on the writing level i give CFC 10/10, Shiko Funjatta 9/10. They are close. both are masterpieces in our generation.
team camaraderie: Characters discover friendship and unity by committing to a demanding club activity.
tradition meets youth: Each story highlights a deeply traditional Japanese practice (karuta in Chihayafuru, sumo in Shiko Funjatta!) while showing how modern students engage with it.
personal growth: The leads mature by facing setbacks, learning discipline, and finding identity through competition.
emotional highs: Both balance humor, frustration, and heartfelt moments, making the journey resonate beyond the sport itself.

If you liked Big Mouth, you’ll enjoy this one too. Both dramas throw you into a thrilling, gritty world set inside prisons and crime-ridden systems — where real villains rule and survival means transformation. Among the chaos rises a once naïve, now tougher hero — someone who discovers who they truly are only after being burned down to ashes. They build their own crew, face enemies and allies alike, and fight to stay alive. If you love that kind of “rise-from-the-ashes” energy, both dramas share the same intense setup.
Gangster world/setting.
The subplot of Dae Su & Jung Ae in AI reminded me of Gil Ho & Jae Hui in GBS.

Beside that the dramas are from Korea, Secret Relationships is also about the protagonist entangling with three men.
If you liked "Not Me" i suggest you to watch "Shine".
In what way ''Not Me'' and 'Shine' are similar:
- The issue of corruption is addressed
- The struggles between the people and those in power
... and the amazing cast & crew behind it for both series !
How ''Shine'' is different:
- The policy is addressed in a historical context
- Inspired by real events (students' struggle for their rights and country, University of Thammasat ( 6th October 1976)...)
- The struggles of same-sex relationships
Both series deserves a 10 out of 10 honestly !

Both legal dramas.
Both feature a mentor/mentee dynamic between female lead and an older (middle aged) female boss.
The middle aged woman goes through a divorce and has a child with ex.
Female centric, slight romance.

Both of this are quite similar in the killing aspects. One of the main characters in both shows are a killer/murderer. They kill for a good cause. That's the only similarities between the shows, nothing else.
