I read a lot of reviews which talk about Jung Yoo being a psychopath. I hear you people!

But to me, this drama had a lot more layers than that. This drama had me on the edge of my seat many times, I felt for the characters and related to it.
If you are giving this drama a shot and you will watch it, do so with an open mind. Appreciate the story, the acting and the development of characters.

To me the story was about love and about accepting someone. Letting someone in your heart, despite their flaws. Realising your own flaws and willing to work on them. To me this drama touched a lot of real life problems.

It made me laugh, cry, cringe and love! I would recommend this drama to anyone, as long as they are open to the story beneath the surface! <3

I'd like to start off by saying that regardless of what you read about this drama, you should watch it. It is incredibly frustrating at times, but also amazing at others. I guarantee you won't be bored.

Story:
The story is honestly what made me finish this drama in two days. At face value, it seems like the typical shoujo anime, but there are a lot of complexities to it. I think what really fascinates me is how much is hidden about the characters, and as the story unfolds, we learn more about their traits. Moreover, there's a sense of development and growth that takes place. At the same time, there are several minor storylines that take place that are honestly just as interesting as the main plot, so it's just very entertaining to watch it all play out. I wish I could say more, but honestly I really don't want to spoil it lol.

Cast:
Love them. Even the ones I hate, I love. The cast is the highlight of this drama, for me. Each and every one of them plays their role perfectly. But at the same time, they aren't one-dimensional. The protagonist isn't always the goody-goody who you can't help but adore, sometimes you want to punch her in the face (or at least I did hehe). The antagonists (and oh my there are many) are people you eventually begin to understand (probably not like, but at least understand their point of view). My point is, there are so many emotions these characters make you feel, I felt so drained after finishing the drama. Like I'd lived multiple lives in a day. PLUS, major bonus points for Seo Kang Joon. I mean, he's gorgeous, and his character was impossible not to fall in love with.

Music:
I mean, do people really remember drama OSTs? The only track I can remember is that short, cute one they play at the start of every episode. That's not even a song though haha. Idk, don't remember any particular song standing out throughout.

Overall:
I rated the re-watch value low because I think it's the kind of drama that's more enjoyable when you don't know what's going to happen next. I would def recommend watching it asap. It'll make you cry a lot. Or at least, I did. I suppose it depends on how you feel about the characters. But most importantly, it's definitely not boring. INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING, oh yes, very often. But boring? Nope, have fun.

i started this drama because of the webtoon but i ended up really enjoying it all the way through.

without giving away any spoilers, this story is a masterpiece but the producers absolutely massacred the ending. i don't think it was either bad or good, but it was definitely different from the original plot and it left me kind of disappointed and sad at the end.
apart from that, CITT takes this very basic-ass plot base of a poor girl, a rich chaebol son and the bad boy second lead and puts a twist on it with a lot of varying topics. from stalking to dealing with a patriarchic household, the show gave off some really dark vibes at certain moments and i really liked the way the characters interact. a lot of people didn't like yoo jung and how he solved his issues but i think it's one of the key points that made this show so interesting. a lot of people also complained about the chemistry with the main couple - saying that they're awkward - but that is actually supposed to be the main point of their interaction. with the awkwardness, come a lot of hilarious moments and conflicts. apart from the main leads, baek in ho, baek in ha and all the other background characters are really memorable and enjoyable. i also think i'm the rare minority that didn't get second lead syndrome, but i can 100% see the appeal as their relationship was great.
the actors all seem to suit their roles well (kim go-eun was absolutely i c o n i c) and i also really liked hong seol's outfits in every episode. the visuals give off this college aesthetic kind of vibe that i haven't seen in any other k-drama and the interior design was really pretty.
the soundtrack isn't one of the best but there are a few gems (maybe i like you, cheese in the trap, perhaps this is love)
i don't think how it could be compared to the movie version, it's a disgrace to the drama's name and i don't suggest you watch that one.
all in all, i would rec. this drama to anyone who wants a plot that's both fun and endearing and also lowkey chilling at the same time. i also recommend to everyone that isn't satisfied with the ending to check out the webtoon to heal from the trauma :D

AIGOOOOOO!

