I just fell in love with Kim Young Kwang
Although 20 episodes are too much, some episodes are just fillers. I still think is pretty darn good.I am a big fan of hospital dramas, I really loved how they filmed/edited the surgery scenes it still looks realistic without showing the actual cutting of the skin. Some people cant even withstand watching blood even from prostetics.
D-Day also made me cry many times. Some heartbreaking scenes really hurts.
Also, the real reason I watched this is because of Ha Seok Jin, I did not expect to fall in love with Kim Young Kwang, I will be watching his dramas starting today.
The earthquake scene brought back so many memories from me. This series will have a special place in my heart.
I totally recommend watching this! Its worth your time!

A kdrama that makes you cry your eyes out!!!
This is one of the most beautiful and amazing kdramas ever, It's so inspiring that I cried a lot watching it!The drama was really interesting! The effects were so amazing that I felt like I was really living the earthquake!
I think it shows really well the two different types of doctors in the world, the ones who just care about money and reputation and those who really want to save people no matter what they have to do.
It also shows how tough is to be living an earthquake, the desperate people, deaths, missing people, destruction, people trapped under the destruction, lack of supplies and many other cruel things, we can see all of this in the drama.
It inspired me a lot, I wasn't sure of what do with my future, but seeing how some doctors risk their lives and do everything they can to save people made me want to be a doctor.
The actors are just amazing, I could feel all the emotions they were trying to express!
The music was so beautiful that whenever i was holding my tears in a sad moment if the music started playing I would just cry and cry and cry....
I screamed my lungs out to the hospital's director, I was so furious at him every time he appeared that my friend would laugh at me.
I don't think there's any negative point in this drama!
I recommend this 100% since it's really amazing and inspiring!
I'm not sure if I would rewatch it again since it wouldn't that interesting because you already know what will happen and it takes all the feeling. So be careful about the spoilers!!!

"D-Day" is a drama about people trying to survive an earthquake. We see clearly how people react differently in situations like this, how some become heroes and others run away to save themselves. It's sad to see all these people hurt and dying, but aesthetically, the scenery and photography are simply incredible, it's also clear that no one is really prepared for something like this. The hospital was left without doctors, medicine, blood, materials, basically everything. Most of the doctors ran away from their responsibilities, but thankfully there were doctors who cared about others, people like Hae Sung and Ddol Mi, who didn't give up until the end.
Hae Sung is a person who doesn't follow rules and is exactly the kind of person you need in a crisis situation, someone who makes quick decisions and knows how to deal with any difficulty that comes his way. He literally performed surgeries wherever he could, but at the same time, this need to save others pushed him to the limit, especially when he couldn't do it. Hae Sung ended up with PTSD when a hospital was destroyed and two people ended up dying. It's not like he could have saved them, but Hae Sung carries that guilt with him, and he only starts to overcome it with the help of Ddol Mi, who is a great companion to him throughout the drama.
Ddol Mi is an incredible character, extremely funny, brave and full of energy. The relationship between her and Hae Sung is great, you want to see them as a couple, but there really wasn't much room in the drama for that, because there was a clear focus in the disaster, in helping people, so all we got was the two of them working together and flirting... but that was enough for me. Their romance is light and fun, it was what made the drama complete.
Everything that happened became a kind of redemption for Woo Jin. He started his career with the purpose of saving lives, since he was the doctor who saved Ddol Mi as a teenager and made her want to be a doctor, but as the years went by, Woo Jin became skeptical and only cared about results and money, he lost his sense of responsibility as a doctor.
One of the most tense moments for me was when Ddol Mi's father is injured and needs surgery, but Hae Sung chooses to save someone else. The problem is that her father's doctor turns out to be Myung Hyun, who causes a disaster and almost ends up killing Ddol Mi's father. Hae Sung's decision hurt Ddol Mi's feelings a lot, she felt betrayed after everything she did to help him... I understand that only Hae Sung could save the other patient, but I also think that Ddol Mi's father should have been his priority. But after that, Hae Sung suffers a great tragedy with the loss of his brother and Ddol Mi ends up understanding Hae Sung's attitude.
The 20 episodes are incredible, from beginning to end. Watching this drama was an unforgettable experience, it really makes you think about how you would act in this kind of situation.

