is out here radiating raw, aggressive, testosterone-filled charisma, and all they let him do was throw a few punches?? JAIL. He deserves a whole action movie, and when it happens, y’all better remember I said it first.

And then we have Cir with Phu. Oh my god. The way this big, intimidating, brooding man suddenly turns into a soft-spoken simp for Phu?? I LITERALLY MELTED. He talks to Phu like he’s the most precious thing in existence, and if I took a shot every time Boss looked DELICIOUS while doing it, I’d be COMA-LEVEL DRUNK. BUT. And I hate that there’s a but. Cir’s character development? Almost non-existent. He started off as shy, awkward, mama’s boy, obedient, hesitant, and by the end? Still shy, slightly less obedient, still hesitant, just slightly more aggressive about Phu. SNOOZE. Where is my main character glow-up??? Where is my BIG MOMENT™?? He could have been THE moment, but they played it safe. I hate that for him.

Final thoughts: Boss ATE. Cir was a little undercooked.

- Phu (played by Noeul) - aka “Why Is This Just Rain 2.0”. OKAY, FIRST OF ALL, CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW NOEUL LOOKED IN THIS SERIES??? BLACK HAIR. SEXY AS FUCK. His hair had more shine than this entire script, and I need his conditioner recommendation immediately. BUT. LET’S TALK ABOUT HIS ACTING. BECAUSE WHY DID I EXPECT IMPROVEMENT JUST TO GET JUMPED BY DISAPPOINTMENT. Noeul, baby. Love you. BUT WTF WAS THAT. I was praying to the BL gods that he would finally step out of Rain’s shadow, and yet HERE WE ARE. He’s still giving “awkward boy with squinty eyes and no real emotional range.” LIKE PLEASE. I wanted to feel something. ANYTHING. But instead, all I felt was secondhand embarrassment. Like, sir. You’re supposed to be MOURNING your father, and your version of crying is WHAT??? Blank face, slightly squinted eyes, dramatic breath—BABY, WHERE ARE THE TEARS??? WHERE IS THE PAIN???

I am begging this man to take an acting workshop because this ain’t it. AND I’M SORRY BUT. If Noeul doesn’t start taking acting seriously, I WILL be campaigning for Boss to get a new, actually emotionally expressive partner. I SAID WHAT I SAID. Right now, it’s giving “Do you even wanna act, bro? Or do you wanna sing? Or do you just wanna be famous? PICK A STRUGGLE.” The way I saw more emotion in my leftover pizza from last night than in his entire performance?? Unacceptable.

Now, Phu as a character? A lonely, miserable little man. He just wants love but doesn’t know how to ask for it. And his so-called friends?? TRASH. Except for Tree and Lin. The other two? Useless. Phu is emotionally constipated, but if Noeul had actually made me believe it, I would’ve cared. BUT ON A POSITIVE NOTE—PHU’S CARDIGAN COLLECTION?? GIVE THEM TO ME. NOW.

- Wim (played by Donut) - aka “Your Business Is My Business”. LMAO, I LOVE HIM. He is nosy, dramatic, and up in everybody’s business BECAUSE HE CARES. And I respect that. He didn’t need a character arc because he was already peak human. But let’s talk about his chemistry with Fot.

Because what was that.

It was flat. Drier than my phone during exam season. Like, I wanted to root for them, but instead, I was just watching two people stand next to each other awkwardly. Do better.

- Jin (played by Fot) - aka “Mr. Actually, I Know Everything”. I CAN’T WITH THIS MAN. Something about him just irritates my spirit. Like, why does he act like he’s the smartest person in the room at all times?? I can’t even tell if I hate Jin as a character or Fot as an actor, but either way, I was annoyed. And where is the flavor??? This man is BLAND. Plain white rice with no seasoning. All he has is a superpower, and that’s IT. Like… okay?? Do you want a medal??

- Tree (played by Creamy) - aka “Mother, I Am in Love”. MY QUEEN. MY WIFE. MY FUTURE GIRLFRIEND.

ACTING? IMMACULATE.
CHARACTER? PERFECTION.
PRESENCE? COMMANDING.

She is that friend who WILL throw hands for you, WILL hype you up, WILL cuss out your enemies. And SHE LOOKS HOT DOING IT. Also, I’m not gonna lie… I was staring at her legs the whole time. I need a doctor because she is 100% my type.

- Lin (played by Yok) - aka “The Water to Tree’s Fire”. She’s… fine? Like, she’s cool, she’s supportive, she exists. But not particularly memorable. She just balances out Tree’s chaos, and that’s her whole thing. BUT WHERE WERE THE LIN/TREE MOMENTS??? They had chemistry, and yet the writers were like, “Nah, let’s do nothing with that.” DISGUSTING.

- Achi (played by Joke) - aka “The Character We Didn’t Need”. Trash. NEXT.

And before y’all come for me—I mean the character, not Joke. Joke’s acting was fine, but Achi as a c character? DELETE HIM. He was messy for no reason, annoying, and did nothing for the plot.

🔥 Final thoughts: Some of y’all ate, some of y’all need to find a new career path, and some of y’all need to be yeeted into space. 🔥

3. THE SPICE: THE ONLY REDEEMING QUALITY

If there’s one thing this show did right, it’s the kiss scenes.

Boss ATE. THE. FUCK. DOWN. The way this man kissed with his whole chest, eyes open, gripping Phu like he was about to devour him?? THAT is how you do it. Every single scene where they got close had me screaming into my pillow.

Phu buckling his hips against Cir? I NEARLY DIED.
That scene where Phu pulled Cir closer? I HAD TO PAUSE AND BREATHE.
The BJ scene?? I TRANSCENDED.
The fact that Boss kissed Noeul with his eyes open?? LIKE WHO DOES THAT??????? LIKE FUCKKKK THAT IS SO FUCKING SEXY FAKKKKKK.
But you know what makes me sick?? The fact that ALL THAT SPICE WAS WASTED ON THIS MID-AS-HELL SHOW.

4. Overall: THIS SHOW DESERVES TO BE LAUNCHED INTO SPACE

Okay, so overall? This plot had potential, but they FUMBLED it like a quarterback with butter fingers. The execution? Weak. The details? MESSY. They had a whole-ass AU concept handed to them on a silver platter, and instead of diving deep into it, they just waded around in shallow water like cowards. Be so fr.

And let’s talk about the acting—because one of the leads? BABY, SOMETIMES I WAS ROLLING MY EYES SO HARD I SAW MY PAST LIVES. Like, give me something! A little more depth! A little more conviction! If I wanted stiff performances, I’d go watch a school play.

Now, I NEVER rewatch a series unless it’s so good it alters my brain chemistry. And this? Yeah, no. It’s a one-and-done situation. Even the steamy scenes weren’t enough to make me overlook the plot holes, the weak-ass chemistry, and the overall "meh" vibes. So, final verdict: a 7/10—decent enough for a watch, but definitely not BoNoh’s best work. Better luck next time.