This drama was such a roller coaster of emotions from start to finish! The cast was perfect and I could not imagine any other actors playing the characters. Park Hae Jin and Kim Go Eun had so much chemistry going on that I thought I was going to go nuts! The push-pull that Jung and Seol were just killing me! In Ha reminded me so much of Cheon Song Yi from MLFTS but crazier. In Ho was someone that I loved and hated at the same time. Bo Ra and Eun Taek were such cuties and I felt like they were really good for Seol.

I really like the fact that this is so realistic in terms of portraying college students! Being a university student myself, I couldn't help relating so much to the characters and their experiences in school.

I loved the OST of this drama. Every song fit the mood and helped the emotions come through to the audience.

My initial reaction to the finale was "meh". I didn't like it nor despise it. I guess because I have read a lot of reviews before watching this drama, I was prepared to be disappointed big time. It wasn't that bad, for me though.

So would I watch it again?

Y E S!

I loved this drama and I would recommend everyone to watch it themselves to find out! It may not be as disappointing as you think!

I think this drama is fairly talked about drama, but watching the movie remake it made me realize, this drama needed more explanation for the viewers. They really took Hae Jin's character and tried to normalize a sociopathic man. I felt incredibly uncomfortable watching anything "romantic" for Sol. Kang Joon played a key role in the drama, giving us a breather away from Hae Jin's characters decisions and actions. This drama was good overall, because you're interested to find what Jin's character will do next, but the ending is strange and incomplete. It sets up that a sociopath can be good, instead of showing that people who suffer from these tendencies need to seek help. Overall, it's a well-made drama, but this writing has serious real-world consequences.

Directionless & Unconvincing Plot & Characters

I had wanted to watch this drama since its release but hesitated due to mixed reviews. When I finally gave it a try, I couldn’t get past Episode 10. I haven’t read the webtoon or seen the movie, so my opinions are based solely on the series.

Issues:
(1) The ML: The ML’s motivations and character depth are unclear, making the plot feel slow. His portrayal came across as pained rather than cold and creepy, falling short compared to tsundere characters that we know and love.
(2) Sudden Affection: The ML's sudden affection for the Female Lead (FL) felt forced, with no gradual development. Their dynamic lacked believability, making it hard to connect with their relationship.
(3) Baek In Ha’s Character: Her erratic behavior remains unjustified, and it’s unclear why others tolerate it as there's not a convincing backstory.

Saving Grace:
(1) Baek In Ho (Seo Kang Joon): His performance as a passionate second lead chasing lost dreams stood out. While his affection for the FL was charming, it wasn’t swoon-worthy.
(2) Hong Seol (FL): She was endearing at times, but her sudden feelings for the ML and inconsistent traits undermined her “smart, hardworking” persona.
(3) Supporting Cast: Nam Joo Hyuk delivered his usual dependable performance, while Ji Yoon Ho convincingly played the obsessive, twisted Oh Young Gon.

Overall:
Despite its slice-of-life, coming-of-age premise, the message didn’t resonate in the first ten episodes, hence dropping it. Recommended to Skip.

it's not great drama, but it's interesting, caches you (it's rare for me not to skip), also there are interesting main and side characters.
before watching, from what I heard I thought ML was dark but likable, I like that kind anti heroes, but he is just bad person who never even understand it or apologized (especially to In Ho, he ruined his life). ML is just cruel jealous sociopath and it's unrealistic why FL tries so hard to understand/like him, when from the beginning she even didn't liked/wanted him, it was like she didn't liked him but made herself to fall for him.
Often anti heroes change/understand what they did bad, but in this case I couldn't see it, he is unredeemable though drama doesnt treats him that way, like it's normal (but he really does many unnormal and cruel things, which aren't cool at all)

on the other hand In Ho (Seo Kang Joon) was so great, so lovable person, FL was way more happy every time with him. he was more like ML, his character and story was more layered and reach, except of relationships to main characters he had more his own story line then ML (orphan, talanted pianist, sister issues, broken hand and carrier, criminals chasing after him, so warm relationships with many people, funny and also rude/tough when it's needed, back to playing piano, friendship/love to FL and many things), he had so complex life and problems...

