Both Damo and Takryu are Joseon-era historical dramas that blend action, personal struggle, and societal conflict, featuring protagonists shaped by hardship and injustice as they fight against corrupt systems and rigid social hierarchies, with emotional depth, gritty confrontations, and themes of loyalty and survival driving their intertwined fates in harsh, morally complex worlds.

Beyond both being written by Chun Sung-il, The Slave Hunters and Takryu are similar in how they use a Joseon-era setting to critique a corrupt social order, centering on morally complex, wounded protagonists who live on the margins of society and are driven by loss, resentment, and a desire for dignity, while blending gritty action with tragic romance and fatalistic storytelling that emphasizes loyalty, resistance, and the crushing weight of class and power rather than idealized heroism.

-Both are black comedies about economic violence.
-Show how capitalist pressure turns ordinary people into perpetrators.
-Treat violence as something that feels structurally induced, not psychopathic.
-Sit squarely in Korea’s long tradition of class satire through cruelty.

Both dramas has a striking similarity to each other. The ML are both professors to the FL. They both enter an arrange marriage/ marriage out of convenience. And the way they both slowly warm up to each was similar too. I had read the book 'Perfect and Casual' was adapted from before the drama aired and found that this drama (CEO's arrange bride) had more similarity with the book plot than its own drama did. (just slight differences here and there).
That said, its been a minute since i read and watch 'perfect and casua'l so my memory could be rigged a little. (sigh... im getting old...)

Same director, same actors, soundtracks are both just as memorable, and a couple of characters from Not Me can be likened to characters in Burnout Syndrome.

There aren't any plot similarities between the two dramas, but if you like the obsessive and yearning ML paired with the calmer and more level headed ML dynamic, you will love both BLs. Both dramas are masterpieces, but Secret Lover won't give you nearly as much trauma as To My Shore lol.

The characters in both dramas exist in some sort of professional industry (acting vs sports). Basketball is a point of connection for the main couples. Both dramas are lighthearted and easy to binge in one sitting.

Match Play seems a bit more low-budget, but it's still as cute and fun to watch as Ball Boy Tactics.

A "boring" older male-lead and a free spirited, younger, photographer female-lead in a marriage of convenience. Showing a mature romance involving complex character with their own baggage. The cinematography and pacing also gave a similar feel.

Both movies are teen heart feel romances about young people falling in love for the first time, learning about themselves and facing emotional growth. Even though one leans on the dramatic side and the other starts mor comedic, they both capture the awkward and emotional journey of youth.