A great show that ended stupidly
i don’t even know where to begin! I’m writing this after watching the finale and i’m kind of mad. This series has been pretty damn good, but the writing in key moments has been hit and miss. I don’t write a lot of reviews, but i’ll stay mad if i don’t put down somewhere.Let me start with the good first. Casting was damn near perfect. Kang young Wang and Jung So Min were perfect and their chemistry was great. All the second and third leads were cast extremely well too.
Story line and plot was very entertaining and kept me on my seat the whole time. To go 20 episodes and not make me feel bored is not an easy task. I haven’t binged watched a drama this good since another miss oh. So min was so hilarious with the intern and her control over her facial expressions is always amazing. Young Wang is really talented. He handles his roles so well and this was no different.
The bad. The worst thing first. Why in the heck do we waste almost an half an hour of the finale on the evil hospital director??? This man attempted to kill his brother in law, other patients, cover up malpractice, try get numerous doctors licenses suspended and fire people left and right. So why in F**K does he get a send off of cheers out of the hospital??? Stupid writing!!
Second thing. is there no punishment for any of these characters???
Dr Han, malpractice and corruption = no punishment
Dr Yoo. almost kills multiple patients = no punishment
Ja Hyuk - international let’s houses burn down and is responsible for the death of woong sun = no punishment. and will be rich from construction
Third bad thing. Baiting romance of Dr Lee and Dr Jung. I wasn’t sure this show was even going to have romance till a couple episodes in, but they sealed it when they had lee give jung a peck on the cheeks. After that barely anything except division between them 80% of the time. Even in the finale for some weird reason he doesn’t call her, how does that make sense? No kiss at the end, but a hand grab off into the sunset….smh. Tell me how the second leads had a better kiss than main couple smh.
I was really ready to give this kdrama a 9 out of 10 until the last two episodes. Knowing how to end your shows is a true skill that these writers do not possess.

While there is character development, and the characters do a good job portraying their various roles, the show focused largely on revealing the many sides of humanity as they face a natural disaster.
In this drama, you will see the many sides of humanity revealed: the selfish, the survivor, the helpful, the self-sacrificial.
There are also plenty of frustrating characters bent on misunderstanding our protagonist. And one-dimensional villains. Sometimes I don't mind these types of antagonists but after watching so many kdramas, these types of characters get old.
As far as disaster dramas go, this is the first I've seen in a korean production and I was impressed with what was filmed given the production value. As far as medical dramas go, this is an average drama. There are lots of cute between the two main leads, but never progresses too far (and for good reason, they are focused on saving peoples' lives in the midst of disaster!) Story moves along at a nice pace, could have been cut to 16 episodes though.
Overall, a decent drama. Watch if you want to watch disaster scenes. If you love medical dramas, then this is okay too, but there are better ones out there.

One of the best Medical dramas!!! Thankfully, I found this and I loved it. Surely commendable!
This drama was released 2015 and I only watched it now. What am I doing in 2015 to missed this gem. Good thing I found it.Currently watching Kim Young Kwang's series, movies and other projects. I didn't expect much about it, I just wanted to watch KYK. But this one is a gem. I wonder why it is not as popular as other Medical dramas. If you love Medical dramas this one is for you. There is also a bit of romance which makes it a little less heavy drama.
What I liked!
1. Kim Young Kwang - argh! I love him and I love how tall he is! And damn, his acting is insanely good. Woah. I love it when he's acting grumpy and joking around. I love how his smile is contagious.
2. The friendship between Nurse Park Jina, Psychiatrist Eun So yool and Dr. Lee Hae Sung + Chief/ Director Kang Joo ran. I just love how they look out and take care of each other. I almost ship Jina x Hae Sung and/ or So Yool x Hae Sung. Without Ddolmi any of them will be great partner for him.
3. The disaster storyline is great. It seems realistic and I'm afraid it is possible to happen in real life. I really hope there are real Doctors like Dr. Lee.
4. Touching and inspiring. In times of disaster there are people who can be selfish and only choose to protect themselves. But there are still people who will choose to help despite the fact that each and everyone is having a hard time. What we have to do in times of trouble is to cooperate and look out for each other.
5. Many more things to like so please watch.
What I hate!
1. I hate that it seems like Dr. Lee is shouldering all the misfortunes in this drama. Give this man a break. From his mom, to his brother, the earthquake and his license. Mygawd. He saved a lot of people but can't even look out for himself! Poor thing. I also hate how super kind he is. Dangit. He forgives and forgets easily.
2. The romance is too little. I want more. I really wish there's Season 2 where we see how Seoul has recovered and Ddolmi x Hae Sung as partner surgeons.
3. There are other things to haye which can be ignored.
Please watch. It surely will make you reflect on a lot of things. It made me cry, laugh and smile.

A must watch!
Do not remember everything since it's been hella long since the last time I watched this. But one thing for sure, I love me some good medical drama with some natural disaster. The best! However, I think the only thing that bothered me was the fact that the main couple had some weird chemistry wasn't that clear from what I remember, they did seem to like each other but they only had a one kiss scene. But other than that I did love that one relationship between the intern and the psychiatrist like ooh~