I know many people think the end was disappointing and sad, but I think it was normal, how could she stay with that sociopath, I didn't liked that she wanted it and cried, why this drama romantizes really bad person???

A favorite of mine

I watched this drama years ago and I still rewatch it often to this day, Hong Seol is a very relatable and endearing character and Jung Yoo is mysterious, and dark. Seeing their story unfold was very entertaining and unique since all these character's in this show are all different from one another. I definitely rooted for Baek InHo and Hong Seol all throughout this drama, his character was my favorite and he was just so full of warmth despite his life struggles. This story is full of friendship, personal growth, family growth, and yes unrequited love. This review honestly does not wrap up at all how unique this story is, I definitely recommend this drama.

Ignore the bad reviews!

If you want to watch this drama, you should ignore the reviews. This drama was good, but the ending was bad. The couple didn't get back together. Just watch drama for everyone, they have their own taste in drama, so for me, I ignore the bad reviews and just watch. I didn't mind some of the reviews that made me not want to watch it, but I still watched it.

i am ILL.

midway thru i contemplated on literally dropping the drama, which i have previously done before (this is my second watch). BUTTT i just decided to pull through and finish it once and for all. truths be told, im glad i decided to finish it. im glad i got to understand and learn why each character acted the way they did, and if im being so fr, i feel SO BAD for male lead. his whole life he was made to suppress his true self and everyone around him only looking to take advantage of him. like being so fr rn, i agree with some of his actions like DAMN he feels like the embodiment of karma!!! like he takes it upon himself to give the ppl who wronged him a taste of their own medicine and i love that sm, like TAKE THAT HO. but overall, every character was so complex and like some actors have played their role so well to the point that u would literally start to hate them, but I DONT! their good acting just makes me realize how relatable some of their characters are and how some of the issues in the drama happens IRL! also i kind of disliked how they rushed the ending .... like bruh GIVE US SOME MORE!!!

overall, this was a good drama that speaks on alot of issues whether it be about bullying, social status, and even mental health issues. casting was great and i loved every character! also lee sung kyung and seo kang jun as siblings was perfecto cus their eyes are both so light!!

this was a one-and-done watch for me cus i don't think i'll be able to put myself thru this emotional rollercoaster again LOL

Needed Better Balance with the Supporting Characters, but the Main Characters are Good

I did not the point of certain characters being in the series (i.e. Nam Joo Yeon) and other characters I had seen more of (Hong Joon, Kang Ah Young). Neverthelesss, I liked a lot of the main characters in the series.

Bo Ra always sticks up for Seol. Additionally, her bickering with Eun Taek is pretty comical.

Seol is a very strong character who doesn't let her life situation or peers get in the way of her studies.

Baek In Ha comes off as very needy, annoying, and a bully, but you see why she is the way she is through flashbacks of her experiences growing up. There's a lot of depth to her character.

Baek In Ho was my favorite character in the series because he is very dynamic. He picks on Seol and his sister a lot, yet he is very caring. He appears very tough, yet expresses a softer side to him when he plays the piano or when Seol or his sister get into trouble.

The one main character I didn't like as much was Yoo Jeong. He appears mean at the very beginning, then kinda creepy, and then more caring toward Seol. The transitions in his character seemed kinda abrupt. However, that could also be the point to his mysterious character, I dunno.

Overall, I would recommend this one, but maybe not put it at the top of your list.

I've dropped this title near the end, because it was boring me, but not in a bad way.
The story is really well made, even if I am not a fan of Park Hae Jin acting, Park Seo Joon made me watch this drama till I was tired of it. The storyline is real, I can agree with many other people who declared that this drama, created his characters on the different mental illness, and that's a really beautiful thing of this show. I loved how each one is characterized ( ex: the jealous one, the lonely one, the possessive one, the insecure one, etc...).
But, nearby the end in this drama, everything started to get messy and confusing like they ran out of ideas and made, for me, difficult to follow, really sad sicne it had a really good potential since the start!
p.s. (I've just gone to read the spoiler just to end this drama once and for all)...
