Akari, who evacuated with a cat when earthquake struck, meets Kanoko, who also took her cat with her at the evacuation site. Jin, who lived in the same apartment, also loves big cats, and the three become close to each other through cats and eventually live together.

The Hongo family, living near the Tokyo Skytree, is struggling. Yuji, who gave up his music dreams, works in human resources but is too afraid to take risks. Amid a recession, he is tasked with firing older colleagues, only to be laid off himself. His wife, Sachiko, works multiple part-time jobs to support their two children. At rock bottom, their daughter Mako finds an abandoned pomeranian puppy, Skytree. This small act brings hope, and the family slowly begins to heal.
